If the hinges didn't fail yet, you can try to prevent it from loosening those hinges just enough that the screen is able to stay in all the positions, but loose enough where you can open the laptop with 1 finger. I did this to my IdeaPad and the hinges are still working after 2 years! And it will for a very long time to come.
