I just bought this drum from a Persian store in Sarajevo, Bosnia, just for the sake of having another percussion in my collection, but, of course, I needed to know how it was supposed to be played. Thank you so much. I guess I'll upload something withing a few days. :)
If you read this Shekoufeh: Very good introduction and I really practice your riz notation. Goes slow but I have patience :) The Daf pinning is amzing ;)

ever since i heard hossein alizadeh's trio (saz e no) i've been in love with the daf. i had just a smile on my face when shekoofeh played this rhythm at 6:20, which is exactly what madjid khaladj plays in the opening piece. LOVE!!!
