I dont think that makes you a bad partner, if youve lost people and you want to hold onto them cause youre scared of loosing them. That just means your partner needs to have an open mind and be patient, understanding and extra loving. I know how you feel and while i wont try to scare anyone away from anyone i date (thank you therapy) I still get scared and insecure and clingy, very clingy, but ive learned to control myself (therapy didnt help with that part....) So i completely get it. I hope you find that perfect person who will give you all the affection you deserve. Lord knows im still looking too so wish me luck too? Lol.
