Integrated and Active Transport

The ACT Government is striving for an integrated and active transport system for all Canberra. The City to Gungahlin light rail link is an integral part of delivering the 2012 Transport for Canberra Plan, which maps out ways to deliver more convenient and more sustainable transport options for Canberra over the next 20 years.
Capital Metro aims to deliver high quality, convenient and reliable public transport down one of the city’s busiest corridors, providing more incentive for people to use public transport.
Improving Canberra’s transport system is crucial to the city’s development. The world’s best and most liveable cities all have excellent transport systems, designed and planned in tandem with land use to create walkable, people friendly communities with a range of transport options.
