2003 SCINTILLATOR 600 GRASSTRACK

A cracking 2003 Scintillator 600 put on by the Maidstone Aces MCC at Wagstaff Farm, Biddenden, Kent. A super entry for the 500cc Solo's, with popular local rider Trevor Banks, now entering his twighlight years of racing, but can still mix it with the best around. He will have to be at his best to cope with the competition today, as top man Richard Hall is here, as is Paul Cooper, Jason King, Martin Williams, Mitch Godden, Matt Read, and the flying Steve Braidford.
Top 250cc rider Lee Street is in the 350cc class today, but like Trevor Banks, he will find the opposition pretty hot, with Dave Mears, Richard Smith, and one of the hottest prospects for many a year, Lewis Denham all doing battle. British 250cc Champion Adam Shipp heads the line-up in the 250's, but there are certainly one or two that will give him plenty of trouble. Chris Still, Paul Simmons, and Lee Pitman look the most likely to.
Top 5 in the RH Sidecars look to be Ivor Matthews, Rob Wilson, Duncan Tolhurst, Paul Whitelam, and John Hiscock. After some terrific heats, who would win the spoils at the end of the day?
A small, but still very competitive entry in the LH Sidecars, and with 2 of the top Welsh crews in the line-up, could any of the local crews stop the final going to either Hywel phillips, or Erwin Balman? Graham Hilton, looks the most likely in the opposition. A cracking meeting, with some terrific racing in all classes.
