BAGS are a used to identify the adjective coming before the noun B- Beauty A- Age B- Good/ Bad S- Size I hope it will be easier for everyone understand
Bonjour. I have a question. On Swiss trains they always announce” prochaine arret Geneva “- next stop Geneva, not “arret prochaine”. You said that in French we need to say “ semaine prochaine “. Why is that? Can we use “ prochaine” anywhere we want? Merci!!
Hi Julia, that's a very fair remark! we also say next time : la prochaine fois, next episode: le prochain episode, that's why it's very important that with WEEK, you need to say la semaine prochaine, same with YEAR, because they work differently when it goes with a notion of time :) Hope that clarified a bit!
I could perfectly say : les longs cheveux or un voyage long. But i wouldn't put the focus, the importance in the same way. if I put cheveux first, i give more importance to the hair, and then I add that it is long. if I say LONG hair, i want to draw your attention more on the fact that it is long. Very sublte though. hope that could help somehow.
hello, first of all, you're doing an amazing job. merci beaucoup :) one question: does the adjective also come before the noun if it refers to shape/size? par exemple: une grande chambre. would that be correct?
Hey there is a specific rule about that ,"B.A.G.S" B=beauty A=age G=good S=size All the adjectives accomodation by these come before the noun for instance= Une belle fille Un vieux batîment Un nouveau journal Une petite voiture Un gros probléme Un grand homme
Bonjour! Est-ce correct? Placement of adjective before the noun: Certain adjectives are placed before the noun, some which you can memorize with the acronym "BAGS": Beuty Age Good Size (except for grand with people) These descriptors - and a few others - are considered inherent qualities of the noun: une jolie fille - pretty girl un jeune homme - young man une nouvelle maison - new house un bon enfant - good child un petit problème - small problem les sincères condoléances - sincere condolences les vagues promesses - vague promises Un gentil garçon - kind boy

Could you shed some light on the position of "long"?
Les cheveux longes
(It comes after the noun)
un long voyage
(It comes before the noun)
I could perfectly say : les longs cheveux or un voyage long. But i wouldn't put the focus, the importance in the same way. if I put cheveux first, i give more importance to the hair, and then I add that it is long. if I say LONG hair, i want to draw your attention more on the fact that it is long.

Placement of adjective before the noun: Certain adjectives are placed before the noun, some which you can memorize with the acronym "BAGS":
Beuty
Age
Good
Size (except for grand with people)
These descriptors - and a few others - are considered inherent qualities of the noun:
une jolie fille - pretty girl
un jeune homme - young man
une nouvelle maison - new house
un bon enfant - good child
un petit problème - small problem
les sincères condoléances - sincere condolences
les vagues promesses - vague promises
Un gentil garçon - kind boy
Very nice Renato! I did not know this acronym trick but it looks like it Works indeed! thanks for sharing that with us ;)
👌👌👌
Just like in Spanish ☺️
autre, beau, grand
