So that's why some places of cities got those huge groups of zeds coming out of nowhere on multiplayer, they are the leftovers of a player relocating them
@@DezZzO_YT Or bugs. My friends server kept changing the server settings by itself for some reason, things like zombie spawning, day duration and so on. Having a Guy walking like a boss un front of 300 zombie, drinking a beer then throwing a molotov so he can walk like a boss with a cigarette in front of 300 zombie on fire.
Me, being a total newbie, starting a serious playthrough, carefully, like a chemist choosing percs and then getting straight eaten by a swarm after 2 minutes of starting
the main problem with this is that you now have hordes of zombies in 1 location and even if its away from you i see that zombies tend to stay together so when they come back they will all come back together, so if you wanted to set up a base i would use a more planned version of this where you have a fire started at that location so when you lead the zombies there it also kills them. which means the zombies will come back slower and in smaller groups.
Setting up a fire is a natural continuation of this technique, though I find it to be way more cheesy than just simple pulling, kinda kills the fun in the whole game for me. Just gotta make sure you have a place to take additional waves. Don't wanna run into the first ones you pulled away while you're pulling the second wave away.
This pulling technique is great when you pair it with a molotov cocktail burn at the end. That way the horde doesn't shuffle back over after a few weeks and scare the heck out of you.
The fun thing about this game is that the panic mechanic also happens irl. New players will panic a lot and run, the experienced ones know this is a thing but still make mistakes, only veteran players that have been desensitised by the game would be able to pull this off everytime.

Np, glad you enjoyed. By "return with time" I meant that zombies will naturally try to occupy empty tiles (the ones that don't have enough zombies). They will migrate towards empty tiles with time. It's not going to happen in a day or two, but something to be wary about.

I love using this strat! If anyone actually reads this just keep in mind if you do this near a place where you want to set up a base any zombies in said base location will either break the windows or doors while trying to get to you. Broken doors are annoying, but can be an ez fix, but broken windows makes the insulation for the building go down for when it starts becoming colder.
Protip: destroyed windows are not a permanent loss. You can pick up windows with a crowbar via pickup option and then replace broken ones with new ones.
@@DezZzO_YT when I loot a building I like to close the door. If the building has everything intact then when you loot you can hear any zombies coming for you. It also helps get the zombies out faster
@@arthurburnett9886 ah, I used to do this too. Now I kinda don't care because before I start looting buildings, I make so much noise there's basically not a chance there's still just random zombies that might crawl up to me.
I did this in a server I was in, and funny enough I rounded at least 50+ zombies to a forest, while playing I was with around 7 people doing there own thing, then I just hear someone yelling and "WHY ARE THERE SO MANY IN THE FOREST! WHAT THE FUCK!" And so the admin deleted them all, lol. He didn't know they was from the town so with the help of being a sneaky boy I got rid of 50+ zombies without raising a shovel, it's a great trick for dealing with a bunch of zombies but god it takes awhile.
@@DezZzO_YT Yeah he wanted people to enjoy the game not having to kill zombies constantly... oh wait that's the game, lmao. I told him to let the zombies be there, since it's what happens if they did exist, they'd group together and migrate to different places, in this case it was me moving them to a different place like a Walking Dead episode, and it worked. Deleteing all of them where I lead them just made them respawn and just get more intense, houses didn't have zombies but there was always 4-5 around any house which was annoying af, talked to the admin about it and helped him sort the server settings, been playing for awhile.
Not sure if they actually do, the way it works for sure is that they will try to fill empty nearby tiles, I've had situations when zeds never came back, because they spread out around wild areas and just got stuck there.
Idk if it's just me but using the this strat excessively just kinda puts the game on easy mode, not hating at all just I see it like removing the danger and fun from the game. Really smart strat tho!
i like this a lot if you cant kill them by bits (usually on the very beginning, when you may not have enough weapons). i never put fire since it destroys a lot of resources on the zombies as lighters, cigarettes, newspapers, magazines, backpacks, clothing, weapons, painkillers, watches, etc... you also lose the opportunity to farm a lot of xp for nimble, sneaking, and the weapon ones. its lazy and you dont get as strong as you could become.
Some advice that might help: when you get the first horde bundled up, try to do what the guy in the video did and lure them to an area away from buildings and such. Instead of leaving them, burn them, shoot them, kill them somehow. Get rid of the horde somehow so you don’t have to worry about it later. This sortve thing is great on a world with no respawns, but it’s less of a necessity with respawns enabled. If you’re on multiplayer and wanna do some good for others, dragging them off to a mostly open area would be good. If you want to troll, drag the horde into buildings you know are high value, such as groceries or even the gun stores or police stations if they haven’t been looted yet. Extra cruel if you burn the horde in these buildings. And if you want to make it a challenge, try and loot what you can before you burn the horde. It’ll be tricky if they’re right on you, but that’s the point of the word “challenge”.
You can actually craft Noise Maker device or quickly turn on the lights of outdoor light sources to take attention of zeds. Issue is that Noise Maker device takes lvl 3 engineering skill level and light source bait is not reliable and really situational. You can also use car siren, but it's also RNG. You need hotwiring + find a car in a okay condition for this to work. Also this doesn't take as much time as you think, but I can agree it's not the most fun thing in the world after you get used to it.
Great strat and vid! Louisville buildings can be tricky, though. Zombies can/will spawn into buildings the first time you SEE the internals of the building. So there may be some buildings that you think you drew zeds out of, but then you see inside the building for the first time, and now there's a bunch more zeds.
On the playthrough I currently have, I managed to find the fire station, and cleared it with a crowbar, I can walk so far without seeing any zombies outside of it because there were so many that must have heard me when I did the clearing
It is, but this video is supposed to be a demonstration of a technique you can pull off without any resources: no molotovs, no cars, no weapons, just you and your two legs. Getting a car early can be pretty RNG.
@@DezZzO_YT that's what I'm getting at. I tried to clear out the Rosewood gas station via drive by shooting. A few dead zombies and a beat up car is all I had to show for my troubles.this seems far more effective

Even with Brita weapons - there's sometimes way more than 30 sprinters.
This is the best project zomboid advertisement I have ever seen
Thanks, though I doubt it is lol
I feel sorry for whoever uses those woods later xDDD
Hey you, out there in the cold
Getting lonely, getting old
Can you feel me?
The fact that you can outspeed fast shamblers while only walking is the reason I started playing and sprinters. I set them to 12% occurence using the "Random Zombies" mod, so I can't cheese my way through hordes without fear anymore. Gotta stay on your toes to catch the occasionnal runners !
Yeah, shamblers can get pretty boring quickly. Even insane pop doesn't really make them interesting when you're pretty experienced. It's just gets tiresome to clear them out
Hoho… are you approaching me?
No! WAIT!
Hey thx for the advice ^^
just to clarify, what do you mean by they "can return with time" ?
Do they "teleport" after a long time not where they spawned ? Or you'r just saying that they can walk back to you randomly ?
thx again, simple and effective content 👋
Np, glad you enjoyed.
By "return with time" I meant that zombies will naturally try to occupy empty tiles (the ones that don't have enough zombies). They will migrate towards empty tiles with time.
It's not going to happen in a day or two, but something to be wary about.
Zombies are also are able to respawn, if you look in the sandbox settings it takes around 72 hours for an un observed chunk to respawn zombies
@@vamsigagjew1535 yeah, though majority of players tend to disable this setting

I love using this strat! If anyone actually reads this just keep in mind if you do this near a place where you want to set up a base any zombies in said base location will either break the windows or doors while trying to get to you. Broken doors are annoying, but can be an ez fix, but broken windows makes the insulation for the building go down for when it starts becoming colder.
Protip: destroyed windows are not a permanent loss. You can pick up windows with a crowbar via pickup option and then replace broken ones with new ones.
I like to open all the front doors to buildings as i run by. Saves alot of destruction.
@@arthurburnett9886 plenty of doors will be locked and it's not like you really need them though? Or do you like to preserve the city?
@@DezZzO_YT when I loot a building I like to close the door. If the building has everything intact then when you loot you can hear any zombies coming for you. It also helps get the zombies out faster
@@arthurburnett9886 ah, I used to do this too. Now I kinda don't care because before I start looting buildings, I make so much noise there's basically not a chance there's still just random zombies that might crawl up to me.
I was doing this same strategy, but with a car. On certain locations, such as this, it's probably best done by walking like shown here.
Nice tip!
I mean, who deletes zombies from a Project ZOMBOID server, lol. What is this admin
*Kino Der Toten starts playing*
I believe zeds return to their original slot after a little while. very usefull nontheless , we'll be prepared when they do :)
Not sure if they actually do, the way it works for sure is that they will try to fill empty nearby tiles, I've had situations when zeds never came back, because they spread out around wild areas and just got stuck there.
they respawn in the original place after gettint too far
@@brandonaraya7598 only with respawns on though
Very useful for the first week in game
Idk if it's just me but using the this strat excessively just kinda puts the game on easy mode, not hating at all just I see it like removing the danger and fun from the game. Really smart strat tho!
I absolutely agree. One of the reasons I'm never doing this strat or mass zombie fires too. It's boring.
I do it a bit, but only if needed. Always make a note to go kill the horde off later, so really postponing the fighting than avoiding it
Or just change it to sprinters
@@foxunit5271 sprinters tend to be a very drastic change in difficulty, but yeah that's an option
Alternate option: Pull out your crowbar and show the zombies that your 13 positive points went straight to blunt prowess and gordanite traits
i like this a lot if you cant kill them by bits (usually on the very beginning, when you may not have enough weapons).
i never put fire since it destroys a lot of resources on the zombies as lighters, cigarettes, newspapers, magazines, backpacks, clothing, weapons, painkillers, watches, etc... you also lose the opportunity to farm a lot of xp for nimble, sneaking, and the weapon ones.
its lazy and you dont get as strong as you could become.
next dude to go in those woods for a camping trip is gonna have fun

Glad it helps!
*Pulls out cigarette*
We called these trains back in my day
Very good tactic, I do the same thing but then throw a molotov when I get a good horde so they don't come back
Some advice that might help: when you get the first horde bundled up, try to do what the guy in the video did and lure them to an area away from buildings and such.
I saw that hoard, my molotov urge skyrocketed
this is how the whisperers from the walkimg dead formed herds...neber thought of doing it this way
Helping zombies having a beach party! Nice!
Win-Win for everyone involved.
Now i really want artillery/air support mod, watch those hordes "get pranked" will be so satisfying 😂
you got that michale jackson character down pat
Thanks lol
I once brought a flute with me so that i can roleplay as the pied piper using a mod that allowed me to play songs on instruments
It's a super tedious job, they should be introducing decoy devices like flares, sound grenades.
Even after I've progressed in the game, I still use this technique. But with having the ability to light them up with fire :D
this remind me of that scene from shawn of the dead where shawn just runs into the horde of zombies
This is like the thing we did in Nazi Zombies back then to do easter eggs or if someone had to afk for a while. lol
The helicopter few days later : i'm about to end this man's whole career
Quite the opposite actually, if you pull far enough (like in this video is fine) all that might come during heli is just random few zeds
Usually I set up an alarm clock outside where I want to go in then try and loot it really fast but this seems to be a much better strat
Less safe, but faster
50 thousand zombies used to live here, now it's a ghost town.
truely helpful for west point noob start, i had a hard time with hordes there
My Man really wanted that cure

Will do
Anyone else occasionally find themselves rolling their mouse wheel to zoom in while watching Zomboid vids?
And then one house has alarm all the lil zombinos come running back :(
If you pull them far enough they won't all come back at once for sure
Great strat and vid! Louisville buildings can be tricky, though. Zombies can/will spawn into buildings the first time you SEE the internals of the building. So there may be some buildings that you think you drew zeds out of, but then you see inside the building for the first time, and now there's a bunch more zeds.
Yeah, some of the LV buildings are so high your sounds literally doesn't reach the last floors. Clearing these builds is like a dungeon raid lol.
never thought I'd see a Katana-wielding Michael Jackson.
Tried this died first run. Tried again. Died. Tried once more succeeded thank you for this epic advice Big PP for you.
Glad it worked
I don’t even play this game but watched this from start to finish
Happens to me too often
It would be funny if after clearing all that zone, you entered a building and would trigger an alarm.
On the playthrough I currently have, I managed to find the fire station, and cleared it with a crowbar, I can walk so far without seeing any zombies outside of it because there were so many that must have heard me when I did the clearing
sometimes doing this on multiplayer server makes me feels like a whisper from TWD.
Seems to be more effective than trying to drive around shooting them. I will have to try it out.

Is it that bad lol, my PC is nothing to write stories about too but it handles hordes okay
Tried this strat at the Rosewood prison combined with molotovs, it took me 2 ingame days to clear the horde blob at the outer sides and front entrance.
Really depends on your spawn rates, I was clearly prison fully in like 3 days with no molotovs, could be done even faster
