- Second Empire is set in a Reality different to our own where the Daleks we know are different they are closer to their Kaled Ancestors than the Dalek we know and love this gives them personalities and Names

This series is 11 years old now? I remember watching these as a kid. Still love this series now as an adult. Fantastic still.
This popped into my head after 10 years. I've been looking for it for a while. Glad I finally found it again.
i recently got back into dalek lore and yeah took me a while too cause i remembered it as "Dalek Chronicles"
I remember when i was watching this 8 years ago being so young. happy memories

You've helped to correct one of the big things wrong with the canon Daleks, with the exception of the Cult of Skaro and the Dalek Emperor, individual Daleks lack personalities and their race lacks any sort of culture.
Your Daleks however have individual personalities, culture and internal disputes closer to what Humans have BUT they retain their cooler qualities along with their desire to conquer and exterminate their way towards their goal of conquering the universe. I wonder how the Doctor would respond to these type of Daleks?

this I think is set in a different universe similar to the 1960's Dalek Annuals. The Daleks are more human in that in fact those stories by David Whittaker where some of the best Dalek Stories ever written. I still have mine and treasure them
I always did like my daleks with more personality and individuality, the whole emotionless collective thing is more fitting for the cybermen.

The series is great, details are cared for. Yet rewatching at 1:50-1:53 the reflection of the Dalek on the monitor was an eye opener. Such attention, though however minor one sees it, is very impressive. Great work

I remember, i was like.. 5 when i first watched this, I was obsessed, I needed more and more, and I've come back to this, and the comic itself more than once just to see how things are going, it blows my mind how far you've come, almost there now. God. I was 5.. im almost 17 now. Jesus where does the time go? Keep it up dude, really. This is truly astounding.

This is unreal. The detail, variations in design, and societal hierarchy... all of it combines so perfectly! A shame you're not attached to the BBC. You've done more for the Daleks in these ten minutes than the pros have done in years!

It feels like only yesterday when I first found the second empire comic it was barley 300 pages
I remember I was a Teenager, and I was 13 when I first watched this, and this was a cool series to watch, and I am an adult now and it is still cool.
This series is far closer in style to the dalek Chronicles originally published in century 21 comics.
I absolutely loved the 60's comic book, but this is even better....I'm in Dalek Heaven.

You a brilliant. The voices are a bit lacking but your Dalek design of the new Daleks are much more formidable and intimidating the the power ranger Daleks we now see on the show. As much as I love Matt Smith's series, I wish these were the Daleks on TV. Excellent work sir!

The main daleks need a clear voice with a slang personality or you wouldnt really be able to like them it would just be boring

God I wish character options would make your Daleks into official Merchandise toys they need to NOW!!! These Daleks are AWSOME!!! Better than the current ones I'm serious I'm getting board of the bronze ones
thanks but these arent my Daleks they were made by a user called Mechmaster he very kindly let me use them to make an animated version of his Graphic novel

This is so delightful. I've enjoyed the comic for a while, now I get to see these Daleks moving and speaking.
I don't agree that you need to work on the voices. If they spoke like the Daleks on "Doctor Who" it would take forever to get through all the dialogue.
The only critique I have concerns camera work. Shots lack interest if they're static for too long. The pans relieve that somewhat, but an occasional cut to a tight shot to emphasize a significant moment would help.
Overall quite good.
The voices could use a tad of work, but the animation and and design are amazing! Fantastic job!
@jediboyuk Thankyou for your comment bare in mind these Daleks have more personality than the ones you see in the series if you want to hear Daleks talking that way watch the series or listen to the big finsih audios

Voices aren't bad. Better than the original "Day of the Daleks" voices and the Cybermen voices in "The Wheel in Space"
Strangely I like the unique designs of these daleks compared to most of the stuff from the canon material and the tv show. The designs just make them all look more advanced, each dalek looks like it's made to fulfill a specific purpose and expresses a more organised hierarchy. Although they are not full of hatred like the originals, it feels more of an improvement and it still makes them feel more strategic and intelligent and even more practical as an actual alien war machine should be.
Specy J thanks though I can't take credit for the design or the models themselves Mechmaster who created them has a endless imagination when creating new variants I can be talking about a script and tell him about a new dalek I have in mind and two days later he sends me the dalek I'd only written about
I understand. I even had my own ideas of making the Daleks have more scary behavior instead of just looks, like maybe they could flank and move fast, stick to ceilings, turn invisible, carry extra armaments, use sonar when their eye is destroyed, maybe even chase a car on the road (that would be both laughable and disturbingly frightening at the same time seeing something that usually takes its sweet time on the ground in the tv show going several miles per hour for once, since they for some reason only go that fast when they fly). Davros designed them to be the ultimate killing machine against even the time lords and they always appear like they're casually designed for only wiping out humans when you see them on the show.

The Supreme Dalek that taunted Xenol and wanted him exterminated is a jerk with a bad case of sour grapes, even the Dalek Emperor realizes this. I'm glad that the Emperor was professional enough to silence him and focus on talking to Xenol about his disobedient behaviour even if I believe the Emperor to be flawed in his logic and thinking.......

The 60's Daleks had individual voices and personality. Pretty much all post Genesis of the Daleks stories had the silly notion of them not being so.

Danm it! I just read the whole thing online, when I could've watched it here!
Im watching again from the start. One piece of constructive criticism i would offer is that the weapons discharges arent great. It looks like some effort has been put into the energy blasts etc but honestly a very quick beam or bolt with a more vicious sound would be easier to animate and look better. A slow energy bolt with an arc just isnt necessary. A vicious impact and more deserate scream when the daleks die would be nice to see. Just a few thoughts.
I love this series. I have a question, can DALEKS evolve? Personally, I think it might be a great idea.
They can, only Mentally though. Their whole thing is PURITY of their Species, evolution only causes impurities(from the Daleks prospective at least).
The animation is quite brilliant, but sadly the Dalek voices let it down...the problem being they sound a bit too 'Human'...however, I found that after a while I got used to it...at least you made the effort of giving them a broader vocabulary and you even introduced the idea of Daleks acting on feelings (at 6.16)...I look forward to seeing part 2...thanks for posting.

I love the idea of a Dalek air traffic control tower, but why are there lava lamps on the window ledges?
In their first on screen appearance, the Daleks are shown having art and other beautiful things around them, despite having no appreciation for such things.
The animation and story is brilliant. I was very impressed by the characterization. I have a story idea, but I'm not sure if you would be interested. Let me know if you are.
This is beautiful work, I must say.
But the problem is that these Daleks aren't loud/shouty enough. In fact, the Emperor should be the loudest of all.

Even despite being 13 years old, this has to be my favourite dalek story, fan made or not doesn't matter, to me Doctor who is one of those universes where the fans can pick what's canon and not, and since parallel/alternative universes are canon in Doctor Who this is one of them. So to me, this is a canon universe, I don't care what anyone else has to say this to me is just as canon as the 1996 doctor who movie.

because these are the daleks from the show they are from a alternate universe where they have more independence and back when these early episodes were made my dalek voice sucked
+Dark Raven Productions ......I now see, perhaps you could tune the voice modulator for most of the voices like general xenos, that sound like the others, to make them sound more like they did in the original 60s, I'm not sure if it would turn out the way Imagine it so well, but just see how it sounds first. The first ones in the original episode did appear maybe to be more independent

I find dalek voices in generaly annoying so u cant have good voice actors as far as i'm concerned.

the dalek voice is a little off, there's no reason why you just bark into whatever you're recording from
I think this worked better as a comic, obviously this comes down largely to the voices. Yes I know that these Daleks are not meant to be like the ones on the show, however here it feels like the voice actors are just reading the liness, not actually performing the characters. While this would be ok with minor Daleks who only have one or two lines, it is not ok with Xenol and Ytraal. Those two need the most clearly defined charactera, Xenol needs to come across as incredibly charismatic, while Ytraal obviously needs the whole absent minded mad genius thing to be going on the entire time, that was not there with either of them.Now it isn't all down to the voices, many of the shots in this shouldn't have been used. I understand you're trying to replicate the comic as best as you can, but this is an adaptation, you should feel free to include shots that don't correlate with the comic. Something I noticed that you focus on is a heavy reliance on extremely long and slow tracking shots, now there's nothing wrong with a continuous shot, but you should probably speed them up a bit, cut out as many of the silent bits as you can, it's just dead space.
