I am thinking about trying the casting as it adds nice depth to the glass. I would like to ask where do you get the large frit canisters from that are behind you in the video, and what COE are they? What COE is the glass used in your casting projects? Thank you for the videos they are so helpful and informative.

The frit is 96 COE and I use 96 COE in my casting projects. You can find the large frit containers from D&L art glass supply; You can order them from their website. I have had those jars for a very long time so I am not sure if they are still available but that is where I got them from :)

Do you ever test the strength and structural integrity of glass by doing a freeze test? I am new to fusing, and I'm wanting to assure that the glass projects I make are sturdy. So far, I've done a few small tests with tack fusing of up to 10mm to 12mm. Trying to get the entire piece heated twice, preferably once- I read that detrification can happen with increased firing.

No, I don't do freeze tests. I trust the firing guides that I have developed over the last 40+ years. The firing guide I use for casting larger projects are available in my "Fused Vessel SInks and More" video available on my website.
      I hope this helps!

Do you know anywhere to find out how to cast much larger pieces? I had a friend ask me. She’s having these animal bodies cast in glass to go on top of her sculptures. In Serbia because she doesn’t know where to get them made. I love your cube. I want to try and cast some maybe 2” thick tropical fish one day! You have a good day!

I have an eBook, Destination Innovation and a video, Fused vessel sinks and more for sale on my website. Both these resources have full firing guides for casting thicker projects.
