The band doesn’t sound very tight.. particularly between the drum and bass. And the rhythm section as well. Love the music, but I’ll stick to the recorded versions.
They never do. They made the name expendables when they started cause all members were expendable. Idk I wish they had a different singer. I love them on albums so much.
Drum and bass IS the rhythm section... someone doesn’t know music
The Shore Break in reggae, the rhythm section is the keys and guitar, the instruments that hold the skank. That’s why when a lead singer calls “rhythm” the drums and bass cut out and the rhythm section keeps going. Someone doesn’t know reggae very well. Drum and bass is foundational for any genre.
94808G 94808G first of all, the rhythm section Is always the bass and drums, secondly there’s no keyboard at all in this live set so idk what kind of alternate rhythm section you are referring to, you probably didn’t even watch the video
The Shore Break look it up, reggae rhythm section if you won’t take my word for it. You must not know reggae AT ALL. They don’t have a keyboardist, so what does that mean? It means the guitarist carries the rhythm section for this band. And yes, that makes this band incomplete for a reggae band. Im telling you, rhythm section in a reggae band is different.
No disrespect to these guys putting in their effort but this band sucks. Just playing regurgitated songs that were once relevant. Saw them at Red Rocks in May and it was terrible

it's really interesting. I think about the expendables often. A lot of the other bands in this scene have all kind of progressed or come on to the scene (SS, Stick Figure, Rebelution, Hirie) But expendables really seemed to just sort of stall out a long time ago. They are "headlining" a tiny little festival in Humboldt this weekend, and honestly for how long they've been around its like wooof. All their good songs are sooooo old. Like I cannot listen to bowl for 2 anymore, its like ya I liked that song 15 years ago or whatever lol. Sorry guys.
The “lead” guitar player (not the singer) plays wayy to much , doodling during versus and at the wrong times , that’s what ruins it for me
