I was so pleased to see you had chosen a sloth as your first animal to video as they often get a bad press. Please could I put in a plea for a tapir, the one with a plain dark body. You made such an excellent job of the sloth and made your instruction very clear and easy to follow. As I am a complete novice I think I should start with somethink a little simpler but you have given me something to aspire to. Thank you, Carol UK
Amazing tutorial! Loved it 😀 really easy to follow your instructions interspersed with humour - made me smile. Looking forward to your next one. Thank you 👍❤️
That was an amazing first tutorial! I look forward to finding your other tutorials. I would love to see an English Mastiff or Bengal cat tutorial! Thank you! I hope your friends get out safely!
Wonderful! Could you show how to do a realistic bird feather? My son has a sun conure and I would love to make a felted one for Christmas for him but I don't know how to make realistic feathers.
So cute! Thank for taking the time to explain all of the steps to us. I'm a self-taught wool felter and this is the first time I've seen the armature method. Extra points for using the word armature! SAT word. Anyways, I'm always up for learning new ways to do things. You know, I've been using merino wool for my entire projects (e.g., mini cats and birds). I should invest in the core wool! Anyways, I love sloths because they fit my personality. This is the best of both worlds. Now if only you made a video about procrastination! ;)
Great job. I love the sloths. I’m going to do him next. I did a game with my girlfriend and discovered that the sloths is my spirit animal. I knew there was a reason I loved them. Your also a great teacher. Do you think you would make a bigger one? Thanksagain
I'd love to know what that brownish/yellowish square is that he's using on top of the foam. Is it just to make the sloth show up or as a protector for the foam?
Hi! so helpful. but never done the wire work before so I have question. When poking, the wire doesn't bother? even the wool layers keep thicker inside wire part does not bother? or do I have to just poke the wool part? Thank you very much
MC-1 Wool is a merino cross breed, short staple length, 25micron and available exclusively from Living Felt. You can get it here: feltingsupplies.livingfelt.com/MC-1-Felting-Batts-25-microns_c_4.html
Amazing! It would help a lot if you could upload the video in normal speed as well. It's to fast to see exactly what's going on for a beginner. Thank you!
Hi Penelope! Yes, wool felts because of the barbs on the shafts of the fibers, and wool is able to be sculpted with needles because of the barbs on both the needles and the wool...isn't it wonderful? :) Teachers won't think to cover that basic premise for every lesson....perhaps the way a baker may not cover how yeast or soda affects bread on every cooking lesson. But we are glad you know about it :) Once people hear it once, they get it -- so it is understandable not to mention it in every tutorial.
Easy tutorial to follow. Explains and shows size of wires and wool. Love it.

Thank you. I have not used glue on an armature before.
You're welcome! Yeah, I started using a bit of glue because otherwise the wool slides around on the wire.
Fabulous thanks for the instructions. How about a Koala. Would love to see that.
That was great! I'm definitely try this.
Great instructions and demo. Look forward to more of your work. Think I'd hang mine from my key holder. :-)

Love your work. Please do a bird with open wings. Thank you
Hi Pamela, Kiyoshi has a speed version of his open wings on his channel :)
Yes I know, That is where I first saw his work. Found it difficult to watch. Even slowed down it was too fast!
I'd love to know what that brownish/yellowish square is that he's using on top of the foam. Is it just to make the sloth show up or as a protector for the foam?
He puts a piece of wool felt on to of the foam: feltingsupplies.livingfelt.com/Wool-Felt-8x12-Sheets_c_107.html
I can't wait to get started on my own sloth
Have fun! Feel free to ask me any questions that come up!

Really great tutorial, so clear
Hi! so helpful. but never done the wire work before so I have question.
When poking, the wire doesn't bother? even the wool layers keep thicker inside wire part does not bother? or do I have to just poke the wool part?
Thank you very much
Yes Choi...take care to only poke the wool :) You can vary the angle of your needle and control it to avoid the wire.
Can't wait to give this a try!
Can you use the body shape for an organgatan?
Aw, what a cutie! Can't wait to get started!
Di McLeod Have fun!
Working on one now!
Omg. May I please buy it from you?
Would needle be damaged by glue?
i would love to make skunk thank you

...because wool felting needles are BARBED, Why is this never mentioned?!
