Butch was at the same time, the calmest AND the most frustrated man i've ever seen
Underrated comment 😂😂
Well they were paying him which helps
He was willing to let anything happen lol
Hahaha he was so salty and so calm at the same time omg
Every farrier, instructor, and anybody experienced with horses teaching the newbs ever 🤣 the most patient and frustrated people ever 🤣
I will say I can commend the horse and farrier for their patience and the fact two men (Rhett and Link) with assumingely no horse experience, they were allowed to do this amazed me more than anything. Cleaning the foot sure but the whole process was amazing.
i do appreciate how serious rhett took this, and that link was big enough to admit he was in over his head, but i have never been so nervous watching a GMM episode
Same! My heart was pounding
Exactly what I was thinking
Eh why? Nobody is gonna bring them a wild horse.
@@NoThankUBeQuiet its not about the horse hurting them. its about them hurting the horse
@@zevo9314 They eat horses in France does that upset you?
Absolutely more episodes on “this is not our job but let’s try it”
its like worlds most dangerous jobs but its just kinds normal jobs that are way more dangerous because rhett and link are doing it.
They had a whole series dedicated to that a few years back called “the backup plan”
PLEASE
@@ryanmarshall3406 unfortunately, i think it was more than 'a few years back'... but i remember it well!
“BILLLLL!”
Link whispering to Stevie that he wasn't gonna shoe the horse and then telling Rhett they needed to regroup was the best part. "What are you gonna do?" "Nothing."
"Noothing" lol I was dying
that moment his face looked SO MUCH like his dad's
I love how Butch kept encouraging Rhett to keep going, that's a great teacher right there!
Rhett may not be able to stand straight tomorrow, but, well done!!
I loved that too!!! Rhett is so fun to watch because of his interest in so many things!! I love that Rhett did that!!! I want to try it someday!!!
The moment Link finally told Stevie he wasn't going to do this was the moment I finally relaxed cause I was terrified of Link actually attempting this.
weirdly enough i was never worried link was going to do it. as soon as he saw butch do it his face was saying he wasnt gonna do it
I looked at the time right before he said he wasn't going to to do, because I was wondering when he was going to go lol
I kept looking at the time code going “okay link either absolutely nails this (pun intended) or he doesn’t do it at all”
is there a time stamp?
Lol as soon as they started the episode I was shocked they thought Link would go through with it.
I tell you what, that Butch was THE RIGHT MAN for the job and this show… he was patient and calm,he was a good teacher and he handled himself and the crew well… I’m very impressed! I wish I could learn under a guy like this every day!
I realize now that this was likely sarcasm. Lol.
Whether or not it was sarcasm I agree xD
@@tylerengland4427 Huh? He WAS right for the show imo. He's just full of sarcasm lmao. He knew the horse wasn't gonna do anything, he just hammed it up for the show. 😂
He acted irritated the whole time.
@@voluptuousvince6522 Nah, the horse wasn't irritated. 😊🐴
OMG this horse is THE chillest, MOST patient animal ever! Good job Mac!
I wouldn’t have even been that chill if they were cutting my toenails with regular clippers. That horse and Max deserve a raise!!!

Butch just saying “uh no” to every time Link suggested or proposed a scenario make me laugh
I just noticed that after watching the whole thing. 🤣🤣🤣
I love how Link is completely there for Rhett, being his knee stool and wiping the sweat from his brow. Such a good buddy!
Sibling energy tbh. Love it.
Butch being 100% professional while they’re trying to land as many jokes as they can is my kind of dry comedy 🤣🤣
He was a good sport.
the woman was enjoying it tho
seeing rhett next to a horse really puts his height in perspective
Yes but also horses range in heights enormously
I thought the exact same thing. Tall daddy 🤣
I thought that was aoc
That horse doesnt look too big

Link awkwardly crouching behind Rhett to give him a seat may be peak friendship for them 😂
The bro energy was top notch.
That was the sweetest.
They've had a ton of peak friendship moments, this was by far the most wholesome
They’re officially 100% LA now
I just watched an episode where Link keeps randomly feeding Rhett strawberries. No words, just pops 'em in. Pretty wholesome in the same way lmaoo.
Rhett taking the nail and saying “is that copper nail?” Was the most genuine dad thing I’ve ever seen him do

Highly recommend a series of common man tasks with R&L being funny, while doing things like changing oil in a car or building a birdhouse, etc.
YESSSSS
Ah yes, a common man task: building a bird house
(thanks for making me giggle)
Ditto!
Isn't there a guy on UA-cam who teaches everyday stuff for people who for some reason or another didn't learn from their own dad? Because they should totally do that with him
agreeee
Rhett did a great job, all sweaty and in pain while Link says "I'm exhausted" lol. Loved this episode, never realized how hard it was, when you see it from someone like Butch it looks so easy!
17:26 😅
Link's obvious concern for Rhett's well-being is endearing
I just kept thinking "there is no way they are going to let Link do this"
I don't think Link was going to let Link do it 😂
Liability 💀😂
I was very concerned, because he would have been so afraid to hurt Mac, that he would have felt it and kicked Link into oblivion. Thank goodness that he sometimes knows his limits lol
Right! I was so nervous about it, and felt such relief when he said he wasn't gonna do it. 😅
Link: Does anyone need any almonds or something? 😆
My favorite farrier story: when I was a kid, the farrier came to shoe our horses and my mom was holding her gelding while the farrier worked. When he was almost done, my mom said "you're doing great, big boy" (talking to the horse), and the farrier looked up and said "thank you!"
She has never lived that down.
😂😂😂😂
I have witnessed many similar jokes in my barn too😂
I’m not going to lie, yes this was stressful lmao but Link’s comedy relief and Rhett’s true genuine interest + myself as a viewer learning something has made this one of the best episodes.
Couldn't have said it better
It was so wholesome yet so stressful to watch.
Gooba gaba! Nub nub?
“I thought it was chap”
“That’s what happens to your lips in the wind”
😂 underrated joke
It was his completely relaxed delivery of it too. It's one of those ones that sinks in slowly and it makes it even funnier.
underrated joke!
I bet until they had this horse in the studio the whole crew was like, “Are we really doing this?”
Probably even after the horse was in the studio, too! Haha!
You can sense the anxiety of the crew with how quiet everyone is being as to not startle the horse
I am sure they all felt like this was not a good idea throughout the whole time and even after. this was a big fail lol
before during and after
@@mindom seriously, no entertainment in this episode at all. No game, no education, no bits, no point at all.
lmao this horse is like "wtf?" but he's so patient. What a sweet horse. Butch did such a good job instructing too!
It always frustrates me that the experimental, atypical episodes perform poorly compared to the regular ol’ food episodes. F the algorithm! This kind of creative and unique content is awesome, and I hope we get to see more videos like this!
Rhett's slow and steady breakdown is beautiful - it's a horse crash in slow motion. Link quickly realizing that he will probably nail himself to a horse was the strawberry on top of the shortcake.
is that 2 horse puns? fr?
i’m so proud of rhett, honestly. he put so much effort into learning, i can’t imagine how stressful it’d be
The utter panic and fluster when Rhett said "I'm 6 foot 7!" And the look in his eyes 🤣
We still LOVED this video because:
A) you’re bringing joy into this world, and you know we need it!
B) trying new things is hard and it’s great to see vulnerability from you so that we know we won’t always be perfect the first time we try something and that’s ok!
And C) this goes to show that sometimes what seems easy enough when we see it in TikTok isn’t always as easy as it looks in real life. Horse-shoeing takes skill!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Oh, fer sher,. Trying new things is what the show does best
Your making it seem like this was life changing for you
@@powerslohner6728 you're* ...what if it was?
I hated it. BRING BACK PUTT PUTT
I don't know what this says about me but the whole awkward vibe of Rhett trying so hard but low-key failing and Link throwing random jokes + the merch reminder is 100% my sense of humor
Butch looks like my dad when he would try to help with my math homework
calm and explanatory, but also deeply seething frustration and rage
Link: "He's smarter than me!"
Rhett, with zero hesitation: "Yeah."
Tall man doing short tasks: a series. lol come on Rhett it’d be pretty funny 😆
You may be onto something.
This made me laugh! I want to see this! Tell men, cos Link ain’t short either. 🤣
Yes please! Omg would be so funny!
I hope they see this comment, it's a really funny idea 😂
That is actually genius haha!
Butch seems like a great teacher- very zen & reassuring.
He really was! Kept his cool and so did the horse.
He also seems like a no-bs guy. He wasn't too happy about Link quipping all the time and talking over him while he was instructing them. Even Link was mostly quiet half of the show. Good tamer
He’s got this deadpan sense of humor that I just find really funny.
The horse was really patient too!!
True, but I could definitely tell he was a bit frustrated with Rhett even though he was trying to stay calm.
As much as I wish Link would have tried it too it’s probably for the best that he didn’t lol. Kudos to Rhett for sticking to it even with his back problems and clearly being too tall for this profession.
OOF as an equestrian seeing the title of this video I was so concerned but Butch was the perfect choice. He kept a close eye and didn’t let things go too far where Mac could’ve gotten hurt. Farriers are badasses and work super hard! Shoutout to Rhett for giving it a go and shoutout to Link for doing what I always do when the farrier comes to my barn and just enjoy the work from afar 😂
Was looking to make sure the horse was okay before watching the full video. Thank you 🤍🤍🧚🏻♀️
@@ellycd Part of the job is to keep the horse safe. Reputation depicts how much work a farrier gets.

Mac was such a good boy for them, being patient and understanding that a goofball was trying to learn. And Butch was the right man for the job to teach them how to do things right. Well done.
Man, I loved Butch so much - His calm, collected tone and style of teaching was exactly what R&L needed for something like this, and his deadpan humour was absolutely hilarious.
Even as someone who works with horses often, I'd be terrified of messing up shoeing a horse! Loved that Butch was so patient with them and Mac too!

I love how Rhett is dressed for the occasion but link got his hoochie daddy shorts on ready for the summah 😂😂
TOTAL summer dad outfit for sure lololol
I know!! As I first saw the episode I thought "who told Link shorts were ok??"
link is dressed exactly like the "nephew from the city come visiting the relatives' farm", the fact that he just watched the whole time it's so fitting with the outfit lol
Link was so supportive throughout the whole experience, despite being obviously terrified. That’s what a best friend looks like.
Man, you can really tell just how freakishly tall Rhett is when he's standing next to a full grown horse and towering over it lmao
As someone who has cleaned a horses foot before, I never realized how much my 4' 11" height gave me an advantage there 🤣
We need more of Rhett and Link learn! Go on some mythical field trips! I’d love to see link learn something like scuba or skydiving. Rhett, as he just proved can do it all already.
Link is actually currently in the process of learning to scuba dive! He talked about it on Ear Biscuits.
In this outfit Link looks like he’s a Barbie ken doll, even his hair is as stiff as one of those little dolls.
He was cute as a button. And it looks like he shaved his legs
The Ferrier was fantastic! He deserves a medal. Koodos to Rhett for giving it a big effort and A huge round of applause for Max the horse for being so chill and lovely!
Hey sabdra👋😂
I got such a kid confiding in his mom vibes when Link whispered to Stevie that he wasn’t going to do this. 😂
I literally thought that!
Usually a dedicated silent viewer here but after watching gmmore I felt the need to comment that this was a great episode in every way! Thanks to all involved for always bringing joy to my day!!!
Respect to Butch for being a professional and understanding that Rhett and Link also need to be content creators while walking them through this process while Rhett and Link tried to keep the content and viewer engagement 👏
That was so stressful but man Butch came through in a big way! No wonder he is great around horses. I bet they love his chill energy.

That horse was extremely chill as well 😂
This horse is the real MVP. Just chill and patient while they stumble and argue with each other as usual. Gold
He likely didn't mind it. He got to just chill there while they argued.
link helping Rhett by becoming a human chair essentially was actually really sweet
Oh my word, I was so worried about Rhett's back and legs with all that static squatting! Hope he's okay!
God for bid he gains alittle muscle 😯
I kept imagining Rhett holding the horses leg between his and him falling forward and twisting the horse leg and hurting himself as well. Happy no one got hurt.
With the problems Rhett has with his back, this was the last thing he needed to be doing. I hope you’re OK Rhett! 🥰

"Maybe we should've started with a miniature horse." As someone with a very small pony, no you shouldn't have. The margins for error are very very small when working with them, my farrier has special, smaller tools for doing my little mare's feet. This was a nerve-wracking episode as a equestrian, kudos to Butch for not letting things go too far and to Mac for being very relaxed and well-behaved the whole time. My horses would never have allowed that! They're all very chill but they wouldn't tolerate so much manipulation.
It would have been a night...mare
Oh, how cute! Little tools for a teeny horse.
Seriously this horse is the chillest horse I’ve ever seen. No wonder they use him for TV stuff. And I’m sure this isn’t the first time he has used him for shoeing demonstrations, though I’m sure not in this strange context. 🤭😅
The smaller the horse, the bigger the attitude lol
The little horse was surely a joke, and I think the man knows what his horse can handle...
Loved this episode. Big “The Backup Plan” vibes. I’d love to see Rhett and Link learning to do things like this more.

Trimming horses feet is so hard if its the first time you've ever done it, i had to become my ponies personal farrier last month for the first time, legs were jello, hands hurt, i was sweating and needed many water breaks but her feet looked great in the end 😂

Underrated comment 😂
This is my favorite comment on here 🤣
That sweat drip from Rhett's brow at 12:29 tells me exactly how difficult this is lol. I'm impressed
The amount of times that Link just casually stood directly behind the horse made me tense… 🤣 I have worked with horses for years, no matter how much you trust the horse, don’t stand directly behind the horse. Ever. 🤣
I WAS GOING GETTING TENSE TOO!!! I have a really strong bond with a horse (so strong she gets protective if I'm vulnerable) and I ALWAYS touch her ass when going behind her.
Rhett’s struggle to get low enough to the ground to properly work on the horse’s foot makes me grateful I’m short 😂
Rhett looked legitimately concerned when he said “We’re gonna let Link do this?” 😂
Link was being so supportive and encouraging to both Rhett and Mac during that whole process ♥️
Damn, Chase's costumes get more realistic by the day
I feel like butch underestimated how much of a struggle this actually was for Rhett being so tall.
I love how he was hilariously unimpressed by Rhett’s efforts 😂😂

As an equestrian I saw the title of this video I was like “there’s no way” and as soon as I started watching all I could do was laugh. Bless their hearts for trying. 🤣🤣🤣
Link was so concerned for his buddy. 🥺❤️
I really do appreciate their hesitation and honesty when it came to not doing the parts they didn't feel confident, it really showed they weren't willing to risk hurting the horse for the sake of entertainment. I respect Rhett and Link so much ♥️♥️♥️

This episode made me laugh way too hard. The lack of horse knowledge from Rhett and Link is just too much. 😂😂😂😂 They’re like, so interested and concerned. “Gotta turn the AC up.” LMAO because a HORSE is in the studio. 🤣🤣🤣
Did you see Butch's sweat soaked shirt?
Butch's hat was even sweating. Rhett noticed very early on and I'm glad he said something although I'm sure Butch is used to shoeing outside in the heat so idk if he minded
That was awesome. Dude was so patient and chill with the guys. I'd definitely vote for a series of them doing things like this
I love how Link was working overtime as comedy relief to try and ease the tension and also being so supportive to Rhett and the Mac. The constant check ins, literally trying to be Rhett’s stool. Like I know Link didn’t do anything horse-wise but he did contribute a lot it was so cute 😭
15:35 I just know Rhett was having second thoughts when he looked in that camera 😂
I felt so intensely involved in this episode. Please can we have more of this! It was so interesting! I find myself going back to rewatch all of the animal based episodes because of the dynamic between the guys and the potential for disruption that the animal/s create. I love it! Great episode, thank you! Plus Mac and the farrier dude were so chill.
I’m so perplexed at how perplexed they are just at the sight of a horse. They are so adorable. Link looks like a little kid in this episode. They are so endearing. Also, thank you Butch, for teaching the internet how to actually pronounce chaps correctly.
Eveyone did great this episode! Butch was a perfect teacher for these two. He made sure eveyone was safe while still having a good time. And Mac! What a good boy he is! So patient and sweet.
I know some people in the comments have some mixed feelings about Butch, but you need someone professional and no nonsense for this type of work. Butch did fantastic and is great at his job!

“i need something butch” i cannot BREATHE. this episode had me crying laughing, one of my favorites.
I don’t think I’ve ever been so nervous for Rhett. 😆😆😆
WE NEED MORE OF THIS!!! Props to whoever pitched in this episode's idea, I definitely would love Link overcoming his fear and Rhett completing a couple of horseshoes.
Also, Link... you're the best friend everyone needs.💕
My dad has been a farrier for 25 years. It was really cool to see others learning about this and to recognize exactly what he was doing.
This was genuinely an interesting and entertaining
Learning experience and would enjoy more episodes like this
I love how Butch was so dry and humorless about everything.
I want Butch to be one of the "voices of support", like Rhett & Link's parents are, in the Mythical game episodes.
The more frustrated Rhett gets the more link makes awkward jokes 😂😂
this is such an odd concept for a video but honestly it’s really interesting
Made me think of picture picture from Mr. Roger's Neighborhood
100% respect to the farrier and dealing with Rhett and Link while also trying to teach them and he absolutely deserves the love hes getting in the comments, but can we talk about what a good boy Mac is? He was so gentle the whole time having a stranger reshoe him. Horse can absolutely be the gentlest beasts, but even the best of horses can struggle with farriers especially someone who has NEVER done this before. Yes, its basically just a toenail, but it still can be frustrating for them to have their feet and legs handled.
Butch definitely is super skilled at his job, id absolutely trust him as my farrier
Finally someone praising someone for doing their job whist not saying they deserve a "higher compensation"!
This may have been the most dangerous episode of the past 7 or 8 years 😅
