  • Here comes the fun part of reaper!
Welcome back to audio access for another reaper video which I’ve showed you the basics of midi.
MIDI stands for musical instrument digital interface, and it is a protocol developed in the 1980's which allows electronic instruments and other digital musical tools to communicate with each other.
MIDI itself does not make sound, it is just a series of messages like "note on," "note off," "note/pitch," "pitch bend," and many more. These messages are interpreted by a MIDI instrument to produce sound in this case, by using reaper!
Please watch the video completely and you will get the idea on the power of reaper.
I’ve explained the basics of using midi and also how I use midi to record music performances.
For now, watch the video and try to get an idea on how these things works together, and I will be creating more tutorials on the concepts of midi in the near future.
Here are some resources to get you started.
    CAVI Courses:
For a few years, CAVI (Cisco Academy for the Vision Impaired) ran popular courses designed for people who were getting started with Audio Production and more specifically, Reaper.
In March 2018, all of the previously available audio related course materials were released for free. The links to the actual audio content have since been pulled, but Daniel Wolak has once again saved the day. Use the following links to browse and download the audio content from his server:

A big thanks to the folks at CAVI for providing this wonderfull opertunity!

Is it possible to remix an existing song in Reaper? For example let's say i downloaded an mp3-file from youtube with no copyrighted sounds and i wanted to change the speed, possibly add more base to the track and that stuff. If that is possible, please do a tutorial about it.
