- In the south of Algeria, in the red desert of the Touat and Gourara regions, lies Timimoun "the flamboyant", one of the most beautiful oases in Africa.
Here, the inhabitants devote their everyday life to the foggaras: a thousand-year-old irrigation system respectful of the environment, but threatened with disappearance by modern techniques that are much less so.
The gardeners of the desert who perpetuate this tradition are also known for their hospitality. In the Berber cultural tradition, a traveller is always made welcome.

What an absolutely beautiful, peaceful way to live; tending to a few animals and a garden, raise a family. Simple.
What a wonderful présentation....think you for sgaring
You are welcome !
This document reminded me of the time when once i was in Mecca. They prayed for rain to come . After praying when i was on my way to hotel it started to rain . One of my group elderly told me it was always same. As soon as the prayers are over it starts to rain.
May Gods Blessings Rains upon the Berber People in the Sahara!!!!!
VERAMENTE MERAVIGLIOSO
Muchas gracias!
This is a fascinating and well done documentary. How much longer will this oasis survive?
Masha Allah very beautiful videos and very interested life is very hard God bless you all Ameen
As a "1st world" person I am ashamed of how I, and my country's citizens have become lazy and spoiled. We are so dependent on a society set up for failure.
So much respect and admiration to the people in these regions of Algeria. They are self sufficient and strong and will be around for ages to come provided that they are not changed by the west.
Very good work, it gave me piece of mind
Amazing documentary ❤
Thanks so much!!
Beautifull
My concern is that this landscape could be a future landscape for much of the US Midwest states like Kansas, and Iowa and Nebraska. Places that are still being cultivated in industrial methods that are contributing to top soil loss on an alarming rate each year.
Wonderful documentary
Every August the 15th in Samarina, Grevena, Greece, hundreds of people gather from all over the world and dance in rows of young men, old men and women around the church...Same picture, same sound! Don't forget godess Athena was of Berber origin...
🥰🇮🇪👍☝️
At least I have enough from the advertisement and will see the other Reports without in.
whoever writing the script is definitely view these people as lesser, the tone is straight from blue planet narrating animals.
Are you suprised? They always use this condescending tone with none European indigenous cultures! But if it's a documentary about the ancient runs of ancient Greece or Rome you will never hear that tone.
ALGERIAN government need to stop teaching French in school because its not worth it anymore. French is no longer the language of commerce in the world and can only benefit you if you wann work in Algeria or France. They need to implement more English and Mandarin in schools now because its the real global language now and Mandarin Chinese gonna be the next world language soon. By Learning English they can work everywhere they want in the world. French only give limited acces to the world...if you go to Asia nobody gonna speak French with you bt they all understand English.
Dromedaries? Been long times since i heard anyone using greek words for camels xD.
