Congrats on the new skid steer. The amount of side work you can pick up or heck even start your own will be more then enough to pay for it. Cant wait too see it.

Thanks, buddy. Yes, that would be great. If I can get her on board and proficient we could really do some damage then making some new ponds and so forth. :-)
I love mine so far I believe you'll be satisfied for sure. Also after watching you get your E42 that convinced me to go ahead and get the E50 a couple years ago. I'm a former PBA member 15 years 👍. We probably have a lot in common.

The 259D3 we use come with all the add-ons you put on the Bobcat. Both are great but we went with Cat. The track suspension and load control is great on it.
Glad you figured out what one you wanted, lol, most of what you said was Greek to me but I'm happy for you. Stay safe, be careful, take it easy, enjoy and keep warm.
Sounds like you are doing a lot better financially. I can remember you having conversations about money before and now you have a new tractor, an excavator and skid steer..
Joe you will really like it . I'm a landscaper by trade 35 years . I run them everyday . I've ran them all. Cat , Kubota, John Deere, Gehl, New Holland , Bobcat . Just upgraded this year from a T 190 to the T 550 absolutly, love it, so will you. Congrats on your purchase, love your channel. Keep up the great work, Mrs Kapper will be easy to teach to use the machine 😆
Congratulations Kapper❤️. You definitely did your homework! To be honest up until a few years ago I called a skid steer a Bobcat. ! My neighbor bought one they said would never run again under 1k and fixed it for less than 3k. It’s terrific Mrs. Kapper is going to learn to use the machines. She be awesome at running those machines. That has to be a huge load off your shoulders for when you face surgeries. If your like me, I don’t want anyone around when resting in hospital after surgeries. Plus having service close with the dealer that sold you the mini excavator is awesome. Joe the one very important feature you have not talked about, that was always a must have for you, was not mentioned. 😂😂😂😂. Do you recall that feature. Mrs. Kapper teased you about it. If you need a hint mention in reply.
I just spent a week with a rental T450. After that that, I’m now considering my own but prob a T650 instead. Felt like the T450 was just a touch light. Though this is all personal use
Well no new work shop for Mrs Kapper......How about some upgrades for the Mrs there Joe!!! Imagine what she could make with the toy upgrades like you get....
Bobcat is hands down the best people for skid steers out there, they are the ones who created the skid steer! I’ll tell you right now it will treat you good my man! Have a great week!
You should be happy you did not pick Gehl. I got an RT250 with all the bells and whistles. The thing is amazing for digging and pushing but what i bought it for was the high flow of the machine. They advertise some very high numbers for flow but they fail to mention it is an open flow system and if your high flow demands all the HP, you have nothing left to drive the machine or move the boom. I brought this up with a rep at husker harvest days and he just flat out told me i bought the wrong machine. He did nothing to try and help. I am planning to trade for the new style bobcats. Also, Gehl has a programmable creep gear; at least it did on the RT250.
This is going to be good to see this one in operation; especially the 'bush hogging',..that always a great video subject . It does come down to if you don't know the equipment,...you'd better know the dealer and or if you don't know the dealer then you'd better know the equipment. Your homework's done, now the results are in,...we'll see soon how this performs. Cheers Kapper!
Just got a S76 R series 2020. Absolutely the best thing ever. Blows away our 740s and that's saying something. Bob Cat teaming with Doosan or whatever way you want to see it is not a bad thing. I want bang for the buck and Bob Cat is the one for my money.
Interesting because I just went through this same decision. I also ended up looking at the Bobcat T595 or T650 and the Cat 259D. I ended up with the Cat 259D. Did you end up doing a demo on these units? That didn't put me over the edge but it certainly helped. It just felt like Cat was a step or two above in terms of the cab environment, comfort and just sophistication I guess. But in the end what really made my decision for me was resale value. The Cats hold their value better than the Bobcats. Also, I was concerned about the fact that Bobcat is about to release an entire new line up of skid steers and didn't want to have to compete with that when I go to sell mine in 3 to 5 years. Oh, and once you put the counterweight on that 259D it lifts quite a bit and they have excellent breakout force. I really don't think you can go wrong with either manufacturer.
Yes they are both solid machines no doubt. I think that the Bobcat cab is laid out much better and makes more sense. Not sure on resale value, you could be right, but overall it was the best package deal for us. Good luck with the new CAT!
No, I don't do my own service on it, I take it in for all scheduled service. I'm sure it is pretty easy as most manufacturer's these days are making the regular service and filters pretty simple. But for me it is just easier to have them do it. Thanks.
We had a t650 cat289 Deere 325 and went and looked at all the others. It came down to bobcat and cat and the deciding factor was running hydraulics the bobcat slowed down opening and closing a grapple as the 289d didn’t.
That's because Bobcat cheaped out with their hydraulic system. Cat is the only one still using a proper pump and system in general. I can't remember off the top of my head what it's called but all the manufacturers stepped away from that system because it became cost prohibitive except Cat. Not everyone needs the hydraulics to perform at a high level but if you do then Cat is by far the better choice. I think that is why you see Cat skid steers being used on construction sites where the tools demand more power and the Bobcats are used mostly by landscapers.
SuburbanHobbyist I had no idea about that, I guess I’m just happy we tested them all before we bought and got a cat and for what we do it’s definitely nice having really strong hydraulics
Well, let me know where you live, this Dealer has shops in multiple states and they will treat you right! If you are interested I'll get the info on the closest one to you. Thanks.
It’s not always about specs. There’s videos of John Deere skid steers blowing every other brand out of the water. I’ve run Bobcat, ASV, CAT, Case, John Deere, Takeuchi, and Kubota machines. Of all those brands, in my opinion, John Deere is the best.
You must be talking about all those John Deere "skid steer olympics" videos they held and put out a few years ago lol. That was hilarious. So they set all that up and made it look like it wasn't biased towards them but then they specifically set up each task to suit whatever the Deere was better at over the competition. I hope you realize that each manufacturer could easily do the same thing and make Deere look horrible as well. All these manufacturers have advantages and disadvantages. My biggest issue with Deere is the weight of their machines is insane. For the same specs their machines are easily 2500 to 3000 lbs heavier. But they also have other issues I didn't like. Their biggest advantage is they can lift more. That's about it really but that is because they are extremely heavy.
Good choice I’ve been running bobcat for 20 plus yrs. I can honestly say they have definitely treated me real good. Take care of it and it will take care of you . One thing I can never understand is why do all other manufacturers put those lil baby buckets on there machine s . It looks so ridiculous and if you’re moving materials all day there’s a lot more trips from pile to placement .
Right on man, the year I bought this Bobcat actually rebuilt the big material bucket and man, that thing is HUGE! An overflowing scoop if clay and man, you can really feel the weight and volume! I am actually selling my dump truck because I can move quite a bit of dirt pretty quick with that big material bucket. Thanks.
Have you compared the ASV-75 or 120 to any others. I'm thinking about buying one and looking for feed back. I am trying to compare cost and efficiency on different pieces of equipment to start a business. Any info will help. Thanks
No I did not, we are pretty rural and there was limited dealer support for ASV around here. Best of luck though! The bobcat(s) have been strong performers for us!
@@kapperoutdoors thanks, everything I'm getting from my research is that the ASV is an awesome piece of equipment. Of course everyone has there own opinions on what they like but for me not have used many different types of equipment and pretty much relying on reviews and specifications, the ASV is coming out on top so far. Thanks for responding.
We have had gehls on our farm forever and their very tough machines. It looks like on the new bobcat that the rear is very flimsy and if you backed into something it'd do damage where as the gehl looks alot tougher with thicker steel and a big bumper.
Can't speak for the Gehl's but the bobcats are hefty machines. That rear door is heavy steel, I have bumped it a few times on trees. The lights are also recessed for that reason. Thanks, and as long as you have a decent dealer they'd all be good.
Well Joe, I think you made a wise choice. It certainly will help around the properties. You still thinking hard about selling Megatron 2.0? You also considering that harley rake or do the plans lean towards renting it when you need to clean up the roads?
I'm glad you got what you wanted. But I'm going to tell something that time will teach you. You got all the bells and whistles on your machine and you will find that all of them will cost you money. After about two years they will stop working and IF they can be fix it will cost more to fix them than they are worth. Stay away from anything electric. If the machine was to be sitting outside all the time the in the weather the electric parts will stop working. Just look at the new JD tractors. They stay in the shop and you can't work on them. Because they won't let you have the tools to fix them. In digging you need a ridged arm machine. In the construction world you have a lift and carry machine. But you are not in the construction business. The longer you run your machine the better you will get. I will tell you one thing you need to know. When grading keep your bucket somewhat full. Never try grading with a empty bucket. Good luck to you.
Ok, iv been in the dirt business all my life I'm 56,first of all it baffles me to see anyone in dirt with a smooth mouth bucket, then when you see someone counter rotate that is just wrong, that is to use only if you are in trouble,I will never have another bobcat any thing,iv had three all were lemons, and our bobcat dealer is worthless in my and others opinion.i chose a cat this time and am very happy I really enjoy running it it has it all as of 2020 ,and my cat dealer is super good when it comes to an issue.i have ALL cat equipment now and always will, and on that brush cutter , hire yourself a good dozer you will be happier a couple years down the road😁
Lots of people use smooth buckets for dirt work. You can skim all day long except for maybe super dry and hard clay. Too bad you had bad experiences, but dealers are all different, some not so good I suppose. Thanks, I'm sure the CAT will treat you well, good machine no doubt.
Curious… why just these three track loaders and not other brands? Is that all u had locally? My father in law has a kubota svl 95-2 and it’s a beast. Bit pricey tho.
Yes, very good call. Kubota has a bad rap down here for poor service, and we are very remote so there is not a lot of choices. But I've been very happy with Bobcat, they have a good dealer and service network. Thanks.
Forgot Kubota , but ...Ive had both bobcat and Cat...service for bobcat is close , thats a good thing ...I have used these machines for a living for thirty years , Cat all the way for quality
Didn't have a Kubota dealer close with a good reputation so that was kind of off the list. They all have their strengths and short falls I'd say but all will get the jobs done. Thanks man, take care
Good service way out paces low price. When your down, getting back up and running is way more advantageous than low cost. I would pay more for a good servicing dealer than less cost from a poor service dealer. That's just me and I have all the dealers here so distance is not a problem. If Mrs K can run the zero turn, then the skid steer will be a piece of cake for her.
@@nickklubek1768 yeah and kubota parts are accully alot cheaper then other machines on the market wich why were planning getting rid of all our deere and newholland equipment and getting all kubotas wich pretty cheap 171hp M7-171 with loader, bucket, forks, blade and snowblower for $129,000 at my kubota dealer wich the deere wanted $289,999 for there 120hp with just a loader and bucket and newholland T5.115 a 115hp with loader and bucket was $139,900 wich was rediculas
@@michaelmactavish1728 They are definitely NOT cheaper. They are about the same cost as the rest. I just looked at the SV-65 and 75 two days ago. They are also not the strongest on the market. However, they are good machines. I really don't think you could wrong with any of the major manufacturers these days. I like Kubota skid steers but they are too heavy for their lifting capacity. Skid steers should be as light as possible while also being as strong as possible. Otherwise why buy a skid steer? There are plenty of other types of equipment you can buy if you don't mind hauling around 10,000 lb machines and up. The biggest issue I had with the Kubotas are the operator comfort. Those things are set up all wrong and it feels weird and uncomfortable. I think it has a lot to do with how they have the door coming up and into the cab.
We looked at a cat 259 and we had the same problems with it it was slower but then they gave us a cat 279 to try by far the best machine I’ve ever owned and I owned a bobcat t650 terex pt75 and now the 279 I will never go back to bobcat
All I can comment on is that it is mighty nice to have a friend, buddy and pal with a nice new skidsteer that does FAVORS!! lol

I run a Bob cat 870 with every option but wipers and backup camera I like it so far!
I was sure about the CAT but the access to service and implement rental definitely sealed the deal for a Bobcat, congrats. ;-)
LOL, yes. Remember what I told you about betting? But yes, it was a tough decision, but I had to look at the overall chess board.
Think your getting the best bang for the buck buddy and getting what you need and wanted. Sure you will be happy. Bob cat makes a good product 👍
Yes sir I agree. After all they did create the first actual skid steer. They have a great and solid machine. Thanks

Well, I was kind of biased, but for good reason! Had a great run with the e42 for a few years, and great service. Can't knock me for that! Thanks man.
Thanks.
Woohoo! Merry Christmas Kapper! So which Tonka toy does Mrs Kapper get?
She can ride any of them that she wants! Lol. Matter of fact we can get a lot more work done in a shorter time. :-)
Congrats
Definitely t650!!! Most Heavy duty Machine !! And reliable
Agreed! It has been a beast so far! Thanks.
Thanks Gary. Yes, I'm getting a power rake with the Bobcat, there are so many uses for it.
You made best choice;)
Did you compare with Kubota lvl 65 vs cat 259d3?
Yes compared them all, and for various reasons I chose the bobcat.
Nice Choice!!
Thanks! looking forward to it!
Not sure I agree, but that's why I got the 5 yr warranty. Fully covered... everything. Thanks
Which one did I get? Well, I'm wearing a Bobcat hat so wadda think?
Curious… why just these three track loaders and not other brands? Is that all u had locally? My father in law has a kubota svl 95-2 and it’s a beast. Bit pricey tho.
Yes, very good call. Kubota has a bad rap down here for poor service, and we are very remote so there is not a lot of choices. But I've been very happy with Bobcat, they have a good dealer and service network. Thanks.
So why is Gehl getting rid of the electric over hydraulic system?
Bobcat t595 lifts more than cat 259d . Good choice on t650
Roger that, I agree. Thanks
Dang it joe how in the heck am I going to be able to get a bobcat to keep up with the joneses
Well, you don't have to try to keep up just stick with us and tag along for the ride! LOL. It should be fun.
I bet you picked the one nobody else would, cos you got it cheap !
Not so. They are all great machines
Keep soldiering on man :)
Thanks man that's the plan!
Well in this case I got both! Great service and a good price package! Yeah I think she would enjoy playing in the dirt!! lol
You gave it away wearing the Dooson
I like the kubotas sliding door
yeah my buddy has 2 of them and hes looking into getting a 3rd one because there the most strongest loaders in the market and cheaper
Ya I like them good machines
@@suburbanhobbyist2752 my dealer usually sell them cheaper and less cost for customers plus he gives discounts on them too
Did you get high flow or low flow?🤔🤔🤔
Hi flow Was a must. I forgot to mention that thanks.
Did you ever try a Takeuchi TL?
No I priced it out, and the dealer was much farther away, so it got knocked out pretty quick on the price quote.
That Gehl still looks like a Takeuchi to me!
Back in 2012 they designed and started building their own track loader built here in the USA.
The T76 is a replacement for the T740, not the t650.
Just going by what the rep said and by the specs it seemed to make sense.
We looked at a cat 259 and we had the same problems with it it was slower but then they gave us a cat 279 to try by far the best machine I’ve ever owned and I owned a bobcat t650 terex pt75 and now the 279 I will never go back to bobcat
