Some folks wanted to know more about Fern's breakfast item. I think I can offer an explanation... It's a "Fern" variation on something I've had. Tofu pudding is a real thing in China. It's called "dou hua" 豆花, made of super-soft silky tofu that is as delicate as custard or flan. Southern Chinese like to eat it sweet - it's literally like flan or custard in a sweet soup. I grew up on it as a kid and I'd have it for breakfast or dessert. Northern Chinese like it savory, with soy sauce or meat. The thing is, Fern is vegetarian and absolutely loves Chinese food. I'm a huge fan of Fern, and I heard her on the "Off Menu" podcast hosted by James Acaster & Ed Gamble. One of her favorite Chinese dishes is "Ma La Tang" (Spicy Soup) 麻辣湯. So I think she took the concept of a savory tofu pudding and mashed it with Ma La Tang. She drenched this tofu pudding in a mountain of chili paste & chili oil (which is how you make Ma La Tang. She added some straw mushrooms and pickled radishes (all proper ingredients for a vegetarian) and maybe a poached egg. It's a weird result, and I would say it's a "Fern Special" (Ma La Tang + Dou Hua). Definitely not traditional, but still all-Chinese ingredients. Now, another type of breakfast soup is just simply a bowl of soy milk, served hot. Traditionally, we Chinese eat a bowl of soy milk (dou jiang 豆漿) for breakfast, with a fried noodle (you tiao 油條). With this bowl of soy milk, you can eat it sweet (with syrup) or savory (with soy sauce, chili, and a bit of pickles in it). The savory version can turn into a soup-like consistency if you add a bit of vinegar which curdles the soy milk, and it's absolutely wonderful. Fern is amazing. She even knows a bit of Chinese despite her incredible accent. I'd introduce her to my mom anytime. BTW one of her best friends is Phil Wang.
The one thing I couldn't take seriously when she talked about why she loves Chinese cuisine was that she said something like "Chinese people care about texture and not flavor" and even with my very very small knowledge of Chinese cuisine and culture knew that was completely wrong and way too sweeping of a statement about a country of over a billion people who are also famous for having an infinite number of vastly different cuisines. There are cuisines where spicy or savory or fishy flavors are the defining traits far more than textures. It's funny you bring up "Ma La Tang" because as I'm sure you know "Ma La" numbing spiciness is the defining trait of Sichuan cuisine and not texture at all.
@@charteon9092 Hahaha yes! But no! If only that were true, it would be hilarious. Fern talks about her outfit in the TM podcast. She asked a fashion friend of hers to design the outfit. Oh man, they should've left in the break transition before the sabotage task on UA-cam. Greg and Alex said something along the lines of 'This is quite tense and we'll see how it turns out after the break...' and Dara just responds 'Yeah, and there will be four chairs.' Amazing.
I do miss the three breaks. I know a lot of people skip them, but the only times I ever did were Season 10 or 11, whichever one was the last time they were on YT, and only because the silent pauses were awkwardly long.

I haven't seen a comment about it yet, so: aside from all the already-mentioned fan favorite moments, 24:49 makes me laugh every time I watch it. The music sounding mischievous while Munya is suffering through the olive-garnished ice cream, Alex reminding him of the "delicious" part of the task, and Munya struggling for a few more seconds in close-up before putting on a beaming smile with that sound design going on... just amazingly fun to watch (and listen to). Munya didn't even express the deliciousness verbally in that moment. 😂
That sabotage solo-task was brilliant, as not only did it add a new dynamic but also makes future contestants wary. Like if I'm participating in the newest seasons of the show and did research, the first thing I'm doing for team tasks is accusing each of my teammates that they're sabotaging.
Trust me no one will remember. They've had saboteurs in previous team tasks and I don't think anyone saw this coming. If even the fans who binge this show and study it pseudo-academically aren't on the lookout for it, no one will be
The saboteur bit was fantastic. But it shows how difficult it is to get that kind of thing right. There was genuine tension between John and Dara and Fern, mainly at the end of the task, but also more subtly in the studio (after that resentment had been brewing for four months) when the uber-competitive Dara found out he had lost - you somehow have to be able to pull it back and keep it light comedy. They did a great job, and I hope they use it again, but it's a bit unpredictable how it might play out.
I'd love to know if the feed the clown elephant and giraffes task was before or after the sabotage task. I could see Dara being so frustrated after the sabotage task and that's how he messed up the bell language task.
Honestly I'm surprised that for the prize task no one brought in a pillow. That was my first thought: "What I want most on a sunday morning is... to sleep through it."
No matter how many times I rewatch this, I still nearly have a stroke laughing in exasperation every time John pours/spills the hat and tube while saying “I thought it had to be in one thing!!” The perfect patsy and Alex played him like a fiddle.
The Sand in the Cart + Secret Sabotage might be my favourite task of the whole show. It was clever and hilarious to see the twist get revealed and all hell break loose. 😂

This cast, i feel, is the most complimentary to the others, and there were some legit classic, banger moments, some of the best stage tasks, the saboutage bit, kearns' nervous energy paired well with Munya and Fern's optimism and Dara and Sarah evened it out. This really is my favorite series
Today is a Struggle Day, it's difficult to move, it's difficult to find the motivation, there are more of these days lately. Then TM posts on Youtey and things aren't as bad as they seem, Thanks Taskmaster for posting these episodes, it really helps.

Losing my mind at the start of the ice cream task where John barges in, coat thrown to the floor, frantically opens the task as he stares at Alex with madness in his eyes, simply giggles maniacally after Alex tries to point out the ice cream, and then finally looks at the ice cream and goes "ooo!"
I’m increasingly convinced - especially if he wrote Greg’s introductory remarks to this episode - that Alex is a spree thrill-criminal by night; blending into the crowd by day, but once the sun sets, shoplifting from Tesco, picking pockets, torching abandoned properties, and stealing police cars … anything to feel alive!! Alex, please seek help.
As a longtime toothbrush marble bowl thruster I gotta commend Greg Davies for his excellent regulation form. He did it perfectly by the books. The pros would be proud

Not only was this an outstanding episode in my opinion, but I honestly think John Kearns sabotaging his team might be the single funniest fucking thing I've ever seen on this show. I had to pause it when he turned over the hat full of sand because I was laughing too hard to hear anything. That, and Fern Brady telling Greg, 'You seem like you just eat roasts' is one of the best one-liners in the show's history. PLUS, you have Greg's impression of Sarah at 13:05, which is delightful. And to top it all off, Alex finally pops his sweary-cherry on camera in grand style -- fuck's sake! -- making this top 5, if not top 3, material in TM annals. 10/10! THIS IS WHY I WATCH THE SHOW!!
14 Series - and this is the first sabotage task - but now it's there, it's always a possibility and future contestants will be forever paranoid, even if it never happens again. God I love taskmaster.
For me that twist makes the sand filling task the greatest team task they've ever done in all 15 series. It proves that this show goes to a whole new hilarious level when a task goes from fun party game or tricky problem solving to straight up psychological torture. It's why it's my single favourite comedy show either in the UK or here in North America.

4:20 Have you ever been so genuine that you accidentally unleash the greatest burn of all time?
Roasting somebody by saying that they look like they just eat roasts! 😂😂😂
@@A_O_Learyapparently the trolley task was the second team task filmed, so yeah, a pretty tense filming day
divide and conga is one of the best pieces of wordplay ever on this show 10:25
The way the sand slid out of the hat in perfect shape was beautiful.
Just wait until you learn about sandcastles, it's going to blow your fucking mind.
Thats wild how this show is just posted straight to UA-cam. You are doing God's work, Taskmaster
Dara, John, and Fern are the most dysfunctional team I've ever seen on Taskmaster, and I love it.
What a tense studio task, tension swiftly broken by Alex failing to measure the decibels properly, but tense nonetheless
John’s deranged laughter as he betrays his team is maybe the funniest part. Just fully cackling as he dumps out the hat, amazing
It still cracks me up every single time I watch an episode and randomly remember that Alex is, in fact, the boss.
I love Alex breaking character at least twice this episode. The "fucksake" and him laughing at the marbles
Greg: "Team 3, talk us through your tactics."
team 3: responds with silent shame
I said it last week, but whoever booked these as the teams did an excellent job! And casting John as the mole was another stroke of genius.
4:11 probably one of my favorite taskmaster lines of all time
1:04 That this worked shows just how much authority Greg has over the audience as the Taskmaster
I'm so glad greg gave the prize task to John. That business card from a stranger would make my day also!
Dara is a genius in this series. I laugh in the dead of the night even.
The sabotage made that task sooooo much better.
Honestly I'm surprised that for the prize task no one brought in a pillow. That was my first thought: "What I want most on a sunday morning is... to sleep through it."
😂 Hearing Alex swear twice and then calmly mess up the last task had me dying. I love him so much.
No matter how many times I rewatch this, I still nearly have a stroke laughing in exasperation every time John pours/spills the hat and tube while saying “I thought it had to be in one thing!!”
The perfect patsy and Alex played him like a fiddle.
The Sand in the Cart + Secret Sabotage might be my favourite task of the whole show. It was clever and hilarious to see the twist get revealed and all hell break loose. 😂
4:10 I love how Fern's pure heart can make Alex break character that hard
Dara and Fern are professional comedians enough to know that John had only one decision to make; go for the biggest laugh which in this case was to do exactly what he did and bless him for it. One of the funniest things Ive seen - for the 15th time. Cry-laughing
"Divide and Conga" was brilliant wordplay
I need an extra video of Alex and Greg just making all the sounds they had to skip!
It's in the outtakes!
rewatching this series and damn i forgot how great it was. This cast, i feel, is the most complimentary to the others, and there were some legit classic, banger moments, some of the best stage tasks, the saboutage bit, kearns' nervous energy paired well with Munya and Fern's optimism and Dara and Sarah evened it out. This really is my favorite series
Me too! I've been rewatching my favorite series this year. 4, 5, 11, 14, 15, and 16. I think 14 is my all-time favorite!
Agree. Currently rewatching and I love TM 7 as much as the next person but nothing comes close to 14.
Thank you Mr.Kearns, for the life advice that will see me through every weekend henceforth
10:37 best reaction to a line in the entire series by Sarah.
Today is a Struggle Day, it's difficult to move, it's difficult to find the motivation, there are more of these days lately. Then TM posts on Youtey and things aren't as bad as they seem, Thanks Taskmaster for posting these episodes, it really helps.
I can recommend all the Big Fat Quizzes. I find them quite hilarious.
@@slake9727 192cm 24 stone, I'm a HUGE Fan of the BFQ's
David Mitchell’s Outsiders might give you some chuckles. I howled. And it’s chock full of your goofy taskmaster competitors. Just in case you need a few additional laughs💕
John’s look to camera at 16:50 absolutely kills me 😂
Losing my mind at the start of the ice cream task where John barges in, coat thrown to the floor, frantically opens the task as he stares at Alex with madness in his eyes, simply giggles maniacally after Alex tries to point out the ice cream, and then finally looks at the ice cream and goes "ooo!"
think this is genuinely the best episode of all of Taskmaster to date (including new seasons up to now)
I could listen to Fern all day.
The human caterpillar, with the saboteur in the middle, is too much for me. I'm crying and I can't breathe! 😂😂😂
As a longtime toothbrush marble bowl thruster I gotta commend Greg Davies for his excellent regulation form. He did it perfectly by the books. The pros would be proud
“Sent home for trying to eat his hood”. I laughed so hard!!! I will giggle about that for the rest of my life!
Between the catch task and the live task, may this forever live on as the “Alex Fails” episode.
Perhaps the best taskmaster episode in history oh man. the sabotage task was absolutely incredible
John took the task very seriously. He has been sabotizing every task in the series thus far.
And I’m weirdly not enjoying it although I usually do.
This is by far and away my favorite episode! Seeing the animosity between John, Dara and Fern is beautiful! All the evil intentions of my soul come alive during the betrayal segment. I laugh every time and almost pee myself.
The outtake of Fern hopping was just brilliant.
They make jabbing a toothbrush into a marble bowl seem so normal and sophisticated 😂
Fern looks so lovely in the studio during this episode. I love her hair like that.
How was this ep not called "Divide and Conga" LOL that's literally brilliant
14 Series - and this is the first sabotage task - but now it's there, it's always a possibility and future contestants will be forever paranoid, even if it never happens again.
God I love taskmaster.
John’s glee during the sabotage task will never not be funny. 🤣🤣🤣
I didn't expect it, but I think this is my favourite set of people so far. I can't stop giggling to myself.
The way John comes into the lab for the ice cream task! 😂😂😂
Riding the White Lightning!
That was the most regulation toothbrush thrusting I have ever seen.
Dara is really good at this show
I'm already looking for champion of champions III with him against Mae Martin
@@NT-lq3lq spoilers 😂
Dara is what we thought Paul and Victoria were gonna be. Mae is great at Taskmaster.
I like competition and everything but overall I want to have fun and laugh. Noel and Mel making a sandwich is by far my favourite moment in TM history.
John Kearns has serial killer energy.
Can't help wanting to know if Sarah can do her horn noise louder than an actual horn.
This was the first time it registered for me that John throws his jacket like a boss for each task. I love it and never noticed it
4:17 i thought Jimmy Carr was in the audience laughin, but its Little Alex Horne
The infamous team task of series 14! Enjoy, everyone seeing it for the first time.
I love Chihuahua saying his hips are being handled 😂 and saying he consents 🤣
