The Maus is a German tier 10 heavy tank. The Maus marks the end of its German heavy line.
Developed from June 1942 through July 1944, with two prototypes produced, only one of which received a turret and armament.
The heaviest (although, thanks to the Type 5 Heavy, no longer biggest) tank in World of Tanks, the Maus is certainly a mammoth tank, with the largest health pool of any other vehicle currently in the game. Combining that immense hitpoint count with some of the thickest tank armor around means that if an enemy vehicles gun lacks any significant penetration capability, fighting the Maus will not go well. However, the lack of sloping anywhere on the tank, except for the frontal armor, can allow tank guns with adequate penetration to punch through the sides and rear with relative ease; even more so if the Maus is not angled properly. Additionally, weaknesses in the frontal armor such as the lower glacis plate are fairly large and can be reliably targeted. Another weakness when engaging this tank from the front is to shoot at its turret "cheeks" because despite their sloped appearance and high armor values, the turret cheeks are mostly flat mid center and will rarely withstand a shell with sufficient penetration. This can be quite difficult to achieve, however, if the driver turns the turret away to angle the armor. In fact, most of the aforementioned weaknesses can be negated by simply positioning the tank in a way that makes incoming shells impact at an angle.

WG needs to rework how it rewards players with epic games like this. Loosing credits for this show is shameful.

This game sucks now. I have played for 9 years and they took away general chat, which was a good recruiting location for clans, and changed Tour of Duty to where casual clans like mine get no benefit from it. I did clan wars, Advances, and Stronghold competitions from 2015-2017 and left that clan in 2020 to start my own casual clan for retired clan wars players. Plus arty is so weak now that a side hit on a light tank only did 33% damage. Sad, this used to be a great game from 2014 to 2019, then it started going downhill and hasn't stopped since. I don't even play much anymore and many of the long time friends I had have quit playing as well. Sad WG developers made these bad changes, hope WG gets new developers and brings back many of the good changes they got rid of, I doubt it though.
I just got started in 2019, so I never saw the good days that you speak of. I love playing arty and was so mad when they nerfed them that I almost quit playing!
It hasn't been a freshing game of skill for along time like you say, way too many mods for the simpletons to play. Much better to watch and enjoy the insanity that the game has become, I left in 2017 so I know what you're saying about the early days.
@@kevfinn8232 I log in mostly to talk with friends and keep an eye on my clan, not much playing anymore.
@@kevfinn8232 I decided to stay because I'm still having fun. Today I played 15 battles and only won 4 of them. MM kept putting me on noob teams and stacking the roster against us, like 2 heavies against one, multiple unicums on enemy team, while mine had players with less than 500 battles! But, that allowed me to be #1 in damage and XP in most battles and almost always in the top 3! So, my WTR just keeps going up and I'm making a ton of credits too! Of course my win rate suffers, but you can't have everything!
Well, the real fun was the first several month after the game was released in August 2010. I joined in September. They destroyed everything with one version, sometime in the middle of 2011, when they made the size of the aim circle to match the width of your screen.

Great play by the Maus player although he needs to learn to protect his glacis a bit better. He lost way too much HP by exposing it.

Everyone shoots gold at the Maus, why is it wrong to return the favor? I load ALL gold when I play my Maus and JPE100. It’s not pay to win, it’s just smart play.

@@johndoran3274 this game is one of the best examples of p2w. If you deal more damage and penetrate better using premium ammo which costs real money, that's p2w by definition.
@@BleedForTheWorld it costs credits, not real money. You play a credit making tank and save up to buy the premium ammo. Pay to win would be using something a F2P player could not use. Premium ammo doesn’t make anyone a better player, you still need to understand the game mechanics.
@@johndoran3274 using gold ammo means you have a much higher chance of penetration and dealing more damage. If you have a large enough bank account, you can do this even if you don't have silver, thus, pay to win. That's the literal definition of it. I won't accept Newspeak.
