    @PvtRager If its going to be your only snake , go ahead and get an aquarium to hold it and it will be fine.People with more than one snake and breeders usually opt for racks or stackable caging for better utilization of space and ease of cleaning.

    I think it would be a great video to talk about handling but not just holding your snake but also maybe the pros and cons of not handling every once and a while to where holding your snake once a day.. But great videos keep them coming

    Ball Pythons make great first snakes. It was my first and still is my only snake. They're very docile and don't get too big. I'm guessing by what kind you mean what morph? If so, then that's totally up to you depending what kind of paint-job you like. Feel free to inbox me if you have more questions. And regarding handling, there's a good amount of videos on UA-cam that cover that.

    good vids! Very informative and enjoyable! I also like that you have frequent vids, cause a lot of breeders put vids up about 10 months apart. I know its a busy job, but I appreciate that you still make time to make vids

    Great video! I personally own Boaphile racks and cages and they work great for my Boas, Carpet Pythons, and Ball Pythons. Although i do plan on purchasing ARS racks for hatchlings

    K sio anyway what would a good size tank be for a full grown ball python and would acrylic work. also i heard if you get the backgrounds and cover the back and 2 sides it will help them feel more secure.

    I'm looking at getting a ball python, but I'm still a little torn on what to keep it in.
    My first thought, like all beginners, was to use an aquarium, but you mentioned that they're not very good.
    Then you mentioned melamine vivariums, but they're not ideal for ball pythons either.
    Racks are definitely the best, but I only plan on keeping one at this point, and will not be breeding them.
    I know that neither of them are ideal, but for a pet snake, which will be the best choice?

    I would like to know what size for each stage for example what size on the hatchlings, juveniles,sub adult, and adult. I'm using a freedom breeder rack system but my tubs are quite large

    Hi Justin, your videos have been really helpful. I want to get a ball python, it will be +_ 2 months old before the breeder lets it go, so I will know it's eating etc. I can get a Exo Terra Large Flat Faunarium at a good price, can I use that. I know they won't hold humidity well, but the part of South Africa I live in is very warm and humid, even in winter it's 50/60% + humidity, so in that case, will it be ok, and how long before I need to upgrade??

    i found out that at homedepot you can buy acrylic plastic pretty cheap i found a 6 pack of 72 in x36 in. big enough to make a 220-230 gallon tank might be a bit large but it was only 278 for all 6 sheets as for stores that big of a tank is easy 1,000+ and uit said acrylic holds heat good and it is 20 times stronger then glass, figured with some cock stuff and some wood you can get your self a huge tank for pretty cheap, even most home depots will cut stuff, but anyway (ran out of room sorry)

    Hey I'm planning to build a wooden plexiglas enclosure big enough for a 4-5 ball pythons. I going to use either the zilla or zoo med under tank heat pads. Using these do you have to have a thermostat on them to regulate their heat? If so how many can i regulate? Thanks

    I know i'm just saying that it can be done with an aquarium if you have no other financial choice. mine stay at good temps and humidity but thats mainly cause i keep a humidifyer in the room and keep the lamps on 24/7. My yearling BP is 1 in a million, she never refuses a meal even in shed. the other 2 (the babies) are iffy on consistancy.

    not true. i have 3, going on 4 bp's and they all eat like pigs and they all live in aquariums for the moment. If you just get them a hide theyll be fine and will hide and come out when they feel like it.

    A 40 gallon breeder is perfect for an adult

  • @ss8512
    @ss8512 5 років тому +1

    His point of view is for breeding and selling them like a bag of peanuts. For most ball python owners aquarium is the best, shows you care more about them rather than keep them in a container like a lab experiment. For most breeders they look at the money not the quality of living for them, they kill unwanted morphs that dont look appealing and keep the valuable ones. Like picking only the best apples from a tree and dumping the rest. As for aquarium being hard to keep humidity and heat in, just add a freaking plywood to the top and it solves all heating issues think people just because you buy a aquarium dosent mean it has to be as is, modify it.

    • @kaosballs5422
      @kaosballs5422 5 років тому

      Wtf? Do you even know how ball pythons live in nature? They like SMALL DARK PLACES. Aquariums are OK if they have plenty of tiny dark places to hide.
      Glass is a poor insulator.

    • @ss8512
      @ss8512 5 років тому

      @@kaosballs5422 small tubs like the ones in this video as well as all the thousands of massive breeders will try to justify the living conditons. A small tub with newspaper for bedding and a little cup of water is not ideal for any animal just they justify it by saying it has the right temperatures and is a good insulator. They have so much snakes and cant afford proper housing and dont care much because they will be sold off. These are the people that make videos on how to care for your ball python. A python needs enough space to grow and at least 2 hides with a water bowl big enough to fit the python obviously these tubs lack that but its okay right because the temperature is perfect.

    • @kaosballs5422
      @kaosballs5422 5 років тому

      ULTRA SaVaGe
      I agree that MOST animals wouldn’t like it, however Ball pythons are an exception, in that they actually LIKE IT! I know it seems weird to us as large free roaming mammals, but the pythons are sedentary ambush predators that need a secure hiding place to survive.
      That is why ball pythons will generally eat better in a small tub, and get stressed out in a large open cage.
      It’s is strange, but they like it
