Who do you envision the Toronto Maple Leafs hiring as their next head coach?

O'Dog
Berube will be the hire.
Should be Dean Evason
What about this guy named Keefe I heard he’s available now.
As long as Steve Ott comes over as well with Craig Berube. That's my idea of a solid change behind the bench. Steve Ott has been an assistant coach now in St. Louis for many years and he's quietly become a key piece with regards to the player/coaching dynamic. Steve had an awesome career in Dallas and even lead the Sabres into a brief but meaningful change as captain when Ted Nolan and Pat LaFontaine had the plan to bring a solid and respectable compete level back to the organization again. The Leafs just simply lack "that" compete level and killer instinct to get them over the hump in the playoffs and Steve Ott knows how to get this message to the players for Craig Berube. Berube defines killer instinct; something the Leafs have arguably only had under the leadership of Pat Quinn and Pat Burns.
They should be looking for a new president too - the fact shanny still has a job is disgusting in itself …..
He investigated himself and the decisions he's made and found no flaws.
agree
if Quenneville was available I would sign him ASAP
Coach Q , Berube would be my first picks,, Brind Amour would be a dream
Bill Peters would be a mistake, but it wouldn't surprise me in Leafland
My top 10 choices:
01. Joel Quenneville (have to get Bettman to let him back in the league first)
02. Rod Brind'Amour
03. Claude Julien
04. Gerard Gallant
05. Craig Berube
06. Todd McLellan
07. Jay Pandolfo (Boston College)
08. Sergei Fedorov (KHL)
09. Todd Nelson (AHL)
10. Steve Smith (AHL)
Man, I was just thinking about Fedorov the other day.
Dreger is a trusted insider
Regular season and offseason….. LEAF FANS FAVOURITE TIME OF THE YEAR.
Craig Berube reminds me of Joel Quennville minus the allegations.
So a great coach without the baggage, perfect.
Im ok with Berube but hoping for Quenville
Quenneville is not happening
@@alexleblanc5926 probably ...but ive heard Leafs (who obviously have strong imfluence as a very popular franchise) are pushing for his reinstatement
@@alexleblanc5926why? He won't get clearance from Bettman.
I saw Marner at The Sports Village taking down his cardboard cutouts and posters from the pro shop this weekend.
Good
He is taking his ball and going home. Like get out of the city Marner - we don't need you. You could become a legend here by saying..... I will take 8mil for 8 years so we can build a winner. No, you want money you greedy piece of........ !@%^!@$
For real??
It was jealousy. The 'cardboard cutouts' apparently moved more dynamically and purposely during the playoffs. They are also tougher, too, which really ticked him off🤣!
I hear they’re hiring Sheldon Keefe who has recently become available!
Yeah I bet Keefe wins a Stanley Cup faster than you can say he got a raw deal for the early playoff exit.
You are a TRUE hockey insider, obviously😁👍!
I pray that our next coach is Quennville.
Not happening
Berube's record, both regular season and playoffs, since winning the Cup isn't particularly impressive, to be honest. Any chance that that Cup run was more a series of fortunate events rather than stellar coaching?
I believe so.
I agree
I think a lot of Blues fans would say that the front office didn't exactly help him out after the Cup year.
@@douglassun8456 you may be right. I am very unfamiliar with the Comings and going’s of the players in St. Louis. I’m just looking at the record is all.
Doesn’t hurt to give him a three year deal, if it’s not working after two years you can replace him, I’d prefer a hard nose coach who puts an end to the purse wearing
Much overlooked is a coach's ability to rejuvenate careers. Bruce Boudreau is responsible for Brock Boeser's return to stardom in Vancouver. He could do the same for Tavares. And the entire core 4 in a playoff environment.
Who the Buds hire as coach isn’t what I’m concerned with,it’s the line up that concerns me.And who is still part of upper management despite insisting on keeping the core 4 forward group intact-Brendan Shanahan. When Pelley stated that Brendan Shanahan was a champion,I knew that “change was coming” was just window dressing.
I agree. Saw 1 interview where Pelley alluded to their friendship, and I thought Shanny for another year or more. No hope for Leafs fans.
I don't understand why they don't seek permission to talk to Queneville?
Without Core 4 upgrades - does it matter who coaches the Leafs?
Marc Crawford. He coached Matthews overseas.
How do NHL Teams be so quick with coaches being kicked out often when it’s the players who are to blame for losing? Winning a Stanley cup is not easy for any team and to call out the coach is easier than calling out the players. Tired of MLSE axing good coaches and never putting the onus on the players who are overpaid and underachieve.
Kings should have fired rob Blake instead of Todd. Blake is the one pushing that 1-3-1 BS
I wonder if Berube HC & McLellan as Assistant would be nice
Berube is a line roller so change in player personnel would need to happen. Alein vinegnaul had a interview? Spelling is awful lol. Veinguilt?
The Leafs aren’t going to lose an FA coach to NJ or Winnipeg. The allure of the big stage, the big $$ - the Leafs will get their guy, so long as he currently is available.
Why would a good coach put his reputation on the line coaching a bunch of misfits.
@@republica7337 because Keefe has such a terrible reputation… that’s why the second he got fired teams sought permission to talk to him. Good grief.
I don't fuck all about coaching, but I could lead the leafs to disappointment year after year after year.
Same old leafs, getting pressured to make a decision by the rest of the league. If the devils wanted berube so bad they would have signed him already
I hear Mike Babcock is still around
Of course, they won't hire Gerard Gallant. Why would we want a coach known to coach teams who overachieve?
The Leafs are where coaches go to have their careers wrecked. This team is plainly flawed in it's construction and a new coach can't fix that.
As soon as the Hurricanes are eliminated, the Leafs will anounce their HC.
🥳
Not so fast. The rangers could be on their way out. How do you allow 4 goals in the 3rd. And at home.
They trying to pull strings to allow Quenville to come back
Even if he was reinstated, Leafs don't need that media headache.
@@alexleblanc5926maybe for a few days, then they kill it. Q would be worth it. When he left Chicago and went to Florida, things were going great for that team. And then the meeting with Bettman... And Florida wasn't the same team moving on the up.
Not the coaches fault.I wish I could sign a 2 year extension, get fired with full pay .only in the nhl.
Move the Leafs to Hamilton!!
Leafs need torts from Philly
C'mon it's only the 58th rebuilding year, give them time 🤣
😂😂😂😂 Just a friendly reminder, I'm sure.
Something is wrong because someone would have been hired by now.
Exactly
They are probably lobbying the NHL to get Quenville reinstated. If that doesnt happen they will announce Berube ...thats why nothing is being announced.
Waiting for Brind'Amour

Bolt snake alien
If you want to win a cup, you find a way to get Joel Quenneville. End of story.
New coach
First thing insist you pick the captain and rip the C off Tavares he’s no
Leader
Get Jon Cooper from Tampa some how.
Will Tampa let him go. How many more years on his contract.
Todd McLellan would be a terrible hire!
😂
Your the Toronto Maple Leafs! Go and steal Rod BrindAmour.
I golf with Marner's Dad apparently he's packing up his whole house as we speak to leave town.
I’m calling BS 🤔😏🙄
I hope you’re right
@@Woody13ify coulda just been heading to the cottage?
Dregs needs to hit the beaches and get some rays, he's looking a little pale
They won't get Berube. Mark my words
Why's that?
@@alexleblanc5926 because they move to slow when it comes to doing something right
Trade Proposal A) Marner and Reilly for Dobson and Horbvat B) Marner,Reilly Tavares for Malkin & Karlson C) Marner and Reilly for Werenski, Marchenko, Sillinger a 1st and and 2 rounder
Isles would be crazy to trade Dobson.
The Pens trade doesn't really help the Leafs much, they get older and I think they need to allocate that money more effectively to me this isn't the direction they should go if they're trading those pieces.
The Columbus one makes the most sense form the Leafs perspective, I just don't see them trading Marner and Reilly together. Not sure where the value is at with that one.
The mock trade I like the most is something around Marner to the Blues for Parayko and Buchnevich, proabbly be some other smaller pieces switching hands as well.
@@alexleblanc5926 in the pens trade, the age Is actually not much different then now and they get cap space BUT I love that Blues trade proposal. LOVE IT!!!
Doesn't matter who they hire if they're just gonna let the players dictate to him. Much like your politics, you have a spoiled child problem in the East. Reap what you sow TO.
Joel Quenneville #1
John Tortorella #2
they will hire Berube...this is all a dog and pony show
Omg. Whooooooo cares
It doesn’t matter what Coach the Leafs get….. results will be the same. Funny thing is……
Leaf fans will be so happy when decision is made…. TYPICAL.
and....?
Good thing your not a gm
Yeah! fuck every choice this team makes, let's watch football 😅
Lol dafaq? Are we supposed to be upset with whoever they pick as a coach? Obviously they can’t stop there.
So true. I agree 💯 percent
