    MAC glue seems to be sold out everywhere, so I assume they must be out of business.

    • @TreasuryRoad

      MAC Glue is a great glue and there is nothing else like it, unfortunately the resin that is used in MAC is no longer being sourced. So the company is developing a new MAC formula that is as good as the original or better. Hopefully it will be back in production first half of next year. The MAC glue company is alive and well. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😊

    Fantastic tutorial. I really only do pieces for outside, do you have any suggestions that would make cabochons suitable.

    • @TreasuryRoad

      Thankyou very much, appreciate that. Anything that is printed will eventually fade, you can seal the print with a UV protective that will help. The other alternative it to have a signwriter print them for you with solvent ink and instead of paper they would do it on a self adhesive vinyl, laminate them, but eventually it will also fade maybe 10 to 15 years depending on the environment there in and the cost would be prohibitive unless you were buying thousands. There are other methods of printing but its the cost that outweighs it all the time due to the size and the quantities needed to bring the cost down even on short run digital printing. :)

    Hi Peter very informative. Is this the same technique for making your own paper backed glass tiles? I have had trouble with the paper wrinkling, even with some scrap booking papers? Instead of Mac glue I used Diamond glaze glue.

    • @TreasuryRoad
      @TreasuryRoad  3 роки тому

      Thanks very much, I have used this technique for creating larger glass tiles, but its not suitable for outside. Diamond Glaze can yellow if exposed to considerable UV such as full sun. :)

    Hello. I'm new to making cabochon jewelry. I'm having a terrible problem though. I'm using Mod Podge Dimensional Magic to glue the glass cab to the paper artwork. I print my own artwork using Epson Presentation paper (basically photo matte paper) and getting beautiful print results. However, I'm getting silvery spots showing when gluing the cab to the paper. They're tiny and resemble shiny fish scales. Not everywhere, but enough to ruin the item. Do you ever have this problem using the Mac Craft Glue? This is the first I've heard of Mac Craft Glue. Thank you very much Peter.

      Hi, l didn’t have any issues using MAC glue l use it for many different projects. I would perform a test using another type of clear glue such as a pva and test it on the same paper with the clear cabochon,. If the same issue arises l would think it’s more of a paper or ink issue that interacts with the moisture. I would also consider cleaning the cabochon with something like isopropyl if the issue happens with the pva. Process of elimination. 😊

      They are air bubbles, not fish scales 😂 i am also looking for a solution for these.

    Another great tutorial Peter, thank you! I just received my ready made photo glass cabochon. It looks different than yours. The picture has somehow a Glossy shine, like mother of pearl. Any idea how they could achieve this effect? I hesitate to use MAC in my metal bezel, but if it has your approval I will fallow your advice. Cheers Peter!

      Thankyou so much Brigitte, I have no idea of the particular product you bought. Just remember as I mentioned to you, using Mac in my bezels worked for me however I cannot guarantee it will work with your bezels and strongly advise that you do a test first before proceeding. :)

      @@TreasuryRoad Who would of thought that placing a Cabochon into a bezel can be that difficult, lol. Thanks Peter, I'll give it a go this weekend and wait for 2 weeks to see the result...fingers crossed! You know it just occur to me if I seal my Cabochon, then use Apoxie Sculpt instead of glue, could be a safer bet🤔. If all fails, I will start knitting some socks 😂

      @@biddystar LOL So very true, I have used Apoxie Sculpt in a bezels as well I have created a couple of videos on that, however it depends on the look your are after, testing is always really good whenever you are trying different products that you haven't used before. Hopefully you wont have to begin knitting socks. lol :)

    Where do you get good quality cabashons?

    • @TreasuryRoad
      @TreasuryRoad  2 місяці тому

      Cabachon is a kind of general term, it depends what ones you're looking for and the country you are in. If you are meaning the clear ones I generally purchase them from a jewellery supply wholesale or retail store. :)

    I have no idea what a bubble jet printer is I know inkjet and laser printers

    • @TreasuryRoad
      @TreasuryRoad  3 місяці тому

      Bubble Jet is similar to inkjet a different dispersion system of ink, using ink bubbles. I think it may have an association with dye ink rather than pigment ink. Thanks for watching and for commenting. 😊
