Hands down to Shabhana Azmi. Most of her movies are actually thought provoking and way ahead of their time

Tamasha wasn't exactly ahead of its time. It's quite contemporary, undoubtedly one of Ranbir's most underrated movies. I absolutely love it.

Bro, U missed the Karthik Calling Karthik movie, the movie is not that splendid but yes the concept of Dual Personality and Sub conscious mind engraved with suspense and thrill was way ahead for the people to understand the concept. From acting, to direction, to writing, was perfect in the movie, the only prob was it was released in 2010, where the audience were not ready to accept such a tricky subplot.

I loved the scene where nasseruddin Shah a photographer with his partner and a reporter are trying expose corrupt person who has taken a contract to build a highway. Actors like Satish Shah ,Ravi boswani,Om puri and Satish Kaushik have done a commendable job in this movie.

Very good video, except for mera-naam-joker, good theme though if were made by someone like mrinaal sen or satyajit ray or shyaam benegal, would have been a hit with at least the matured, art appropriators. The ship of theseus was understood by almost all of those who watched it. I still don't regret watching it. It's an amazing movie.

    Add a few more
    Libaas (banned by government)
Chetna and Astha (two movies about women who ends up as sex worker, sadly the entire marketing was based to make them look like soft porn and makes you cringe every time they are referred as the same)
Lekin , came around the same time as rudali
Khamoshi - released during the same years when nana patekar became mainstream with krantiveer

Mera Naam Joker is my favorite also. It looks like my story being told in different chapters.
Another of my favourite Raj Kapoor creations is "Ram Teri Ganga Maili", where a lady "Actress Mandakini" replaces the river Ganga and a story about how a pious and pure Ganga faces or carries the abuses humans give her on her way to Kolkata where her journey ends after much tough life.

Filhaal definitely especially for Indian cinema back in 2002 there's a taboo topic involved.,..
Maybe tamasha did actually have a great concept and moral but it wasn't executed too well and I don't speak for others but for me a lot of it was quite producing! Also I don't understand how tamasha is way ahead of its time? There's many meaningful films like this in Hollywood for over the past 2 decades.

It's sad how movies like these don't do well at the box office.... Whereas stupid movies like Ek Tha Tiger and Happy New Year makes box office records

Honourable mention should have been for Guru Dutt's "Jaal" (1952) starring Dev Anand and Geeta Bali which was way ahead of its time.
Apparently Salman Khan said that when he looked back at Andaz Apna Apna (1994), he felt that it was ahead of its time and that if it had been released in 2004-05, it would've been a hit.
How is Tamasha 'ahead of its time'? A lot of comments asking where is Dil Chahta Hai. I feel Dil Chahta Hai was very much a movie of its time. It came at the right time.

Some movies I think that should have been in the list are - Manorama Six Feet Under, Being Cyrus, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani... The last one was one of SRK's biggest flops, mainly because the audience could not relate to the portrayal of media sensationalism at that point of time, which I think is very relevant in today's world. Otherwise a great collection, I love your videos.
