Chale! I was born in Ghana and came to the states where teachers encouraged my parents to speak more english with me at home. Having US born siblings who only spoke english made it the more "convenient" means of communication. Kakra kakra, I am returning to the remembrance and relearning of my native tongue. Whenever my mother wanted me to wait for something she would always say "me ba" so I thought that phrase meant "wait" all this time hahaha!
Hey.. This is the interesting thing about twi. It can mean two things, there is a slight tone difference.
Me ba - My child
Or
Me ba - I am coming /I'm coming.
😊 I believe your mother meant the latter.

I am actually Zimbabwean so I am not a Twi speaker at all. However, I am writing a short story set in Ghana with Akan Twi speakers so this was incredibly helpful in adding authenticity to my writing. I love your cheerful spirit. I wish you could do a video about twins and twin culture in Akan - how to refer to twins, and maybe the way the community relates to twins. This is just me helping myself because my story is about twins! You are wonderful - keep going!

Was my real handicapp at school
Whilst others were enjoying themselves roudily I was busy learning
I passed, my basic curriculum, under stressed learning
Before I knew it in secondary, my mind was so cramped and there was no alternative but to sleep my head off and I helped but less because of boredom
Today at my age, I have brilliant and mind blowing ideas but it's stuck on bed because my education to nouture my potentials was hampered and have been socially abused even religiously
Twi this year is my best alternative
Twi very relaxing, inspiring and eloquent, " high priced sexy language
My coded clue to speaking twi is more of ' its a numerical diction' 0 2 wo to..

Can you talk about the different areas of Ghana & Ivory Coast areas? Like Tain, Tano, & Jaman? I perceived from my research that the Taino/Tanos of the Caribbean & D. Americas were from people of those areas initially. I see so many inspirations that are before the slave trade. These people were already in the Americas & afterwards also came.
