Dal Palak Recipe Ingredients : To Cook Dal:- 1/2 cup soaked Yellow Lentils (Moong Dal) 1/2 cup soaked Pigeon Pea Seeds (Tuvar Dal) Pinch of Turmeric Powder (Haldi) 3-4 Bay Leaves (Tej Patta) 2 cup Water To Cook Palak:- 2 tbs Oil 1 tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera) Pinch of Asafoetida Powder (Hing) 1 finely chopped small Ginger Knob 2-3 finely chopped Garlic Cloves 1 medium sized finely chopped Onion 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder 2 tsp Coriander Seeds Powder (Dhaniya Powder) 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder (Haldi) 1 tsp Garam Masala 2 medium sized finely chopped Tomatoes 1 bunch of finely chopped Spinach 1/4 cup Water (or as required) For Tadka:- 2 tsp Oil Chopped Garlic Kasuri Methi 2 Dried Red Chillies 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder Method : In a pressure cooker, take soaked Moong and Tuvar Dal Add Salt as per taste Add a pinch of Turmeric Powder Add 3-4 Bay Leaves Add 2 cup Water and cook up to 3 whistles on slow to medium heat Add 2 tbs Oil in a pan Add 1 tsp Cumin Seeds Add a pinch of Asafoetida Powder Add 1 finely chopped small Ginger Knob Add 2-3 finely chopped Garlic Cloves Add 1 medium sized finely chopped Onion Add Salt to taste and saute well Add 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder Add 2 tsp Coriander Seeds Powder Add 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder Add 1 tsp Garam Masala Add 2 medium sized finely chopped Tomatoes Saute well for 5-7 min Further add 1 bunch of finely chopped Spinach Give it a good mix and let palak partially cook Add cooked dal and mix it well Add 1/4 cup Water (or as required) to maintain thickness per your liking Combine well and cook until a boil You can also add tadka on this dal Heat 2 tsp Oil in a pan Add chopped Garlic and turn off the heat when it turns golden-brown Add Kasuri Methi Add 2 Dried Red Chillies Add 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder Mix it and pour this tadka on Dal Take dal in a serving bowl Enjoy Winter with Scrumptious Dal Palak & Rice
