Regarding Tom Baker not returning for The Five Doctors, he was a very sensitive and temperamental actor, but he was probably completely right to dislike Jon Nathan-Turner. He felt patronized by Turner. Didn't like the new costume with the question marks. Didn't like the writing. Turner also wanted Baker to leave the show, which came as an insult. So when Turner called him to do the Five Doctors two years later Baker jerked him around for a while with demands before declining. He said he just wanted to get away from the show. Baker had also fallen in love with and married Lalla Ward, who played Romana II. When that marriage fell apart it left him with painful associations with the show. It wasn't until decades later -- when he agreed to do Big Finish audios late in David Tennant's run -- that Baker decided to embrace his legacy in Doctor Who before it was too late.
Seeing someone so excited about The Sensorites or Jamie McCrimmon warms my heart and makes me feel really good about life. I know everything you're talking about and have since I was a child so it's very cozy for me.
Heaven Sent being called underrated is so funny to me considering it was voted as the best Doctor Who episode ever in Doctor Who Magazine a few months back (as it should be)
Dude, I am so thankful you said Capaldi is your favorite. I feel like he really was looked down on for a long time and has only recently gotten the praise and love he deserves. The depth of his doctor is soooo impressive. I love this video! I love to see a fellow Whovian in the ASMR world 😁
I stopped watching during his time. I liked his portrayal of the character but the episodes didn't speak to me really. I felt that way from season 5 onwards. Classic who is a different story. But I've liked about 90% of what I've seen from those eras.
Ahh oh my gosh!! Doctor who is my favorite show of all time and I’m lucky enough to have gotten to meet one of the doctors!! I hope to meet others in the future (rip my wallet) because I love the show so much 💙💙
Who did you meet?? I’d be so interested in meeting some cast members some day but I don’t like going into cities which is where I’d imagine any conventions would happen
@@attimoth Jodie Whittaker! I know many people aren’t a fan of her era, but she’s such a sweet human being I jumped at the chance to get to meet her. The only doctor to come to a con anywhere nearby
My daughter and I just finished the new season. The new Doctor is great, but the season was way too short. My first Doctor was Five when I was in my teens, so he'll always be special, but 11 was definitely the best Doctor. I love Eight as well, and really wish they'd bring him back for his own limited series...having him back for The Night of the Doctor during the 50th Anniversary celebrations was an awesome surprise!!
i feel like the sensorites is one of the most underrated serials in all of dr who. one of those stories that really made me think. and honestly it's one of the first arcs that really has that "doctor who" feeling to it.
Thanks for sharing! Great to see another Third Doctor fan. If you have the time (and money...) I really recommend the recent Third Doctor Adventures from Big Finish! Although the characters are all recast, the actors really capture the essence of the characters, and Liz Shaw and Sarah Jane are played by their daughters, which is fantastic
I use to love watching Doctor WHO. Listening and watching this video is going to make me watch again. Thank you for being my favorite go to for ASMR. Great job 😊
I used to be obsessed with Doctor Who as well, watching this has made me want to go back and start watching it again. Tom Baker is my favorite Doctor of all time.
I have seen interviews with Jon Pertwee and he seemed such a cool gent ( same with Tom Baker) Davros really scared me as a kid back in the 70s.One of my favourite old actresses Beatrix Lehman ( who often played rather withdrawn, eccentric characters )appeared in The Stones Of Blood (1978) Doctor Who is such an iconic show.❤
i just recently started rewatching doctor who (revival) one of my favorite shows of all time. i grew up watching the revival so it’s super nostalgic for me, (not when they first came out but on netflix, i would’ve been like one lol) but i haven’t watched classic who mostly because i never got around to watching it, really cool video though.
Yeah! I remember when doctor who was on Netflix! That’s what I started with and every once in a while I’d catch a classic story on tv, I’m glad you liked the video. Maybe I’ll do more rambling in the future
great video! personally my favorite Doctor is Colin Baker - everybody's least favorite classic one! but I find him so endearing and really like his characterization, very similar to what they later did with Capaldi (though personally I think Capaldi's run was more mixed, mainly due to my dislike of how Clara was written). one of my favorite shows, especially love the attention you give to the older stories! also Return Of Dr Mysterio is literally so good, glad you agree!
Absolutely loved this! Like over a decade ago my friend made me watch the episode "Blink" and I remember thinking doctor who was a horror show for a good while there 😅(I was 9 and terrified 😂) like 2 years later I went back with my dad and started watching from the 2005 reboot and got hooked
love Sir Derek Jacobi. i highly recommend checking out the BBC production I, Claudius if you ever get the chance. and i hope you keep making more videos!
I saw it when it first aired in Canada on Masterpiece Theatre about 100 years ago. Taught me everything I know about the Julio-Claudian emperors and their families!!
Just finished the new season, finale was weak per standard RTD finale writing but the season was generally good. Significantly better than Chibs entire tenure as showrunner.
I watch them on britbox, but there’s also free channels that show classic who 24/7. I stared watching on that but I couldn’t pick the episode so I was seeing them all out of order whenever I had time to watch

Saw McCoy in the thumbnail and instantly clicked!
Hearing you talk so enthusiasticly about Doctor Who makes me want to start the series.
DO IT

I love it when I see other people geek out over Doctor Who like myself 😝
So glad you mentioned 'Heaven Sent'. I'd say that's the best episode of the WHOLE show! Sweet Hendrix Axis Bold As Love poster there too.
I love heaven sent, a true masterpiece
It’s genuinely I would say one of the best episode of television period.
Your room looks really cool, and your voice sounds super relaxing keep it up 😄
It's fun to hear someone talk about their interest, opinions and collection. Thanks for sharing

i don't even watch doctor who but i could watch you ramble all night fr
It's so cool to see someone like doctor who besides me😂 I've been watching it since I was a kid
I use to love watching Doctor WHO. Listening and watching this video is going to make me watch again. Thank you for being my favorite go to for ASMR. Great job 😊
I finally completed my doctor who dvd collection the other day! It’s taken me 20 years lol
It’s awesome that you have such good taste ❤
I used to be obsessed with Doctor Who as well, watching this has made me want to go back and start watching it again. Tom Baker is my favorite Doctor of all time.
Such a great video! Love this kind of stuff. Don't know anything about Doctor Who, but was fun to listen to you talk about it.

Doctor Who is such an iconic show.❤
Loved this. You're so nice! I really need to revisit the show. 9 was my doctor but I do love me some tennant.
Peter Davidson was my favourite of the classic Doctors, Black Orchid is my favourite episode, it terrified me as a kid lol. Tennant is the GOAT though
“Heaven Sent underrated”
51:56 Had virtually all of the items on display back in the day haha
Omg yes peter calpadi was also my favorite and like no one I talk to agrees with me
You are very knowledgeable, charming and charismatic. I’d watch your content even if wasn’t ASMR content.

Colin Baker definitely gets too much hate! He is more fleshed out in some of the big finish audio adventures that I’ve listened to as well

Im obsessed w this channel 😅
love Sir Derek Jacobi. i highly recommend checking out the BBC production I, Claudius if you ever get the chance.

Ooh I definitely will! Thanks for the rec!

@@Terri_MacKay that's awesome. i only first heard about a few years ago, but it instantly became one of my favorites.
i love the shirt
Im gonna start watching it just because of you
We need TVNauta to see this video like, now!
Love Doctor Who!
SpongeBob should be number one
cant believe you think ten isnt the GOAT, smh my head

Wait, how does the calendar have 13 pages
Where are you from?
Man it sounds like you've watched the whole back catalogue. I'm curious guys - do American fans of the show watch on BBC iPlayer using a VPN?
I watch them on britbox, but there’s also free channels that show classic who 24/7. I stared watching on that but I couldn’t pick the episode so I was seeing them all out of order whenever I had time to watch
you're so cute
Have you watched the new season of Doctor who on Disney plus?
Yes! I mostly loved it and I’m excited for the next season
@@attimoth that’s awesome to hear me too. Who is your favorite doctor?
My favorites are 3 and 12, but 15 is honestly really good so he’s up there in the ranks too
@@attimoth Valium not even gonna lie, though no 8 or 11 makes me sad haha.
11 was my favorite when I was younger, he’s great! 8 is also really cool but I haven’t gotten to his big finish audio stories so I don’t really know anything other than the movie. The movie is really fun, but I just feel like it’s not enough to go off of for me!
