I watched this but never commented. I do not think there is a Sedgehog out there I do not like. Sometimes if it is low light I may fish a tiny dry or Emerger and then a Sedgehog about twelve inches above it so I can watch for takes a little easier in the Twilight. I watched it again.
Hi davie Thanks for the reply, sorry I can find the link you have sent me. The dressing I am interested in is the fly from Caithness flies ( not sure about copyright) I believe it to be a orange body and a peach dear hair but I would be very interested in seeing your variant. I have just returned from a two week fishing trip to Orkney and this fly was the most successful. Thanks again
Hi sominmx23, If I was going to tye a version of the hog you asked for I would use the same colours I used in the video I have attached below as I do know this works well in the Orkney's...I still have plenty of the deer hair so keep me in mind and I'll tye a version for you... Hi simonmx23, There's a few hooks that you could use but the Short Shank Special is the same as the B160..Another hook I like to tye Hogs on are the Super Grub or the Kamasan B110 as I like the shape it gives to the fly..I have attached a link to one of the best Sedge Hogs I've tye as this fly was a well kept secret for many years so it's a fly I would highly recommend...Do you have the dressing of the Barbara Cartland? All the very best Davie
Can you tell me were you get your deer hair from as I can't get them colours. If you dye your own were do you get your dyes from and can you put a video of dying some deer hair . Thanks and great fly keep up the good work
Hi Davie,I've hunted around the Internet looking for the original pattern and read many debates!! Do you have the original dressing m8 as it's a brilliant fly that seems to have been forgotten about in today's fly tying world, thanks again Billy.....
Hi Billy, I've tyed many variants of the Loch Oldie over the years so I've attached a link to some info which I feel has the right dressing used and as well some variants which I'm sure you will like to see..I hope this is of some help to you.. Hi Davie I don't know if you now a dryfly named superpupa? I would love to see if you can make a video on how to tie it, if you can't look it up then you can take a fly that catches you alot of graylings. Keep it up davie Difrent
Hi Davie, I live in sweden and i can only fish for grayling with my fly rod up here, so i wonder can you tie som grayling flies and put it out on youtube? have a good time fishing and tie flies Difrent
Hey Davie, I wish I could get that close tot he eye without clogging it. I tend to stay back. I wouldn't have put on that last white, nor the dubbing. And you somehow made it fit. I won't live long enough to have your experience but I will try getting closer and not clogging the eye. Thanks for sharing. I didn't see I commented on this one. Don't know why. All the best to you and yours. Sean
Excellent color combo and pattern

It worries me when you tell me how long it should take to tie this fly………add on 50 minutes plus 45 to re-do.
Class fly and tying! Thanks Davie!
