You missed the most important thing: the key feature of netherite and allthings related to it is that it doesn't get destroyed by lava when dropped.

You forgot one quality of netherrite; it can’t be burnt in lava

Cial Collins that just means people can take it for themselves when you dive into lava after being surrounded and can't burn it. Your enemies will get what you want them to not take.
Edit: you bunch of idiots. We are comparing obsidian and netherite as building blocks, not armor/tools. If we were doing that, obsidian wouldn't stand a chance. I meant having blocks of netherite and obsidian in your inventory to build with. If you have stacks of netherite, then, unless you die on a cactus, your enemies will get this precious resource from you. With obsidian you can dive into lava and burn everything you have.
With 2b2t having so much lava at the prime pvp place(spawn) you can easily make sure your enemies don't get the things they are killing you for. With netherite, that is impossible, unless, as I mentioned, you die on a cactus.

What you didn’t think of:
When you build with Netherite, enemies who destroy it are literally arming themselves with YOUR expensive material.
Good point, in a normal server/world this downside would be too great to use it, however... *in the oldest anarchy server in minecraft* you cannot forget the economy is shit. Netherite armor/tools should be easy to acquire. I'm personally team obsidian, but that's not to say netherite doesn't have it's uses.

remember that even though netherite can't be burnt in lava, it can be destroyed by cacti, and can the blast resistance of a block is reduced to zero when being pushed by a piston.

If you place a netherite block next to it it destroys the cactus
Forget rock paper scissors; now we have netherite, fist, and cactus
Cactus destroys netherite, Netherite would break your fist, and the fist can destroy cacti
Since netherite blocks can be pushed with a piston, you can create a suffocation machine that people can't break out of!
Even with efficiency 5 and haste 2 it still takes a couple of seconds, this means that you can still move the block with a piston to reset the mining of it

You forgot one thing about obsidian similar to the beacon property found in netherite: You can make nether portal windows in your builds, a property i use whenever i make a obsidian base. It stops projectiles, but can be shot through by stepping up to it, firing, and backing out before you get teleported.

Let's put this into 2b2t context.
There's no real easy way to grief obsidian. Totally immune to tnt, bed explosions and crystals. Takes much longer to mine than to place. Wither explosions are something it CAN'T resist.
However, making tnt airships has been a very effective way to grief for years. So, how does this relate to netherite, you may ask?
The ideal way to grief a netherrite structure would be to make an airship very low to the ground; so low that it collides with the structure. Basically, instead of bombing, it bulldozes the structure instead.

Depends what you want it for, if you want a blast proof door you now have one you just need a way to avoid piston tricks and exploits.
Honestly, on an anarchy server, especially 2b2t, you almost NEED both just as much as each other. A duel wall made with obsidian on the inside and netherite on the outside has so many benefits, not to mention the moving netherite air ship, the non-moveable base walls of obsidian, e.t.c.

Finding Ancient Debris on 2b2t will be very time consuming since you will probably have to go pretty far from 0,0 to find fresh chunks for it to spawn in when the server finally gets updated to 1.16 or 1.17. But on the other hand, if you have a base several hundred thousand blocks from spawn in the overworld, you likely won't have to travel too far in the Nether to find new chunks.
Use them together with crying obsidian for blast proof house with piston doors and windows. Crying obsidian for details like floor and roof and netherite for doors. Obsidian for everything else since it's common. And netherite beacon. For bonus make a nether portal built into part of the structure in a room and build it leading to a stronghold end portal room keeping it as intact as possible with quick access.
