Chucky having fun while Pookie is gone😊
I guess we can say we make our own luck by working, lifestyle and behaviour.
Chuck, you’re right it’s not all luck. I don’t think people realize there are thousands if not tens of thousands of men in the same position here in Thailand. You need to work hard to have this life. But when you have it right, it’s Amazing!
Thanks for the video Chuck, glad all is well with you all.
Good chat. So true.
True, and nicely delivered the point of view
Enjoyed the video. I see you as a man in a good place. Nobody gets there by luck. We all have our story.
Nice Content👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great show Chuck! Pizza looked great. Love and prayers to u and the family. As alway's stay cool, kind and generous!
Thanks, you too!
Great walk and talk Chuck, your 100 % right
I agree.......hard work is key
Great place looks like a fun place to visit
Great video Cuuck and it goes with the saying The harder you work the luckier you get
Love the pineapple 😋
Chuck I totally get it, I'm married to my wife who is from Hong Kong. Culturally it is worlds away from my Seattle Washington culture . Its tough and my mother in law only speaks Cantonese. And yes I get the same stuff "you so lucky " I hate it when they say that. I made my luck I left the USA back in 1996 struck out on my own as a journalist . I retired when I was 54 no kids and my wife and I live life large and correct. Travel and enjoy like like you and Paige. Thanks for the video , lets remind folks we make our luck.
🙏🙏
I can see where many, including myself, see you as lucky or fortunate that you met your wife, but I definitely see you as someone who earned the opportunity to live the life you do.
Most of life is earning it, BUT in another sense you got lucky to have met Paige and she has a good Thai Family.
Could be luck, could be fate, however the truth of it is she actually seek me out.
Have fun you can always walk at the Mall we enjoy your channel and thank you for the prayer you added! Luck is over rated I say it's being Blessed! Anyway God Bless keep having notime2bsad!!
Pizza looked delicious!
Enjoyed your take on the definition of luck. I used to berate myself for depending on luck to account for whatever successes I achieved. I even complained out loud once to my executive assistant that my accomplishments were almost entirely attributable to great good fortune and a dash of courage. Apropos of your perspective, her response to me was "you deserve to be lucky".
Totally agree. Good fortune as a result of the courage to take a risk and make sacrifices….
Luck is the result of good planning.
Hangin out in my favorite bar lol. My wife, her sister and I went quite a few times there and enjoyed the owners mixology skills😊
I get what you are saying, and I don’t see lucky in marriage I see the differences in you and Paige. It takes love and lots of work for you both.💞💕
Good morning chuck
Morning!
I love Udon Thani. I lived and worked there 2005-2008 for Voice of America when I was in the Foreign Service. I hope to return one day to visit. I appreciate seeing it on your video. Great message.🙏
Nicely said, pizza crust looks great, pineapple hatters will march in the streets..good tour, take care..
Love the Hawaiian pizza, aroi maaaak, could eat it all !
I think when someone calls someone lucky, its an easy word to use cause it covers a wide range positive circumstances. Most probably fortunate would be a better word.
I like the talk on lucky...i get this alot and your comments made me realise actually i get this alot from people thatvim lucky to have a thai wife..and i agree ..it takes more than luck that im 17 years married to a thai girl ..we both had nothing and still work hard living together in uk with our 10 year old boy..but we built alot now..we got a condo in udon...land and old house in thai village and i took a gamble and have a few but to let condos in the uk..we both work full time but are now in a good position..but yes yuur comments made me realise im forttunate and made my own luck...bybthe way uvseen your name on the pool table in blue coral bar. 😊
hardwork, sacrifice, and steadfast commitment to a plan or idea. and we all create our own luck good and bad. your right and me and my thai wife have been watching you for years to help us stay focused till we complete our commitments in the states and begin a very similar life to yours. so as always thanks
Hi Chuck. Thanks for taking to time to have a chat. Hope You Tube don’t block your video with my bad head on it 555. Take Care do that trip to OZ someday. Richard from Australia.
Loved seeing the Eagles sticker on the Tuktuk at 1:30
Good morning
Morning
Well you are kind of lucky, you fell in love with a Thai girl and was able to move to a low cost country, had it been a US or European woman you would have had to work many extra years before you could retire.
Even if the other was a case I still have options. Nobody's forced to be with anybody. If page and I aren't happy together we will separate. Life is too short to sacrifice your happiness.
4th Good morning!
Morning!
Try a few Thai chili’s! No more cold!
I love Pineapple and Ham on Pizza! The old saying goes "If you don't like it Don't get it."
I always say that if it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all. But seriously take it from someone attempting to retire early, as you well know Chuck you need a lot more than luck to achieve your goals in life.
Pineapple on pizza is good stuff!! Add some hot peppers too! Yummy!
Intro. Safe Zone. Shocking. Cheesy. I could not help myself. 555.
Good Morning.
I love the sound of the rain.
It is all give and take. And nothing is easy. Depends on what you want in life. What you put in. You worked hard. Totally agree with you. Work and relationships.
UA-cam is funny at times. Blocks random stuff.
Excited for your next trip. Love watching your adventures.
Food is good.
Mafia's food and spread are always epic. I like to see anyone make all those dishes and have them piping hot.
They taste good. I bet those moaning are sitting and eating a packet of crisps. 555.
The pizza looked so good.
Happy Weekend to you and Paige.
what time bar closes
Canadian bacon and pineapple is the bomb, Chuck. I hate effing pepperoni..lol
The last time I was in Udon Thani was in 1972
Your right with the luck story , sometimes we have to make our own luck! and totally understand being married to a Thai women, 10 years for us and they definitely do think differently to western countries, and I have really picked up the "up to you" mojo" . The Buddhist beliefs and the belief in Karma is a big thing in the Thai culture and life style
Hey Chuck, I love Hawaii pizza, but husband hates it. I am so homesick when I am watching your videos
There is an old saying Chuck. The harder you work the luckier you get
I live in rural Chonburi. I live with my Thai family. I had to learn a lot and have now integrated well but it took me a few years.
You probably could’ve spent your alone time with your mom so she wouldn’t have to spend alone time. 👍
Or I could have done many other things..........
@@notime2bsad, so many could’ve, should’ve…how do you even exist without all the “advice?”
De Ja Vu watching this one 👈 and the Dollar Bar is a welcome addition to Udon's bar scene.👍🍺 Ps _ I luv a ham n pineapple pizza 😉
There is a big difference between lucky and fortunate. And many confuse the two.
Yes not the same but neither one has to do with hard work, planning and, effort. Unless you want to say I'm fortunate to have all of my limbs and the ability to think for myself to become successful.
@notime2bsad true, neither has to do with hard work. But also being fortunate in your circumstances, friendships, affiliations etc. also leads to success, and many who are successful never did a hard days work in their life, and many who work hard for their entire life are neither successful nor fortunate.
@@PaulinAsia_ I guess so Paul we could probably go back and forth. Sorry I just didn't realize. I've never had anybody carry me to the finish line. But I see your point.
"It is difficult to find the luck inside of us - and it is totally impossible to find it anywhere else"
Real cool T-shirt Chuck. Enjoy the peace of river Mekong
i never for once thought it was about luck... fate brought you and paige together... after that it was hard work on both yours and paige's part to make things work... and you both fought for your happiness.. and we got to enjoy your youtube videos!!!
Remember pineapple and ham pizza was first developed in Chatham Ontario,Canada
Thanks for reminding me.. We have been.. "fighting" and it's my fault.. I forget sometimes.
Hi Chuck and Paige thank you for the video I love ham and pineapple pizza. Your lucky because you worked hard to be able to do things you do.
Google Maps will track your location. You can use a landmark to set your route. Believe that would overcome some of the fears of being lost.
Hi Chuck. Check out Udon's walking st. on Fri & Sat from around 5pm on. Down by TungSriMung- the city fairgrounds. Short drive or songtaew ride from your hotel
We have a couple videos there. Great place
Just stumbled upon your channel and I must say, you seem like an upright guy, following and will check out more videos.
I used to live in Udon and my wife owned a salon right next to this very bar XD
Cool, thanks
You are friendly and loving with your in laws I don’t see that with Paige and your mom,you never see her even. Speak to your mom.
I like Hawaiian pizza. Lots of red chillie powder on it too😊
Was involved in a Head-on collision with a Tractor Trailer in Saudi Arabia (Desert Storm) - Everyone said the same “your lucky - to be alive. Luck would have not been in accident. I have outlived many of those that I worked with. Blessed may have been better than luck ❤
All that walking Chuck l thought you may have walked the park other side of railway station near Kevin 😂
Chuck : Been sub for long time....did 30 days training at airbase near Bangkok in 65 and when I was offered RR to Hawaii , Hong Kong , Sidney , and Bangkok ....took Bangkok and we rented a villa with pool...great time there ...would go back in a minute...Note : Your cell camera was working clearer that the Gopro on this video ? Watching....
Most people in life that get things easy don't appreciate them. You took chances worked hard planed for your future and now can reap the rewards of all the efforts you put in. Sure sometimes there's a little bit of luck in the mix when a calculated risk pays off but overall it comes down to plain hard work and planing. It's not easy being married to a Thai or other Asian person as the lengths you have to go to to be able to balance the relationships is astronomical but it is sure worth the effort. I admire yours and Paiges relationdhip and those of her family and your mum with them all. That's not luck my friend that is determination to succeed. Congratulations mate. Bushyboy Oz
I love Hawaiian pizza. It's one of my go to pizzas
I love Hawaiian Pizza. I put honey on it. So delicious!!
Lots of Aussies like Hawaiian pizza tho not many of us would go for the chilli powder on it, Cheers
🙂
The harder and smarter you work, the luckier you are
I worked pretty hard but I never won that scratch off ticket. Must have had to try harder next time. 😉
I'm looking for a 4th income stream so I can get back there in the next 5 years.
You're living on another planet compared to the Thais. You aren't really living Thai style, although I accept there are some features of your life that are Thai style. I love Udon. Keep up your awesome videos.
Thanks we can only compared to what we know.
Luck doesn't come into it. You put in the effort in and great results follow ...
You are lucky that you live with your in-law and hardly play for expenses but if you were living in the US you should be thankful to your people around you !!
And it is very understanding that some people just can't comprehend. You Only perceived things on how you think. Since we're slinging insults.
I am not try to insult you. I am taking about real life if you were living in the US right now, if you paid own expenses you would not have the lucky life style.I knew you retired young, work hard and save a lot of money. You save a lot of money too when you are in Thailand. That why a lot of retirees come to Thailand because they can't afford to stay over there, not everyone. That is why we can say we are lucky!!
@@user-do4cf4mc7d okay you win yes I live here with no expenses everything here cost me just about nothing. That's how I'm able to do it you caught me.
The harder I work, the luckier I become.
100% dude. Lifes a struggle and people see someone with success and they think wow he's lucky. Its everywhere you look.
Chuck be careful lol, I think if you were away from Paige a bit longer, you would get bored and maybe get yourself in trouble, nice trouble, those 2 ladies in the bar were very friendly and seemed very happy, could be a good night playing pool and having a few drinks there. I like your outlook on life, it's not a long life, enjoy it while you can
Good morning, Chuck! Please dont be offended. Its just another misunderstanding. We have 2 different types of luck, straight luck, for which one has to work v hard n gambling luck which is d kind u think of, where things land in ur lap without having to work. We all know ppl who work exfremely hard n still have nothing to show for it. They dont even have straight luck. At a deeper level of buddhism there is no luck at all. Eg born to a rich family because accumulated good karma with those ppl in a previous life.
As for cold food, ambient temperature is 30 plus degrees. N its spicy! Impossible to eat it hot. But it isn't congealed the way it is in a cold country. I love Thai food. It is indeed good luck/ karma to be able to eat it everyday!
That Pizza was expensive??
i agree with you Chuck, luck is initiated from hardwork in my opinion & its a credit to you to be in such a postion in life right now , however luck has nothing to do with health , health also comes from enormous hard work , commitment & determination …it would be a shame for everyone in the same position, to finally make it in" life “ to then see it all change due to ignoring the most important factor… you have nothing if your health is ruined …… i am not being critical of anyone , we all make a choice , just stating a fact …. no health = game chnager …...
Also no matter what you won't live forever. Healthy people have heart attacks also, or even die in accidents. Being healthy is a good choice, same as just being hoppy.
did you bought a foxes tail from that Halloween store and wore it that day ?😊
Thanks Chuck.! It’s true….my position in life today is a direct result of the choices I made. In a nut shell…i was willing to do things the average person didn’t want to do, so that later in life, I can do the things the average person can’t do….:-))
I think that there is something to be said about putting in the work to achieve your goals, and to be able to enjoy the fruits of your labor. On the other hand, shit can happen to you that you have no control over at all. Example: 15 years ago, I was working hard towards my life in Thailand, when my Dad was hit by a drunk driver, and sustained brain damage. I moved him in with me so that I could help him...that has set back my moving to Thailand a few years....but I'm still working hard to make it happen!
Chuck...you lucky to have me as a friend 😅
No That Is definitely hard work... 555
555
Pinnapple on pizza er is delicious 😃😀😁💪💪👏🍕🧀🍍
Hi Chuck, I understand what you are saying about luck. I don't think it is an insult to say you are lucky. People who don't get it, just don't get it and in the end they "will not get it". But, you got it. You worked hard as so many do. You had adversities (that you overcame) as so many people do. But you are still lucky. Many people work extremely hard just to have it all fall to waste. They are possibly unlucky. Maybe it takes hard work and good luck. Who knows. I pity the poor fool that messes with my luck! I Worked way too hard for it. hahaha
Of course it is not all luck, but these guys saying that may have also worked their butts off including in their relationships but with different results. It's a very common story in the states.
Grumpy pineapple pizza hater here... Sweet pizzas are a no no...My son likes them though.
Normal hotel choice for breakfast is Thai breakfast (Khao Tom moo) or so called American breakfast (one skinny Weiner,an egg and a microthin slice of bacon McDonald's style and a slice of bread if very lucky)....I haven't been to US for very long time but would that be your typical American breakfast?..
Nothing on the "full Irish".....2 slices thick cut smoked back bacon rashers,3 pork sausage (not chicken Weiner)little piece black pudding, white pudding, mushrooms, fried tomato, piece of wheaten soda bread, piece of potato bread, possibly some hash brown and some baked beans.....
Someone needs to do one of these.
I just stick to the Khao Tom.
Good work on the ham and pineapple pizza Chuck. 👍
The haters don't know what they're missing. 😆
Roti time! 😂
Love roti!
Luck is very misunderstood/ of course. that and "working with others" that is such a big topic/ (I teach college students/ so we have sections on topics like that across business courses, including things like personality types of Myers Briggs (16 little boxes) still, you made a plan, you achieved your goal, and the worlds other favorite phrase for unexpected contingencies, "God Willing",,, So, better to talk about Luck than God, people really get heated about God and Gods, and here in Texas we have Christian on Christian hate going on over Catholic Saints and all sorts of things. Peace, and prosperity, and do your best (can luck play a role in setting your goals, and achieving them? maybe with HARD WORK as you say. life will happen going forward, no need to drift in the winds of time, when we can choose where we go.
#random rant/ not cohesive/ incomplete fragments of ideas I know...
I think the harder you work the luckier you can become, it’s not luck it’s as you say Chuck it’s forward planning in the normal persons life , set realistic goals and try to achieve them , I worked and planned for retiring early I did this aged 59 ( Uk retirement age Is 67 now) I was a mobile mechanical engineer working for a company, I had a private pension I took out when I was around 26 , not a lot of people I knew then did that, I got a group policy investment with the company I worked for , not compulsory then in Uk but the matched my contributions to that and I bought shares in the company that worked out really well for me when I cashed them in , I invested in MY future not the future of local bar owners or cigarette companies ,
It can be done if it’s what you want , regards to you and Paige
Davy 🏴🇹🇭
Breakfast looks good. Too bad you can rarely find hash browns in Thailand. But hey, at least you got real ham and bacon rather than the little hotdogs😂
i seen on joe rogan podcast him and elon split a double pineapple and double anchovy pizza
One of the strange things I found with Thailand and their security is that I do feel very safe, I have never felt unsafe. But when it comes to their homes, it’s difficult to find a house that does not have bars on all the windows. When we build our house, No bars on the windows - no extra security doors. Just a house.
Hello mate
@@johnnysiam-007 hey Johnny 🫵🏻 how’s your construction? It’s been a while on the updates. Did I miss something?
Chuck, you're so lucky to eat Hawaiian pizza in Thailand. It's all luck. I love Hawaiian pizza and that one looks delicious. Now, I'm hungry and it's late. A little bit of trivia, Hawaiian pizza was first made in Canada. Small city, Chatham, Ontario.
No you are wrong, you are definitely lucky. Lucky the pizza gods didnt strike you down 🌩😉
Once again had a good time watching this video
I like pineapple on pizza
Lol
And I like my food not hot
Lol
Why would anyone worry about stuff like that
People are so weird 😂
Even looks like the pizza bill is in Bitcoin....
Thai baht.... Symbol
There are people in impoverished countries who work really hard but will never escape poverty. There are people in other countries who work really hard but they’ll never escape war and violence. You were lucky to be born in a wealthy, relatively-safe country. When people point out how hard they worked it’s usually just about ego inflation. You ARE actually trying to put yourself on a plateau.
I'm sure you don't know but there are many people that migrated to America to escape all the things you mentioned. People can control their own fate. Life's too short for excuses.
As a New Yorker, I should find pineapple on pizza offensive. But I don’t know how many Dominos pies with ham, pineapple and black olives Ihad in my late teens. I still like to, call it a guilty pleasure. But I wouldn’t put it on ‘good’ pizza, and consider it a separate category of food from regular pizza.
I find it strange. Maybe almost to the point of a mental health issue. If a topping on a pizza is to be offensive. To me it's almost like you have painted a portrait in somebody came and spray painted over it. That would be offensive. 😉
i eat same hawaiien pizza in Da Sofia in Udonthani an it was the most bad pizza i ever eat ,the bread was very thin 3mm and burning the cheese fly over no bacon ore ham at all and very little pieces of pineapple also i recommanded that i her from da Sofia from notime2besad and they say you eat their last week and i order the same pizza.
i never do an negative revieuw about food in 20 year thailand but this was very bad.
The streetpizzza from 40 baht is much better than Da Sofia in Udonthani with Hawaiian Pizza from 300 baht
I hope the other pizzas are better in the future
I haven't had the Hawaiian pizza there. Not a favourite in Italy
Thanks Chuck. Looking forward to your next adventure 😉. 👍😎🙏
