Return of the king. I didn't get a PSP until 2010, so I missed these apart from Tag Force Evolution (the PS2 port of the first one). Discovering the Tag Force games in adulthood - namely 5, 6, and 3 - has been very fun.
Yes! So glad to see another episode in this series. Love all the old Yu-Gi-Oh video games and I'm excited to play the Early Days Collection when that comes out in a few months.
If anyone plans to play these nowadays I recommend applying the voice patches to your game. All the characters are silent in the English versions, but the fan made patch will add the voice dialogs from the Japanese versions which makes it a far more immersive experience imo :)
The japanese version of Tag Force 3 and onwards has additional dialogue for the page 2/3 characters. Also getting to know more about the original characters. This was scrapped in the English versions. Sadly there's no patch for the missing dialogue and you're forced to manually fan translate the missing dialogue
To this day I never understood why that was the case. We had aEnglish dub for both GX and 5DS so I don't get why they didn't get the dub cast to contribute to these games.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was due to the bizarre Japanese censorship of the early and mid 2000s. Every anime being aggressively American with their dubs and they didn't just keep the Japanese dub because it didn't have a single line about Jelly donuts.
Glad to have you back. The Yu-Gi-Oh! Tagforce series are to me one of the best games in the series and the ones i had the most fun with, the partner system was always a cool thing, though sometimes was also quite dumb when it came to the AI being a hinderance more than a helping hand. Still love the Tagforce series of games and i wish we could have more of it nowadays.
I started playing these games on my modded PSP this summer. Really enjoyed the first one and about to really dive into 2 soon. Kinda strange that 3 wasn’t released in the US but 4 & 5 was
15:16 "People love to be able to roleplay and live vicariously within the world of Duel Monsters" This sums up the appeal of Yu-Gi-Oh games for me. It's not just about the card game itself, it's about getting to immerse myself within the world of the anime. That's something the modern Yu-Gi-Oh games don't tend to have, and I'd love to see that style of game make a comeback.
Another great retrospective I literally re visited this game series in may this year I found my childhood psp in 2017 and I played tag force 1 & 2 religiously that summer but eventually my old psp stopped reading games so I found another I’ve been playing tag force 1 trying to unlock all cards and every pack
I never forgave how Konami ended the Tag Force series on such a whimper with how lame they handled Tag Force Special. It could have been a epic crossover but it ended up being 5 mini-Tag Force games compilation, and its so lazily done.
I never had the experience of owning a PSP recently got my hands on one that came with a bunch of these games I bought the fourth the fifth and the sixth one because it only came with the first three GX was my absolute favorite era I loved the elemental heroes and all of the heroes series and line of cards so I constantly go back and play them
Tag Force 2 was my favorite, and the opening with how it plays out and the music accompanying it slaps among the Tag Force games. I was bummed out we didn't get Tag Force 3 here in North America, but I will say the fact it added tuners since they're introduced in 5ds was so weird in ruining immersion. Also, my favorite GX character Aster got done dirty in not being one of the first options as he was prior (Jesse got bumped too), as now in 3 he's a tier 2 story mode character, yet they give characters like Alexis and Chazz their alt Society of Light versions in tier 1 like... what? So yeah, 3 has a lot of questionable decisions to end off on the GX Tag Force trilogy.
As someone who had bacon and egg sandwich today I wonder if I should have ate the ham and cheese it makes me think of the small moments in life anyway am going to play some Yu-gi-oh! master duel after cleaning.
Just to point out gallis *was* used before Xyz were a thing. It had it's own OTK/FTK(rarely) deck using Genex Ally Birdman and Koaki'i Meiru Doom that eventually evolved into a monster mash synchro pile featuring everything from the few available hand traps to quickdraw dandy to lightsworns and eventually Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning.

@@nightmarearcade2663 I guess they didn't want to pay for voice acting. But why not just keep the jp voices then?

I've been dying for a Tag Force retrospective for a long time. Awesome work!

So glad you are still doing this series.
I found your channel and subbed you like a week ago and I’m delighted to see this. Can’t imagine how the long term subs feel 🙏🏻
glad to see this series come back
It's been 3,000 Years!!! LOLz xD
It's good to see your videos again man.
Welcome back Zane, hope we don't have to wait too long for the next vid!

It makes sense, the transition to GX to 5Ds in the US was very fast. Makes sense to put more resources into the next series where the new cards are.
@@kotalee2106 at least I can play 3 with the roms. Suffers from some slowdown during duels but tons of cards in it

Main issue is we don't have any new games(that uses the normal game) with anime characters since 2019.
Thats the problem.
Awesome to see another video from you!
So glad to see the next one, GX era Yu-Gi-Oh has a special place in my heart. Hope you've been well!

Hey, this series is back. Love it. I just found your channel.
Omg yas!!! It's been so long since I'd seen your last video!!

Finally you made this
Holy Shit this channel uploaded
Tag Force 3 was basically freeware for the US due to how easy PSP CFW piracy was lmao. Literally everyone I knew at the time had it.
My parents bought me a used psp from a pawn shop that had CFW and this game already installed lol.
@@NQQTNQQT lol
WAKE TO BABE NEW ZANE SILVER JUST DROPPED

0:16 Aight you ain't gotta call me out like that bruh 😭
As a kid I remember getting the PS2 game and not realizing it was a different game 😅
isn't the disc too big for it to fit in your PSP?
I love this game

So how was tag force 3 in English? Fan-translation?
It released in PAL regions (UK and europe at least, probably Australia too) I had it as a teenager.
What about tag force 4
I'm working on a romhack of tag force 2. If someone knows about the topic we can share insights
