A quick tip for added comfort while wearing a Breitling: I don't position the clasp directly in the middle of my wrist. Instead, I move it slightly lower by one or two links, so the bent part of the clasp curves around and grips the side of my wrist Edit: I also would turn the clasp 180 degrees, as it looks like it was put on in an unusual way. Or take off the bracelet, and put it on the other way around.
Cheers the tip, mate. Going to adjust it in the workshop tomorrow. I should’ve thought about twisting the clasp round when I was sorting it out, but I can get that done tomorrow also.
This was extremely painful to watch. I wouldn’t have paid £500 for this piece of ****, let alone £1365! I hate to say it, but you’re going to lose a significant chunk on this. Stick with your Top Time Triumph - that’s all the Breitling you’ll ever need. Thank you for sharing this experience.
I’m actually taking it back to the Auctioneers on Monday or Tuesday as I said it wasn’t correctly described. Probably won’t get far, but it’s worth a shot. Makes me appreciate how dry the Triumph it aswell. 😂
Don’t just take it to a jeweler. Send it to a good third party watchmaker. These use a common eta 2834-2 movement and any good watchmaker can service it. Have it cleaned and gaskets replaced, and it might need a new dial. But don’t do that. Dials are $$$. Then just wear for years. If you try and sell you’ll get taken to the cleaners or it’ll just sit for a long time.
I always say Jewellers, but mean a watchmaker. It’s only because it’s in the Jewelry Quarter. I’m probably going to get a quote and see what they say. But honestly, after wearing it for a week or so, the fogging hasn’t really ruined the enjoyment of the watch.
To me, that looks like water damage as you know, but I think that watch has been sold on to a novice tinkerer. The polishing is extreme. So extreme, I just cannot think that any professional has touched it. A massive red flag for me would be the mineral deposits around the outside of the underside of the crystal and the very dirty indices. This would give me nightmares. Have you opened the watch? I'd want to see the movement and I'd want to see it under magnification. Even a zoom on your phone. My thoughts would be if the owner/tinkerer hadn't even cleaned the dial, my massive worry would be damage to the movement. Rust basically. I bought a Date Just years ago that looked fantastic from the outside. Apart from a tiny red mark at 6 on the dial. I opened it, literally just to get some knowledge of a Rolex movement. But when I did I discovered some tiny bits of rust where water had entered the watch at some stage. I should say the watch was operating fine. Within a month the movement was basically dead. Rust had entered the movement and caused all kinds of issues. It was basically a write off for anything other than spare parts. I'd be opening that watch asap. Its easy to drop the movement/dial and hands out of that watch in one go and clean the dial but to get to those mineral deposits and clean the crystal, you'd have to pop the whole crystal out. Easy enough but only if you have the tools. Then you'd need to pressure test the bloody thing. I hate to say it mate, but it might just be worth taking a little hit and moving it on.
Cheers for the comment, mate. I opened the case back, movement looks pretty clean to my eyes, apart from there being surface marks on the rotor. I agree that this can’t have been done by a professional aswell. Especially leaving that piece of fabric underneath the Breitling logo, and having some dust on the dial.
Thought you did, mate. Noticed your comment name changed. Cheers for the continued support. Hope you’re doing well also. It really is a shame about the watch, but it’s still nice nonetheless.
I was really really thinking about getting the hamilton intra matic chrono with a cream dial… 20 minutes before the end of the auction. Maybe i missed out for good😅
is this one true inhouse? I dont think this model is in house sadly. can you return it? definitely doesnt seem like 1500 pounds though. sorry for your issues man, too bad. ebay has a return policy and even a authenticity vendor that will hold the watch up and notify you of things like the fog etc.
It’s got the B45 movement (ETA 2834-2). I’ve listed it on eBay, but mentioned the fogging and scratches etc. So should be fine, whether I’ll get my money back is another question.
Well , we live and learn .... Was the watch properly described in the lot description e.g. over-polished and showing water damage ? Presumably not or you wouldn't have bid ? Have you got recourse to return it to Fellows ? You've paid a fair wedge of fees for their services and one of those services is accurately describing the lot . They should let you keep the blue bag too. Is the Headwind supposed to have any water resistance ? Looks like a diver .... If so then how did the water get in ? It'll make a nice watch but you've given yourself a load of jobs to do to make it happen....
I mean they are properly vague with the description on everything really. I should’ve known about the fogging from the pictures, but thought it was bad lighting. I’m very glad I got the blue bag, though, it’s a piece of art. It’s one of those things, though. It would be a great piece to have if I was further down into my horology studies.
Congratulations, you've just purchased a watch from a brand that is the MOST expensive to service. You can be certain that the service price will be the same, or more expensive than the purchase price. Whatever damage is visible on the dial implies that it was not serviced, so the movement will need a service too. Think about it, whatever you have observed to be wrong would also have been visible to a jeweller, if it had actually been serviced. So, the fact that it merely appears to be running fine is not the actual reality. Get rid of it.
I agree that Breitling are stupidly priced for servicing, but for the Headwind it is £440 direct from Breitling. Which is around how much my Monza cost to service. Taking it to a watchmaker would just give me recommendations and what to do next to be honest, mate.
God!!! AMZWATCH Who would have thought those gorgeous watches go for that low!!!
Lovely
I like the watch I got from MAMACOO. That rubber strap combo looks really cool! Been wearing it since last year and love every minute of it.
Lovely
Great to see this channel growing. It deserves more views
Good to hear from you again, mate. Hope you and your family are doing well.
MAMACOO watches are great and affordable!
MAMACOO watch are the best, I say this from experience.

Love Breitling
I love them when they’re not wet 😂

That Longines was a fantastic price! Massive mistake there fella.
Might see if the guy who won it is interested in a Breitling.
@@WatchCharter they've got a fantastic Longines, why would they be interested in that overpriced Breitling?
Because it’s a 1 of 1 wet one.

@@WatchCharteryeah I’d do the same mate. I really hope you get a result.
Cheers mate, I’ll let you know what happens 👍
Get yourself an Omega aqua-terra from Joma Shop, and call it a day.
bezel seems working really well mate, in the end, learning from mistakes..
Yh atleast I can hear that sweet symphony from time to time 😂
Cool t-shirt, where did you buy it ?
Cheers mate. Got it from Ted Baker, but they’ve gone bump now.

@@WatchCharter Great news. So long as there's no red-ish hue anywhere you're fine. Good luck with it, whatever you decide.
Hey dude I've changed my name from winstonefromafrica to this one. Hope you're well. Great video as usual! Shame about the watch

Gotta love being treated like a criminal when picking up a 1k watch 😆
It really was a great experience 😂
MAMACOO has set a new standard for replica watches. Their craftsmanship is impeccable. Its hard to tell the difference from the originals
Crazy
I forgot to mention in the video that the Lume pads have basically been destroyed. So that’s another thing pointing towards water damage.

Wish I bid on it too, mate. Would’ve been better than a wet Breitling.
So, you’ve purchased a Breitling for a beater. Enjoy it and don’t look back.
On the bright side, it still is a very pretty piece.
the hat goes hard.... link?
You can only get them with a watch purchase, mate. Think there are some being resold on eBay, though.
@@WatchCharter a bought a chronomat a few months ago and didnt get one :(
Did you buy it directly from Breitling?
Great watch!
Cheers mate, just wish it was less wet.
Wish Swatch would buy Breitling. The brand is currently stale and extinct to me.

Auction house, mate.
