- Commentary explaining how to achieve a gold time on the first challenge from the Gran Tour Special Event. This is one of the toughest events in the game in my opinion, so this will take lots of practice, and trial and error. Hope this video helps you.

Reflecting back after getting the platinum, THIS EVENT right here is the hardest. Honestly it makes the Nürburgring and Monza Vettel challenge look like a walk in the park. I would even venture to say it's easier than the Suzuka Vettel challenge. This is extremely difficult. Thanks for the all the videos Oink. I know you're not active anymore, but without you I would have had an even harder time getting this platinum.
It's all about letting go of the throttle a lot really. Controlling your accelerating and never going full throttle until you're certain you know you can. Also Suzuka Red Bell challenge is still the hardest, I golded it, but having 2 consistent laps with a fictional speed monster with ridge racer handling in a real track as difficult as Suzuka is ridiculous.
This event is no joke. I'm .3 from the gold target time. Very challenging! Thanks for the video Oink.

Finally got this done thanks to you. I remember being ten years old and not being able to get Silver with a controller. I'm 21 now and with a wheel it was brutal but considerably easier in comparison. Final time was 1:16:922
For anyone that's interested in my settings:
Input device: Logitech G29 (using paddle shifters)
TC: 7
ABS: 1
Steering Sens: +1
Driving line: On (it's fairly accurate but I do recommend going slightly wider before the tunnel).

I left GT5 with way too many "not gold trophies".
Monza took me 2 tries, Rome 1, but this and the Lambo in Toscana are harder, I'll try your settings and let you know (never tried with TCS yet, I thought I'd lose time)
@@Sianissa You do technically lose time but you can also make up for it by having more successful runs. Without TC I was spinning out way too much. Just don't go above TC 7 or 1 ABS. Otherwise you WILL lose too much time.
@@Sianissa Toscana Lambo is a pain but imo nowhere near as bad as Eiger. After having gotten the platinum, I can confidently say Eiger is way, way harder than even the X2010 time trial on Suzuka. For me, Eiger probably took nearly 20 hours over 2 or 3 weeks of daily attempts. Suzuka took maybe 4 hours in total over 2 days. At least the X2010 has insane downforce.
Toscana probably took 2 or 3 days and closer to 8 hours. Make sure you look for guides after 2012 or 2013 because the track layout was changed to be much harder a while back. Definitely possible but not easy or fun.

sometimes when I come back to this game I question the physics so much
perfect run, been trying this a few days now with all settings, got down to 1.17.0015 was starting to think it was impossible as i thought i nailed it. what settings do you use???
Which configuration did you use on a DS3 controller, is impossible to me to get gold in this trial =(
Anyone know why the car is so much easier to control in practice mode? Even with matching settings?

Ugh... Just came upon this video thinking I'd finally found the one guide that might held me shave off my final 3 tenths, but then I realised that I've already watched this before. (It's a great video by the way!). ...I'm going to try again, pausing at each section to watch the video clip as I go...
I felt like dying last night because I hit 1:17.4 after fluffing my final gear change - shifted down instead of up as I pulled away from the final corner. Obviously I'm a moron. ¬.¬

I just got 1:16.896 and I swear you gain like a whole second just by liberal application of handbrake through the first sector to get the car to turn. The rest is just keeping speed and keeping the oversteer in check. This is with ABS 10, TC 5. Probably should have turned ABS down but I hadn’t watched to that point in the vid yet. This challenge is great, proves GT5 is still the goat in some aspects.
The car don't help. Is it on ice scates? What a bag of bollocks!
If it was impossible with a ps3 controller why would they put that event in the game

There was absolutely NO room for error but I honestly felt like the Lambo Murci' grand tour was garder due to the fact I play with no track map abd it was dark as all hell so I was relying heavily on pattern.

Great guide. Now I know exactly where to get the last half second I need
actually ABS allows the racer to brake whilst turning into corners that is with the right downforce and suspension settings.

This ABS trick worked for me during Jeff Gordon 's NASCAR overtaking challenges ''after a yellow flag'' and ''after a pit stop'' !
I got the platinum trophy on GT5 with a pad so nothing is impossible(:
Put your traction control on 3 everything else off with stick and I got 1:16.008
