Add a couple of my favorites Ben Webster, Oscar Peterson, and one that I heard live several times in a small intimate jazz club in my native Denmark (club was in Copenhagen) Dexter Gordon.
Did she do it because she had bad musical taste? ...or because your room lacked the proper furniture and decor needed to complement such a Picassoesque mural? -Dr. Smith
If you like this Brubeck track, check out a similar song called "Golden Brown". You should also listen to "Cast Your Fate To The Wind" by David Benoit (not the late wrestler). The original was by Vince Guaraldi, the pianist who scored Charlie Brown cartoons. Benoit later assumed the job and has done that music since.
It's jazz, in the fifties and sixties, people that liked jazz had a certain dress code. At least in my native country Denmark. You were cordoroy pants, dark colours, or brown, oversized sweaters, or black turleneck with black jeans. Colors should definitely be dark or muted, beige, gray, olive green. No pinks, yellow etc.
It amazes me how musicians of this caliber can make it seem so "effortless". But obviously there is nothing "easy" about any of their parts in this piece. Personally, I would say Joe's is the hardest, followed close second by Paul's. Dave's part would be next, leaving Gene's as technically the "easiest" (in my thinking). However... Gene's part I would say is actually the most important part. I would be curious to know: Which member do you believe has the "easiest job" on this piece? Who has the most difficult job? -Dr. Smith
'Now he's plyaing the drums' - Hip Hop Head's comment about one of the best drummers who has ever lived 😂😂😂
The studio version is the best song ever, especially with headphones on
You must have terrible speakers if you only hear 1 note on that piano.
that part
I don´t think the problem isn´t his speakers but the space between his ears.
i can faintly hear the other ones
Have you guys listened to Joey Alexander yet? Was a Grammy nominee at 12 years old
Might I suggest some other jazz you might enjoy - Thelonius Monk, Charlie Parker, John Coltrain to name a few.
And Vince Guarldi Trio
