It's all hit and miss on youtube. I have 5 other channels. Even when I follow the same formula of previous videos those may not get high numbers. No real strategy and nobody has the exact answer. Since you're dealing with viewers viewers can want to watch something one day and nothing at all the next. I have an anonymous channel that I post nothing on but I have subscribers somehow. Maybe people subscribed because they agree with my comments but it is 0 content on it. So, it's so many factors to this. The main thing is never give up
