I freakin love this song. I don't know what everyone's problem is. This is William's solo album, he can do whatever he wants. Imagine a heavy, distorted guitar version with crazy drum fills and everything. It's structurally and thematically like an old SP song. Plus when the strings come in, pure bliss.
Corgan never lets me down. Excellent song, arrangement, powerful vocal, and solid lyrics. Totally different, that is why he is in the master class. I have been on the ride with Corgan since 91, because that's what his art is for many of us, a ride, spiritual, musical, personal, and a soundtrack to our lives. Every step of the way I have sensed many like me who are somehow in the same place aging with the music for the present. Most underrated and misunderstood artist of the last 25 years, which is also part of the beauty.
Too many haters and critics on here. 1994 called, they want their narrow-minded audience back. I can't wait for the new album. WPC is still writing great songs.
This sounds like something from Adore or even the softer Mellon Collie. I don't get haters, he has kept his essence through all these years and this is something actually refreshing. I am looking forward to the whole album or more material.
Now that 3/4's of the band is reunited, I wish that Billy would have sat on Ogilala and recorded the album with them. It would have been the perfect comeback album!
This Is the voice and music that was the narration of my youth, and even today when I need that boost of memory and happiness I tune into Billy Corgan and his music , it transports me to infinitely wonderful memories. Thank you I will never be able to fully express my gratitude for what this amazingly talented individual has given me.
William, I just want to hug you.. Thank you for your sharing of your beautiful intimate soul in this way with the world, and the sacrifices you make to keep doing this.
I really enjoy this direction that WPC is taking. It feels a deal more honest than the last few Pumpkins efforts, not that I disliked them. I love the paradigm shift that he is making from a primarily instrumental first emphasis, to one of stripped sound and incredibly thoughtful lyricism. The lyrics are honest, vulnerable, and emotionally attached. It is a thoughtful and intimate poetic discourse between he and his son in which he recounts with some ambivalence, the bright future of new youth, and he warns his son of the darkness in this tired old world of ours. He expresses in such beautiful terms, not just the wisdom of an artist, but the intense love and protection of a father figure. What impressed me most about the song is that it differs so much in it's source of origin from not just previous solo work, but also Pumpkins material. Corgan has always spoken of love and loss, and knowledge, but this source has so largely been this immense body of anger and angst. Not just the anger of a questionable youth, or of social impositions. But rather, an anger that is toward the self. Everything, even if so beautiful at times, has always been slathered in anger. The Pumpkins music was/is a bit of a reactionary gut punch originated in so many forms of anger and dissent. This song, on the other hand, isn't sourced from that same point of origin. Corgan speaks of love once again, and I believe it this time. He sources this inspiration from positive feelings, paternal feelings. It isn't a gut punch. It isn't reactionary. It takes time and wanders (or wonders) thoughtfully. It is brutally honest and utterly rebellious in a mature sort of way if you can respect an artist who has made something beautiful from what I might consider to be an unconventional source. Anger is so easy to shape into brilliance, but joy and contentment aren't so easily shaped into some appealing artistic product. Anger creates fantastic products, but this is (in my opinion) art. I hope to hear more from this direction. It seems the rat has finally escaped the cage once and for all and he is better for it. Up and away WPC! I don't personally feel that WPC is retiring. If anything, I feel that William Patrick Corgan is just beginning a new chapter. Billy Corgan might be retiring and frankly I am alright with that. Billy is a child and the Pumpkins are the toys and follies and brashness of youth. WPC is the man and the father and the mature artist entering the second act of his life. He let Billy and the Pumpkins have their time in the sun. Now it's time for WPC to have his.
[Verse 1] I went down the middle The world survives Look out son the air's alive Call it ether elemental eye Dark nights One magic heart deceives One little mind to ease off One silver drum that beats, oh This mountain was torn from us This mountain was torn from us [Chorus] If I'm leaving you without return a snare Can a boy float through time and space You can call it home if you wish or if it's fair But it's mine to share and share alike Won't you mourn with me Lover won't you mourn with me Lovers won't you mourn with me [Verse 2] Fall across the middle The world survives Look outs on the air's alive Call it ether elemental eye Ooh, dark nights One magic heart to fly One little life to light up One silver eye to eye, ooh This mountain was born of us This mountain was born of us [Chorus] If I'm leaving you without return A snare Can a boy float through time and space You can call it home if you wish or if it's fair But it's mine to share and share alike Won't you mourn with me Lover won't you mourn with me Lovers won't you mourn with me Lovers won't you mourn with me Lovers won't you mourn with me Lovers won't you mourn with me [Outro] Lovers won't you mourn with me Lovers won't you mourn with me Lovers won't you mourn with me
This song is absolutely stunning. It's the bit where it starts 'if I'm leaving you..' that really gets me. Beautiful song. So excited for the solo album now.
You never fail to move me! Don't ever question where you are in the moment as an artist, no matter what fans who only care for nostalgia say. You are an artist and ever-changing and growing. It's impossible for that to always align with every fan or music chart. You are a rare and amazing talent and I will always appreciate you whether or not I relate to you in the moment, agree with your political views, or if you stand on stage with Jimmy, James and D'arcy, others, or alone. Shine on Corgan. The universe sings through you and it always will.
William, what a beautiful song. Your level of musicianship goes beyond many. Stay true to your own beliefs, and feel free to do whatever you feel strong about. The best comes out of that, or at least the most veracious kind of music. We are on your side.
*It really brings out your powerful vocals William. I love it! Please don't forget Atlanta, GA. You always sell out your acoustic and solo shows here.*
You are my favorite artist, vocally and lyrically. Love this very much and cannot wait to hear the rest of the album. Thank you for coming to Nashville this year.
I'll be coming from Arkansas ! Show me around Nashvegas ! This will be my third time to see Billy, first time went awol before deployment to Ashville in 2007, pure magic , then the Plainsong tour was pure and something I can't describe , now this , such a new page so unknown but familiar , I can't wait .
Wow O Wow, THey should call him Corgan Billy from now one. But thats not what they called him before. But they should have. Corgan Billy was younger years ago. A true hero to all of the land of the nation and Canada. Hi Billy. It was almost haloween last month and there was smarshing pumpinks
Excited for the new album Billy! In some peoples eyes you're constantly put down for new material but that's just cause you placed the bar so high in the 90s. It's a form of flattery actually. But I just enjoy every new music offering you give.... thanks for being you.
Overlooked that completely, stumbled over this in a first glimpse of late september autumn blues...Nothing suites better than Billy´s Piano+Voice to it. Reminds me of one of my favorites "Soot and Stars" a little bit. Love to see him live again in Germany!
Can't stop listening to this song! I love that he's harmonizing with the music. I love in Today and Soma and the song Baby how he harmonizes. Keep it up WPC!!
I just came to delete a bad comment I made about this song when it came out because it's actually amazing.
Corgan's NPR Tiny Desk Concert brought me here. Beautiful song.
I freakin love this song. I don't know what everyone's problem is. This is William's solo album, he can do whatever he wants. Imagine a heavy, distorted guitar version with crazy drum fills and everything. It's structurally and thematically like an old SP song. Plus when the strings come in, pure bliss.
BooYahCubes there are alot of people that love it wouldnt worry bout it
agreed!

Travis Travinyle 💗
Great comment, Travis!
Tried to say it better but you nailed it. I totally agree!
I agree, well said.
Totally agree...."Master Class"... WPC will go down as one of the greatest songwriters EVER!!!
Love how he's constantly evolving and doing what he wants to do. Always been my favorite, always will.
Actually reckon this is the most authentic piece of music from him in ages Those strings are destroying me.
aaron ballard Agree!
that If All Goes Wrong rock/doc is fucking fire
One word. Gossamer.
Eh? Try Tom Tom...stellar...ma belle
It's as good as anything on MCIS.
Too many haters and critics on here. 1994 called, they want their narrow-minded audience back. I can't wait for the new album. WPC is still writing great songs.
Ogilala > SAOSB vol.1
LOL BEST COMMENT!
This sounds like something from Adore or even the softer Mellon Collie. I don't get haters, he has kept his essence through all these years and this is something actually refreshing. I am looking forward to the whole album or more material.
Has MCIS all over it :)
Now that 3/4's of the band is reunited, I wish that Billy would have sat on Ogilala and recorded the album with them. It would have been the perfect comeback album!
This is actually very beautiful.
Give us more Billy
Quando la sofferenza impregna l'esistenza queste frasi diventano un inno alla purezza dei sentimenti. Forse esiste una speranza.
I dig it. Billy + strings = gold
always works!
Piano though.................
Incidentally, Billy Strings is an incredible artist. Give 'Dust in a Baggie' a listen.
Calm and romantic... Waiting for the full album
Angela T , if you love this song, another song off the album was played last year at a few shows. "The Spainards" video can be found on UA-cam.
best thing he's done in years!

This sounds like one of the "piano and voice only" Adore B sides.
I love it.
Ell Umbra except a ridiculous amount of vibrato. I can't get over it.
Fortunately, most people aren't musicians. I don't even know what vibrato is.
Ell Umbra , wanted to right just that!
Beautiful! It's nice to see how a great musician can get even better with age.
Murilo Guimarães especially someone as massively talented as this guy
This is a great song for the first single. It sounds like magic.
William, I just want to hug you.. Thank you for your sharing of your beautiful intimate soul in this way with the world, and the sacrifices you make to keep doing this.

Caribou Blend Beautifully said. I can't wait to see him this November. It'll be my first time seeing him live.
Beautiful
[Verse 1]
I went down the middle
The world survives
Look out son the air's alive
Call it ether elemental eye
Dark nights
One magic heart deceives
One little mind to ease off
One silver drum that beats, oh
This mountain was torn from us
This mountain was torn from us
[Chorus]
If I'm leaving you without return a snare
Can a boy float through time and space
You can call it home if you wish or if it's fair
But it's mine to share and share alike
Won't you mourn with me
Lover won't you mourn with me
Lovers won't you mourn with me
[Verse 2]
Fall across the middle
The world survives
Look outs on the air's alive
Call it ether elemental eye
Ooh, dark nights
One magic heart to fly
One little life to light up
One silver eye to eye, ooh
This mountain was born of us
This mountain was born of us
[Chorus]
If I'm leaving you without return
A snare
Can a boy float through time and space
You can call it home if you wish or if it's fair
But it's mine to share and share alike
Won't you mourn with me
Lover won't you mourn with me
Lovers won't you mourn with me
Lovers won't you mourn with me
Lovers won't you mourn with me
Lovers won't you mourn with me
[Outro]
Lovers won't you mourn with me
Lovers won't you mourn with me
Lovers won't you mourn with me
love the new song. strings are very pretty and corgan's melodic vocal makes it.
This song is absolutely stunning. It's the bit where it starts 'if I'm leaving you..' that really gets me. Beautiful song. So excited for the solo album now.

The most honest music I've heard in a long time
Such a great song! Nice waking up to a gem like this.
Not even close to half a mil views, so disappointing, such an amazing song deserves so much more.
This is so much better than most of the last SP album, guys.
Billy, you are my HERO! Sounds great! So powerful and beautiful! This is what music sounds like!!! 🖤🖤🖤
Sounds great to me! Looking forward to the release of the album.
William, what a beautiful song. Your level of musicianship goes beyond many. Stay true to your own beliefs, and feel free to do whatever you feel strong about. The best comes out of that, or at least the most veracious kind of music. We are on your side.
It sounds so great. Just love Corgan.
its worth listening to this song more than once! gets better and better...... 6th time now! gorgeous!
*It really brings out your powerful vocals William. I love it! Please don't forget Atlanta, GA. You always sell out your acoustic and solo shows here.*
Such a brilliant performance on Jimmy Fallon last night!! UNGOWA!!
I´m very happy about this song and the style .
Never gets old. One momentum upon another.
Why do people think it's fake vibrato? He live streamed him singing this song today and proved its real.
This song made me cry. No bullshit. Welcome back Billy!
Thanks, Corgan ... for being an escape and a inspirational figure
Very nice song !
Can't wait for the rest of the album !
Well done Mr. Corgan
Just notice the roman numerals are his birthday. Neat.
Oh my God....I am speechless...
I picked back up SP on the 30 Days project, and Mr. Corgan is absolutely awe inspiring!
Love it! Sounds like Adore goth feel meets Billy's Zwan-era pop-ness. So happy for Billy Corgan dropping some new awesome music!
Alexander Rarelysoft mixed with the American Gothic time period & If All Goes Wrong
American Gothic was part of the Zeitgeist era...billy even called it a Zeitgeist+
This song has declared that WPC new album will be great...
Amazing song. Preordering album!
*Beautiful William. Atlanta would love to see a date. We proudly support your acoustic and solo projects!* ❤️
Yes I was at Earthlink for the Future Embrace show, met him after the show, amazing night. Please come down south.
All I can say is "BEAUTIFUL"!
Wonderfully different! This album sure isn't going to be thefutureembrace 2. Can't wait to hear more!
This song is addicting and the piano sounds deep and vibrant. This single offering makes me think this album has potential to be a classic.
Beautiful.
Billy, this song is so good, I have to play it over and over again. Very touching. I just broke up and I tell you this comforts me
love the panning or tremelo effect on the vocals
My ticket arrived for his solo show in Dublin this June. So excited! :D
I hope he performs this live, amazing song.
This guys catalog is amazin, what genre hasn't he touched. Hip hop, nope eye was suppose to be for shaq.
This is the best thing I've heard in a long time, from anyone. Damn.

Rebecca now that I hear this I'm bummed that I skipped the show..I have a pumpkins tattoo I just haven't been feeling the new stuff..but this is good.
A new song from A Perfect Circle and a new album from WPC? This has been a good month.
I love you Billy, to forgive ... Keeps us together
Bought my tickets already for Boulder. 1st 4 rows guaranteed. Love the ticketing preference for legit fans.
I do not know if William will read it - but I need to say it - I am in love with this song. It is awesome!
This song is amazing. Truly something special.
Simple and beautiful. I love it. Sounds like the In Plain Song tour (which was a complete success).
GOD, BEAUTIFUL SONG!
Am I the only one who really loves the album cover?
Billy Corgan forever
Wow O Wow, THey should call him Corgan Billy from now one. But thats not what they called him before. But they should have. Corgan Billy was younger years ago. A true hero to all of the land of the nation and Canada. Hi Billy. It was almost haloween last month and there was smarshing pumpinks
Thank you, William!
Such a beautiful voice. Billy Corgan is brilliant wow

Go, Billy!
Wishing you all the creative energy in the world to make more wonderful music! :)
Lovely
Great! Great song. Listened ... and listened again ... and again. We missed you!
Greetings from Italy
THANK YOU
Great song! Love BC's evolution as an artist. Can't wait for the new album!
I like it actually, good job Billy, Patrick, Corgan.
Beauty, honesty and heart, I love this song and everything about it!
Beautiful song
Beautiful track, can't wait for the album!
Blows my mind. 00:58 `If I`m leaving you` blows my mind.
Excited for the new album Billy! In some peoples eyes you're constantly put down for new material but that's just cause you placed the bar so high in the 90s. It's a form of flattery actually. But I just enjoy every new music offering you give.... thanks for being you.
Great ballad!!!
Grande Billy......!!!!!!!
Most of the music Billy has made for 5-10 years was really hit or miss. This song is pretty good. Billy does a great job of singing in this.
Such an amazing song. Love to hear these melodies, right where Zwan, and TheFutureEmbrace left off!
one of my utmost favourite artists since the 80's! Voice & brilliance never disappoints. Thank you for the great music over the years!!!
It reminds me a lot of the musical, quiet and gothic atmosphere of Adore. Loved it! Thanks for that, Billy (ops, William)
Greetings from Brazil.
My favorite song of his in a decade. Maybe even since Machina's closing track, "Age of Innocence."
beautifully haunting..
Its been a long time since ive really looked forward to release of billy's music. But this is lovely hope there's couple of rockin tracks on it .
This album is actually beautiful. This mature and enduring work from one who has matured and adored. Blessings to you, William Patrick Corgan.
Fantastic!!!!!! Come to Argentina again, William!!!!!!!
Beautiful. I'm in love with this song right now. It's been so long since music has made me feel anything. Of course it would be Billy.
