About Raag:
Raag Jaijaiwanti is a raag of Khamaj thaat, it is considered to be a creation of the divine mind of the tenth Sikh Guru - Guru Tegh Bahadur ji. According to the Guru Granth Sahib, this Raag is a mixture of two other raags - Bilaval and Sorath. This Raag has not been mentioned in any ancient Indian classical scriptures on music. It is also not mentioned in the raagmalas at the end of Granth Sahib. Although it is a very sweet and touching Raag that has a very wide public appeal, it is a very complex raag. Raag Jaijaiwanti is performed during the first prahar of the night - from six to nine in the evening.
This baithak was held at the initiative of Ved Gupta founder of bazm e Khas foundation live concerts.
