The fact that he doesn't actually have perfect pitch is exceptional and motivates me to practice harder. I also have relative pitch and I can make up some songs by ear almost instantly, but for most songs it takes me a bit to figure them out. I thought it was not possible to be this good without perfect pitch. Maybe some day I'll be close to being this good.

Don’t know if you’ll see this dooo, but just wanted to say thanks. 2 years ago I saw the original “playing guitar on Omegle but I pretend I’m a beginner” and it inspired me to pick up guitar. Edit: already said this in replies, but I have played bass for 10 years and piano for around the same amount. Even with perfect pitch it is hard to do much with an instrument. Perfect pitch makes singing easier a hundredfold, but it only makes playing instruments easier like tenfold. You still need to put in the time and effort to learn how to play the instrument and to learn the nuances. Most musicians learn relative pitch when they learn their instruments anyway so perfect pitch does not help as much as non-musicians might think.

Just because you play an instrument doesn't mean you get less value from it if you're not singing. A well-trained instrumentalist can derive just as much benefit from it as a well-trained vocalist. If you're not a proficient singer or instrumentalist, perfect pitch isn't going to make either one easier per se. You also need to put in the time and effort to learn how to control your voice and sing in tune.
