This is one of the toughest eternal songs of Kishore Kumar. Genius in KishoreDa had made this song surge miles ahead even against a legendary female singer who sang the very same song in her style beautifully. Nobody dares to sing KishoreDa's version. If at all, should it be as a tribute to him out of reverence? I felt SPB's voice lacked the depth to pursue this song. His voice also not joining in shruthi in many places had made the matters worse. I was lucky enough to watch SP live on several stages. Once In sydney, he sang a medley of songs. Songs of Rafi, Kishore, Hemant Kumar, ghandasala etc. I must admit, their songs were much more melodious in SP’s voice. He is a true Gandharva that’s why he was called so early in life. RIP SPB.
One of the Best all time hit compositions of Panchamda which has both female and male versions in the film "Mehbooba". When Panchamda asked Kishoreda to sing the song for recording, Kishoreda said "Lataji first ".. Those who are critisizing this legendary singer.. arent aware that he sang songs which were too difficult for others from Bollywood. Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan all came to the South and failed.. but SPB made it in the north. Kishore song SPB can sing, but Kishore would never have made it to sing many of SPB songs. He was way ahead of the others. Jealous comments here ..

He sang this song well in his own way..but randomly comparing him with kishore is out of context..not at the level of kishore...but good in tamil in south ...

Spb is the best singer in india
Besides many awards, he was awarded prestigious Padma Vibhushan award for his contribution to playback singing and music. And some idiots are deriding him out of sheer arrogance. He is an icon of great singing. He sang in 16 languages and some think he is nowhere near Kishore Kumar. What a pity!!

This is one of the toughest eternal songs of Kishore Kumar. Genius in KishoreDa had made this song surge miles ahead even against a legendary female singer who sang the very same song in her style beautifully.
Nobody dares to sing KishoreDa's version. If at all, should it be as a tribute to him out of reverence?
I felt SPB's voice lacked the depth to pursue this song. His voice also not joining in shruthi in many places had made the matters worse.
Still, we should be able to appreciate the efforts he had put in.

Bear in mind that the original was sung by KISHORE KUMAR, so studio or not, Spb could never get even close to Kishoreda's rendition.
There is no comparison between Balu sir and any other singer.....the maestro who sang more than 40000 thousand songs is beyond comparison. Nevertheless if anyone wants to compare plz listen this song from"ye sham mastani "concert when he was in full form.... At the time of this concert he was 73....plz keep this in mind.

I was lucky enough to watch SP live on several stages. Once In sydney, he sang a medley of songs. Songs of Rafi, Kishore, Hemant Kumar, ghandasala etc. I must admit, their songs were much more melodious in SP’s voice. He is a true Gandharva that’s why he was called so early in life. RIP SPB.

One of the Best all time hit compositions of Panchamda which has both female and male versions in the film "Mehbooba". When Panchamda asked Kishoreda to sing the song for recording, Kishoreda said "Lataji first ".. Later only after having a rehersal of the song at home, Kishoreda came prepared for final recording in Studio. Such a devotion has made the nostalgic melody immortal.
