I still love watching this movie! The book is obviously the best, but they did a great job visually bringing this book to life. And don't get me started on Lana Del Rey's Young and Beautiful...just amazing and perfect for this movie!
the book only makes you even angrier. really portraits her two faced personality. "her voice is full of money", Gatsby says. I saw that that scene was cut from the movie. really broke my heart.
Sometimes feel like Gatsby, desperately hoping for a chance to rekindle love long lost. Wishing for a chance that she might just notice you one more time, and that there are possibilities for the future. Even if the circumstances suggest it could never be again, you'd do anything and wait however long just to get that one moment, that one more chance to really show what love could have and should have been, and will be.
i love lana del rey. she's timeless and her voice is too, and just her whole persona, and character. i feel at peace when I listen to her music. and whatever stress or nervousness i was feeling or fear all goes away
Blown away by the magnificent visuals and production, they deserved the academy award-and the soundtrack just as magnificent-there aren't many films today that match the sheer beauty of this motion picture-F. Scott Fitzgerald would be proud!!! Haunting, fleeting, intense, tragic-ah the power of love-rapture, passion, pain, heartbreak,-aren't we all reaching for the green light in the darkness and as the years pass it gets farther away..
This movie really really broke my heart. As a species we're the worst. I can't believe how we can be so intolerant and prefer living good life than love. I really cried so much.
What an incredible song for a fantastic song! I wish there was a Gatsby who really tried his best to prove his love. He fought and gave all he had to win her heart. The way he looks at her and smiles at her. It'd be nice to find a man that loved me that much. Every actor, actress played their part super well. Everyone deserves an Oscar. Baz Luhrman is a genius. This song is so beautiful!
I Think its perfect that Leo dies... not because I dislike Gatsby. But because if he can't have Daisy... the love of his life, he wouldn't want to longer exist. Not one person went to his funeral except Carraway because he didn't care to make any other friends. He just wanted to to impress Daisy with his fortune. Dude loved her entirely.
I absolutely adore this book, and while I loved Robert Redford as Gatsby, DiCaprio has done an equally amazing job. This song perfectly encompasses the relationship between Daisy and Gatsby. Shallow but deep. Although I may sound overly sentimental over books, this video brought me to tears. Lovely job:)
What is it about Leo, that whenever he's on the screen, I would see only him? He's so intense, so credible and so freaking enthralling in all of his performances, I just can't take my eyes off of him... Leo is an acting God and I honestly don't get it how anyone would question or criticize his acting skills. There, I've finally said it! :)
Loved every second of this movie. I don't know why some people were just cutting it down. It was magnificent! The music, the effects, the actors... it didn't even seem as though I was sitting through a 2 hour movie. I wanted it to be longer!
The story of the Great Gatsby is a tragedy, not just because he dies at the end, but because even if he were to have stayed alive, his life would've always been full of disappointment. His love/obsession was for a girl that did not exist anymore. Even on the day when he re-united with his true love, he was disappointed with how it went. The book says that "Daisy fell short of his dreams" because of the "colossal vitality of his illusion". This is what makes the story so sad :(
This is the best young and beautiful vid ive seen! I wish the end didnt have the date of the movie bc now its in the past but its still awesome! goood job!
THIS.MOVIE.IS.SO.SAD!! I cried like a baby and am tearing up right now!! He had so much love, so much hope, and he died and no one even cared!!! He loved daisy so much :((
You did a wonderful job with this video !! I try to share this link the most i can on other sites !!! i come here almost every day just to listen to the song and watch the video and can watch out the clicks that have been rising since !! congrats!!!
Nice vid. I watched the 1973 Redford version last week, and then watched these trailers again. Looks like Baz is really trying to knock the story outta the park. For starters, there's s lot more flowers in that scene (opening to your video)! Great job.
@Yoko Higuchi Thanks for your WONDERFUL tribute, and what a BRILLIANT start!! At the first time this conversation simply was cute/fun, yet the more I watch it the more it connects to the story/song. =========== Gatsby: 'Have you... you got everything you need?' Nick: 'Perhaps more flowers?' Gatsby: 'Do you think it's too much?' Nick: 'I think it's what she'd want' Gatsby: 'I think so too'
A Tribute to The Great Gatsby Aka The Wolf of Wall Street Aka Leonardo DiCaprio .... honestly guys.... Leo made this movies so awesome and btw....its a shame he did not won the Oscars this year ._.
Being away from the movie industry for almost 6 years I think Tobey Maguire did it very good too, But ofcourse Leonardo Dicaprio does another great performance as usual, I totaly agree on him recieving a oscar! No doubt he is one of my all time favourite acters!

I watched this movie for at least 3 times, I listened this song for at least 300 times. I finally know women better.

Loved the book, and this movie definitely made it on my top 10 favorite movies.
“Oh, Gatsby! I was a fool to leave you. I don’t want to go home,” Daisy said.
“Then don’t,” Gatsby said. :)

Leo's got a great soul, and I will still love him when he's no longer young and beautiful...

This was downright gorgeous, heck...
I thought the film was..meh, but visually it was one of the most beautiful films I've seen. Plus I really the anachronism with the modern music etc.
I found the film itself boring, love Leo but I cant stand hopeless romantics. But I absolutely agree, visually it was amazingly beautiful.
+Claire Victoria Baz really has a knack for the visual aspects of filmmaking.
Loved every second of this movie. I don't know why some people were just cutting it down. It was magnificent! The music, the effects, the actors... it didn't even seem as though I was sitting through a 2 hour movie. I wanted it to be longer!
You are an artist Yoko, great job.
Amazing film, great song. I hope it wins an Oscar or two.
