I hoped that people would like this design and try it out. I’m disappointed that so few people have watched it so far, so if you want to help me out, please share this video with someone you think might enjoy it, or to a facebook page. It makes me sad that when I think I’ve created something which vaguely could be called art (instead of just a cartoon or blob turned into a bird) it gets a fraction of the views. This is the fault of UA-cam, because my views depend on UA-cam showing my video, and they only want to show the ones that fit the parameters they have chosen for me. Help! I WANT TO BREAK FREE!!! Thanks for listening x
Awe, idk what happened! This video just posted an hour ago! Is this a repost? It's super cute. I love practicing trees. But I also love the blob birds. ❤😂
@@windywednesday4166It went up at 9pm my time, so about 55 minutes ago. So not a repost. I painted it yesterday! Glad you enjoyed it. I guess I’m just feeling oversensitive tonight as Tamsin isn’t well and it’s been a helluva day!
@DianeAntoneStudio Awe, I hope you feel better. Tbf, complicated real art videos just aren't as flashy or easy as blob Birds! Great information about atmospheric perspective in this video. I'm working on color harmony with "mother color" right now... for instance, making sure I mix a tiny bit of the sky color into my greens. I say "Working On" loosely, it's such a busy time of year right now.
I painted something like this on Sunday as a Christmas card with green and golden trees and gold splatters 😊. I started watercolour painting with landscapes about 40 years ago and used own photos from holidays in Ireland. I also had books and magazines with tutorials, but it's a big difference if you can see it in a video how the techniques work. I learned quite a lot of new things and ways to paint like the loose and whimsical styles which take quite some pressure and the urge to make it perfect 😉. I also used one of your older sketches with 3 birds with hats on as an inspiration for a card to my bird loving friend and it turned out really nice. Thanks a lot for all your efforts and beautiful paintings, Diane. It's always a great pleasure to watch and listen to your chatting, makes me often smile or laugh out loud. Greetings from Germany. Dagmar ❤
I love it Diane! I decided to watch your tutorial and just take various notes of your process, then do my own version. No one would ever know that you “borrowed” this tree idea as both paintings are very lovely but very different. I will post as soon as I am able to take some time for myself at this busy time of the year! I hope you continue to feel better, and thank you for this tutorial and so many others I haven’t yet had time to do. I did, however, make Christmas cards for my golfing friends and a number of family members. As we have a postal strike here in Canada, I hand delivered my cards and it really made my Christmas bright to see and hear the enthusiastic reactions. Thank you so much for what you do - and do so well - also dear Tamsin who happily comes to my aid from time to time. Merry Christmas to you both! 🎄❤️
I have learned so much from you. Personally I miss your previous art work but also continue to learn from your whimsy/cartoony stuff. As a sensitive type I very much admire your tenacity in adapting to get the views. I like and will be trying this design for myself because it’s lovely.
Loved the painting and your story of the hornet. I can only relate by the little lizard visitor in my bathroom the other day. Living in Arizona you never know what you might find. Seasons best wishes to you and yours.
Hi Diane! I love this painting and design! It will be good practice for me to paint the trees...I need the practice, so when I have a chance I will do it. I was stung by a bee or hornet on my birthday a few years ago...the pandemic was beginning to be over.... we were eating outside at a restaurant..it stung me on the face! Can't say I like them either! Thank you so much for your hard work and showing us how to paint watercolor...I've learned a lot from you!😊🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲❤
I really enjoyed your version. It turned out great. I love your reminder to change the green with every tree. I will look harder at trees I see tomorrow, looking for the boughs changing direction. I always do them downward. Plus the crown at the top. Turning the paper upside down to do the ground was different. I've never liked bees, wasps, and yellow jackets. I freeze when they are about. Other people start waving their arms about and screaming. I was stung once, called my dad who could think of nothing to do for it. It was painful, but I am lucky not to be allergic to it. Ever year some wasps start a nest on my garage.
Gracious thank you’s, as always, Dearest Diane! When I finished my 6-7 simple Christmas cards the other day, I bravely announced to my hubby, that I was going to put some practice in for landscapes. As I most always begin my day’s by checking in with/you and your content, I was beyond thrilled to see these lovely trees and your tutorial!!! I will be learning wc for just a year next month, and landscapes being one area that I haven’t spent a whole lot of time at. I agree with you that being inspired by another’s artwork piece and trying to replicate it, but also putting your stamp on it skills wise, has been an excellent way for me to learn skills and techniques. I thank you for all you share with us and do so in a gentle way, you’ve taught me so very much over this year!!! Going to jump right in, and give this a go today! Idk what the heck UA-cam is trying to do of late…but I get the impression that it’s not very kind, in a world where darkness is so easily thrown about 🤔👩🏼🎨👀 Please know that this gal in So. Cali appreciate’s you beyond words and wishes you all the best! Merry Christmas, xoxo Jules 💜✨🎄
I'm not sure if it was hornets or what but they nested in a hole in the ground. My dad was taking me for a ride on the riding mower while he cut the grass...when suddenly he set me down and said RUN! I didn't get stung but he did several times. Love this painting Diane .I'm sorry it's not getting the views you would like . Hugs! deb
Very very nice, seeing as it is now 6:30 pm here in Florida USA and I am a morning/ day painter I certainly will give this a go tomorrow, thank you for the share 🥰🎨
I was in my garage turning on a compressor to air my tires. I felt a tickle in my pant leg just above my knee. I touched the area and didn't feel anything. I didn't think much of it until I felt it again, much stronger. I pulled my ant leg up and a bumble bee fell onto the floor! Amazingly, I wasn't stung. Perhaps I should have bought a lottery ticket.😂
Diane I've watched this twice. Already caught it on Patreon but was busy cooking and I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything because it was so cute. I don't know what's going on with UA-cam either but I'm have to search with lots of effort to get to your videos.
Lovely scene. I've never seen a hornet. Wasp or hornet, that must have been a shocking thing for your husband in the middle of the night! We did encounter a scorpion in the bedroom at my brother-in-law's house in Texas once -- they have all sorts of nasty critters there.
We had a bat come down our chimney, our cat found it. The laugh was my husband tried to catch the bat with a fishing net. Talk about a riot, must have scared the poor bat near death. The cat thought this was great fun. The poor bat finally made it outside unharmed.
What happen to your neighbor is similar to what happens to me from long bodied bees like wasps. I go to sleep and can’t be awakened for some hours. It’s been a very long time since my last sting but I’m VERY careful as I’ve been told the venom is cumulative in our bodies…don’t know that for sure but have heard it.
I think that you are being too hard on yourself. I think art can be anything, I would watch you paint a fence. You have set my painting free, so now I have fun not just try to make a real picture that looks real

Thank you Diane, so pretty! I love the looks of this type of tree stand. Surreal! You do make it look easy! ❤
You are so welcome!
Looks good. Do like your style of painting, Diane, always relaxing to watch. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much 😊
Love this! UA-cam is clearly a very scary and unfair space for creators. Thanks for hanging in there for OUR benefit! You are appreciated!
I love this beautiful winter scene, Diane!
I love when you say ‘’ why not’’ I find myself saying it as I paint as well 😊❤🤗🇨🇦
I love that you are using the Kuretake Art Noveau paints!
Thanks Judit seasons greetings!!

It’s fabulous, Diane! I liked your version better than the original! Thank you for the demonstration.
It's good! Fairly easy too. Thanks.
You're welcome!
I love your tutorials Diane...love your style and techniques….how you explain everything….love the tree painting….thank you 💕
I really enjoy this painting. Thank you for showing your thought process.
I love the depth in this. I will rewatch later when I have my paints out!
Great video and I love how you make it look so easy. I live the blobby birds too - I enjoy all your tutorials! Hope your day tomorrow is great! ❤
I love landscapes and that book is wonderful!

Just saw this and shared it. Lots of people are doing the pine trees this year. Happy Holidays!

I live in the south of England and had a hornet or big wasp in my studio yesterday

Oh Patricia, that sounds very dangerous! Yes, it’s good that you are very careful.
Очень мило❤

I will never paint like you, either. I think I got skipped over when they were handing out artistic abilities.
