The two of you are good examples of different reactions to Armand. He's tired of cleaning up his mess vs he's an asshole lol. It's brilliant. One note, they don't say they want Daniel to remember- Armand says they can bring their boy back. The kid who just says what happened next. So they (specifically Armand) don't have to deal with a older, wiser and far more analytical Daniel.
YOURE RIGHT!!!! Out of the many times I have watched this damn show, it didnt click until you just said it. He said exactly that! "We'll have our boy saying, "what happened next", in no time.". Lol its the inflection of a question that was missing from that statement... So it sounded moreso like he would be remembering things! Lolol. These writers!
Daniel's face when louis asks if he wants to now?! LMFAOOOOO peepaw big mad he actually did not get some louis cookie, but he certainly thought about it now!
It's Resha never falling for anything Armand does for me 😂 That was me from his first scene in season 2 until his last. Assad plays that weird, icky, untrustworthy undertone sooooooooooooo well. Everything he says and does made me just 😒 🕵🏾♀️ the whole season 😂
At some point, I need to go back and see how I felt about him as Rashid because I think I was chilling with him at the beginning, and then things just took such a turn! I would say that our relationship could improve, but we all know what comes next!
@ 😂 yeah, Assad really plays suspicious really well. I don't know how he does it but the second he reveals he's Armand he just becomes super untrustworthy. It's all those weird looks and glances and forced smiles hahahaha
Did you notice that Armand took a while to put Louis in the coffin and feed him the blood? He could have helped him heal much faster, but he took his sweet time..
Best reaction yet... then leave. Same !!! Armand is torturing himself in turn torturing Louis, who is resenting Armand for it. A cycle of toxicity all because they hate themselves and, therefore, one clings and the other placates. Love this show!!!
I have been SO EXCITED to watch your reaction to this episode and you did not disappoint!! Especially when Louis and Armand were fighting, I was bouncing in my seat watching your faces! 😂 Louis is so troubled, he seriously needs therapy, and Armand just wants to be loved…he’s willing to let Louis sleep with all these other men and drain them, then cleans it all up just so he can stay with Louis because he doesn’t want to be alone. It’s sad when you think about it. Love love love your reactions so much! ❤🙌
Oh my gosh, normally I would offer to chip in on the co-pay for therapy, but lord knows they don't need the assistance. Can these people please go to Vampire therapy? PLEASE.
I can't believe this is the very first episode shot for season 2 of interview with the vampire i love seeing Louis and Daniel coming together and realizing the truth about armand the actor who plays young Daniel luke is actually British
Y’all are some of my favorite reactors especially for this show. I laughed so much at this and I think you guys are some of the only people I’ve seen talk about how Armand just lets Louis writhe in pain for days when he could’ve helped. Can’t wait for the next one!
Great reaction as usual. Resha, you had me laughing with your facial expressions and annoyance at Armand. Akaya your comment, "Oh, is this the next meal," had me laughing out loud. I cant wait for your next reaction.
Wonderful reaction! Akaya mentioned a conversation where Armand said something like, "We can get him to remember what happened." I think that's a reference to Ep 1 when they were in bed and Armand said that together they could bring back "the boy who fumbled over his tape recording device...He's in there somewhere." He wasn't talking about granting Daniel the gift of recovered memory. He was proposing they be a united front to stop Daniel from dominating the interview since Louis refuses to send him away. They wanted him reduced to saying dumb, Young Daniel shit like, "...what happened next?" or "...and then what?" Their goal is the same but their motives differ. Armand hates that Louis still finds Daniel fascinating, and wants to humble him as much as he wants to raise and drop him again. He also doesn't want Louis to remember 1973 when he was left on a bed for 4-5 nights instead of the dark comfort of his coffin. When he was tortured with Lestat's words out of Armand's mouth to punish both Louis and his maker for "Lestat-Lestat-Lestat". When Louis was denied Armand's ancient blood all those nights which, when finally given, powered him to get up and stagger out minutes later to save Daniel. It finally makes sense why Fake Rashid insisted on slinking around Louis' interview all Season 1. He was protecting himself. How many mind fucks in 77 years? Louis will never know. On the other hand, Louis' motive for wanting a united interview front against Daniel is simple. He can never control the emotional storms Daniel brings out in him, either in '73 or now. Hence, Armand joins the interview to toughen him up and rein him in and it works. If you've read all my blather, here's a fun fact: Daniel had no name in the 1970s IWTV book. He was, "The Boy".
I just messaged Akaya and said, "WE GOT SUCH A GOOD EXPLANATION FOR YOUR QUESTION." So thank you for this. Also, I didn't even realize that they had answered my question in this episode that Armand could have helped because, as you mentioned, it was after he had his blood that he was able to get up and walk out there. UGH, this show is so good!!!
@@birdcallsreaction A pleasure, Resha! Yep, Louis was up and about not long after he'd just been screaming, "I can't get up! Put me in my coffin...Please!" Armand's blood earlier would've lessened the pain and helped the burns heal faster, too. The blood is why, when Armand finally gave it, his "Rest" compulsion didn't lull Louis into total submission like it was doing to Daniel in the next room. Armand just needed Louis to suffer. Fantastic writing!💖
26:26 “And where THE FUCK is Claudia?” I swear when me and my sister watched this, we were wondering the exact same thing, like- that’s my baby, don’t touch ha!
The ultimate "hurt people hurt people" episode Of note: In season 1, Daniel was surprised to learn that Louis HAD a daughter. He said he didn't mention her during the orig interview, and Louis said that he wasn't ready to talk about her then. This episode it's clear that Louis talk about Claudia. THIS! I have to see if it makes the edit, but I think I referenced this quote after we watched episode 7 because that was the first thing I thought about. This episode made it clear something had happened, but I won't lie, I was holding out hope at this point.
Everything about the dynamics of the 2nd interview is new. Also it kind of retcons the source material being wrong and pitches it as the inaccuracies of two drug addicts doing a terrible job. The layers they weave into and out of the source material is done with such respect and imagination. I don't understand how anyone can complain who has actually watched the show. Even the purists who just want a word for word adaptation. There is that too. Sections of s1 s2 and the s3 teaser are literally word for word. As someone who knew what was coming i was not prepared for the emotional and shocking gut punches that come with it. Then bring blindsided by all the new stuff. Man this truly knocked it out of the park. This will be taught in film schools about how to do a book adaptation and create something more.
This is one of the first times I haven't read the book before I watched an adaptation, so I am so used to people navigating disappointment with what's on screen. I would say 9/10 conversations that I've had with readers in this case have been that they LOVE the show. It's so exciting to see people saying that this leveled the book up because you don't feel like you're getting the normal "just enough to tell the story" that can come with watching a movie/show adaptation.
Watching S2E5 reactions are my drug of choice 😁 Armand is such a fantastic character and Assad is an absolute MASTER at bringing him to life. I find it hilarious how Resha can't contain her utter contempt for him - it is so warranted! He is THE WORST!!! (at least for now 👀) I also like them including a truly loathsome thing Daniel had done to help reinforce the idea that literally no one in this show is a Good Person. We can root for whoever we want but they won't let us pretend they're saints... which is just realistic, haven't we all done *something* we're too ashamed to admit to anyone? I'd like to point out a couple of cool things about this ep: this was the first one filmed of the season, so this was Assad's first real time acting as Armand and him & Jacob finding their footing together - and whoa did they blow it out of the park! Also, Sam was in the room with Jacob and Assad doing his lines for the coffin scene, which I so wish I could have been a fly on the wall for. I think I say this every week, but the actors on this show are lightning in a bottle. I can't believe that was the first time Assad was acting as Armand, and it has truly become an iconic scene for the show!
@birdcallsreaction forgive me if I've said it before, but I hope you'll react to some interviews or behind the scenes (the season 3 teaser is a MUST). All the actors are such funny and sweet cinnamon rolls and it would be great to watch them as themselves along with you 😊
I reacted to Armand exactly like Resha the first time I watched S2 until episode 5. Crazy unhinged Armand changed me😅, I'm obsessed with him. I feel bad for everyone this episode. Poor Armand for thinking he can't find someone to love him and just him and for having to clean up Louis' mess. Danny boy didn't deserve to be tortured by Armand, he just wanted some snow and to get laid. That scene when he realises it was Louis who gave him his lifeline always makes me cry. My baby Louis, seeing him go jnto the sun breaks my heart. I lose it every time when he says " do you hear her? She's calling me?", Its so heartbreaking. What he said about Armand's past was insane, good thing Armand had his own rebuttal practised😅. I'd walk into the sun if my partner told me 10 hours with some random dude were more fascinating than decades with me, that was crazy. Armand was very cruel for calling Lestat and basically leaving him with unanswered questions about Louis' well-being. This is my favourite episode. It had me laughing at the beginning and crying by the end. Seeing all these characters that I love hurt each other was a lot.😮
No, I can say a lot of things about Armand, but he ate Louis up with that response, accent included! This episode reminds me of Sleeping Beauty. When Beauty was born, an evil fairy crashed her christening and cursed the baby to prick her finger on a spinning wheel and fall down dead at age 16. Good fairies after the fact tried to blunt the power of the curse by saying Beauty would suffer her destiny in the freak sewing accident, but instead of death she would only fall into a coma. In this episode, Armand laid out young Daniel's ("Beauty" lol) shitty future family relationships and office job failures and his sad, dreary middle-aged death at a stoplight -- a curse! Louis came after the fact and fixed what he could. Daniel would suffer his destiny in relationships, but Louis gifted him a boffo career that kept him alive. Kinda makes me want to go read Anne Rice's Sleeping Beauty books.
Nah, girl (Resha?) I beg to differ. I think Jacob's hair may be slightly thinner than your texture. I don't know if it's the hair stylist on the show or what but his 'fro wasn't it. I would imagine they could only do so much with his hair and still be able to keep is so that he could be filmed in the various time jumps logistically. It looks like maybe they blow dried it but not too straight. The straightened bush might be what they were going for.
😂 Good lookin' out. I do have more hair and a much more coarse hair pattern. So true that if they were shooting different times it would have been hard to have him grow it out more than that!
Such a fun question, and I hope more people answer! In my mind, yes, because I'm telling myself that he'd want Lestat to feel forgotten and irrelevant, and if he was contacting him, it would be obvious that he was still a part of their relationship. Which is also interesting because regardless of if he was contacting Lestat, he is the one who told Louis that they had a string attaching them, so he knew he'd always be there.
I love Armand. He has so many facets, he's a very interesting character, I don't find him boring at all. People empathize too much with Louis and Claudia but they don't empathize with Armand. In this story there are no good guys or bad guys, everyone is screwed in one way or another.
Armand is the ultimate gas lighter making Louis forget and wanting to kill Daniel cause Louis found him more interesting than him was to petty and makes what happens next 🤐smh
Season 1, episode 2, the morning after Louis was created, he ran outside and burned. Just want to point out Lestat wasted no time putting Louis into his coffin. That's love and Armand is trash for making Louis beg (for many hours) to be put in the coffin this time. 😊
I feel no sympathy for Armand. I feel some sadness for Louis's torment because of what comes next. I feel this is his way of punishing himself, Lestat and Armand
I think I'm an active member of the Armand Hater Club (I don't go to meetings, but my behavior got me admitted), but there are a couple of scenes where I'm like, "Sheesh, sir, please, walk away from this!" It's been a bit since we filmed it, but there's a scene in the finale where I'm like, "Alright, this is sad...". I am rolling around the idea that this may be him punishing himself though... that's very interesting.
The two of you are good examples of different reactions to Armand. He's tired of cleaning up his mess vs he's an asshole lol. It's brilliant.
One note, they don't say they want Daniel to remember- Armand says they can bring their boy back. The kid who just says what happened next. So they (specifically Armand) don't have to deal with a older, wiser and far more analytical Daniel.

how do you guys upload these. UA-cam gives me such a hard time trying to post my reactions
Don't they give the hardest time?! It's a lot of trial and error.
@ ugh, it’s the most annoying thing in the world
Armand is the ultimate gas lighter making Louis forget and wanting to kill Daniel cause Louis found him more interesting than him was to petty and makes what happens next 🤐smh
Imagine showing up to a "Best Gas Lighter" competition and Armand is standing there? He's UNMATCHED.
Season 1, episode 2, the morning after Louis was created, he ran outside and burned. Just want to point out Lestat wasted no time putting Louis into his coffin. That's love and Armand is trash for making Louis beg (for many hours) to be put in the coffin this time. 😊
😂😂😂 Lestat's attorneys are always clocked in, and I love that y'all make me laugh! You are correct, Lestat wins that round.
@birdcallsreaction 🫡😆
I feel the same about armand glad I'm not alone
Exactly, fuck Armand. His past is awful but goodness me.
I think Armand is fascinating. Nice, no. Lol, no. But boring, nah.
