FYI also about eraser pens, really cool to use on fabric when you sew (to mark pattern) or draw on it (to mark an outline), because it disappears when you iron it.
That "booger" eraser is called a crape (like the sole on desert boots), it's mostly for erasing contact cement and it's usually found in leather shops. BTW, thanks for the inspiration. You taught me bookbinding and for that I'm forever indebted to you. Cheers from Iran 🤘🤘🤘
Okay. So the booger eraser. I actually have used it to erase glue off of my skin. I use KT tape for plantar fasciitis and it likes to leave adhesive on me. I can’t ever get it all off. So I got one of these in a yard sale. And it worked so much better than anything else! I had to be slow and gentle obviously. But it almost all came off. Super thrilled.
to get the goo from medical tape off your body, try something oil based- I like to use coconut oil. It smells nice and its much less abrasive on your skin.
I love my gellyroll pens. I use them when I write my handwritten drafts for my novel. I love colour coding my writing and they come out so smooth. I used erasable pens for a little bit. Lost all the writing in my planner notebook and the pens as just by leaving my handbag in the car for a few minutes while unpacking my groceries. Some of it is readable after putting the notebook in the freezer but not all.
I 100% agree that binding guide is awesome! Before I saw your video review of it I had bought it when I saw it online. I thought this might work for when I'm book binding on the go. It quickly became apart of my go to set.
Those friction pens are cool but I ended up using them in a project ages ago as I was just putting a little description of what I had done on each page not knowing it was HEAT sensitive I carried on with the other pages using my heat gun to dry them and aaah yeah most if not all of what I had written was gone! Bit annoying but I got it after that and now am reluctant to use these pens. 🥴😆🙄
I keep seeing that binding guide at Michael’s and I debate getting it every single time 😅 Also, I love your videos! I remember watching your first few videos not long after they came out and being so inspired to try bookbinding
was working on a coptic stitch notebook while watching this. Definitely want a nice cradle for hole punching. I did get a brayer and find it soo nice for smoothing glued paper.
"Naturally, because it's synthetic" :D :D :D Basic, but my mom got me some mildliners for Christmas last year, and I've gotten a lot more use out of them than I expected.
I LOVE my glue eraser. It takes craft glue off paper so I don’t have shiny bloopers on the pretty things I make. So, maybe it’s a blooper eraser. Found one at the dollar store for a buck.
I really enjoyed this! Especially the pens and thank-you notes part. It made me really, really want to make some cards. Might as well make them Christmas themed. Thank you for uploading and boosting my urge to create!!!
My most used bookbinding thing this year is also that we are memory keepers guide you have. After watching you use it I decided to go buy it and have made four books in the last two weeks using it. I'm currently experimenting using cross stitch binding with a fabric spine. I really love the look of exposed stitches along the spine but I really don't love the look of the folded paper. Side note what are you using for colorful backgrounds then?
I don't, but the process is similar to how I digitize sticker art in this video: ua-cam.com/video/jH7AofMfJ3w/v-deo.html Sometimes I recreate the art in Procreate on my iPad.
@@SeaLemonDIY thanks a lot. I was hoping there'd be a good way without having a tablet/iPad and such. ^^ I guess I'll be better off finally getting into digital art at some point
Careful with those erasable pens. They are not lightfast, the colour disappears after just a short period of time, especially if you leave the paper it is written on out in the open. I wrote a tutorial for myself that I put next to my desk. After just two months it is hardly readable any more, the ink faded so rapidly. So if you want to write notes that last, used something else.
Do you have any advice on how to store large papers? I've been really struggling on how to organize all my papers without damaging them. Anything is welcome. Thank you!
My method is finding the flattest surface where they won't get damaged or curl over. So I sandwich them in between a shelf and the wall in my closet. Containers that go underneath a bed work too.
@@SeaLemonDIY Oooh thank you so much! I`ve always bee afraid of putting them in vertical but that seems like a really good idea. Thank you Jennifer! ^^ BTW love your channel, I follow you since 2014 and you really got me into book binding. Love your content, hope you and your family are doing well
FYI with erasable pens. Heat is what makes the ink go away. So dont store anything written in that ink in a place that will get real warm. Left a notepad in my car, and all the ink inside was gone.
Never used them but I heard you can make it visible again by putting it in the freezer. Don't know if that's true, or just that it comes back enough to not be invisible but also not really legible.
@@alexreith4877 yes, it works. Happened to my math notes and I stuck them in the freezer. The ink did re appear but it was a bit faded but still readable. I just went over it again with regular ink before it faded more
I have all but the sheets that u painted on. You bought it to film on and didn't wodk.? I've never heard of it but will check it out. Love Society6. Will check your design out.
I just love your art work and it is just so helpful for me. I have even tried many of your patterns and they turned out better than I had thought they would. I just love watching your videos😍😊😀 Can u pls tell me what company is your paper cutter is 😊😊
First of all, I love your videos! SO fun to watch and learn from! Secondly, YOUR DOG! OMG! I had a dog that looked like a carbon copy of yours! What kind of a dog is he/she? Mine was a mix from Tennessee. Where do you live? Maybe they are related!!!
Thanks! She's an Australian Kelpie rescued in Safford Arizona. They're usually working dogs on cattle farms, and I wonder if that's where she came from in that area. Search black and tan kelpies, they all look so similar 😄
@@SeaLemonDIYThanks so much for the fast reply! Mine was a rescued dog too! I looked up pictures of kelpies and they really look like my dog! We always tried to figure out what kind of a dog he was, so thanks for helping us out!!! We think he was a basenji, husky, German shepherd, and Rottweiler mix. And now an Australian kelpie, too! 😍😁❤
Yayy...i am early. Love u jennifer😍...can u tell me if my novel is toen which method should i use to sew it back...plz heart my comment and reply and my novel is getting more and more damaged...Thank you soo much😊

I have always called the glue stuff on mailers boogers so it makes sense...
You are killing me with these vídeos, missy! Well, you kill my savings account. I love paper and pens too. Your work is awesome! 😍

I LOVE Gelly Rolls. Used them a lot in HS then forgot about them. LOVE the Stardust ones, but I wish they had thicker ones, like .10 or .08

I am so glad you are still here on youtube. I bind all my own art journals... I don't know what I would do without you!!
Great video! I love Frixion pens!! I wasn’t aware of your tip to give the paper a little time to readjust between erasing and rewriting, so Thanks!
I love the linen bookbinding thread from UberArt on Etsy.
0:01 CUTEST DOGGY IN THE WORLD!!!!!
I use the muji erasable pens, i find them to last longer and have less ”ghosting” after they are erased (compared to the black frixion i’ve tried).
I LOVE my glue eraser. It takes craft glue off paper so I don’t have shiny bloopers on the pretty things I make. So, maybe it’s a blooper eraser. Found one at the dollar store for a buck.
your booger eraser is great for getting masking fluid off
that too!

Currently I use larger sheets of "railroad board", some poster board and my desk :)
The Gelly rollers is childhood favourite of mine, there is better pens out there, but the Stardust and moonlight gelly rollers is so inspiring.
I use to use to Frixtion pens in high school.. it was a life saver
i was wondering if you have a video on how you make your painted pattern and art and turn it digital? Just a regular scanner?

Thank you for the video. I love this type of relationship stories with supplies 😊 As for the brayer, it's better to choose a heavy one or a light one?
Love these types of videos. Love your work.
Oh I never knew there were glue erasers, I've just been using a normal eraser. Gonna check that out! :)
Dollar store has the bugger eraser.
This was an excellent video lol! Thank you for the amazing recommendations!
There is a weird pixilation or effect in the video 4:29 minutes in. It lasted a few frames. Did anyone else see it or was it just me?
Thanks for the tips! ❤️
I have that eraser and LOVE it!
you're hair looks really pretty!
Geeking out indeed!

Dang, that makes sense. Since erasing it causes some heat.
did it come back when the notepad was cooled?

Frixion Pens ink totally Disappears after 3 years in a room as well. If you want your writing to be kept, use other possibilities.
I wish I could buy half the things I see you use 😔
Most of them are not available in my country... 🤦🏾
