  • Confederate Gen. John Bell Hood began his Tennessee Campaign with lofty, if not impossible, aspirations: if he could take Nashville, - the base of Union operations in the West, he could prolong the war and force Union Maj. Gen. William T. Sherman’s recall from Georgia. Kristopher White of the American Battlefield Trust details the beginning of the Battle of Nashville from a small, but important preserved part of the battlefield. #NashvilleBattlefieldTour

The American Battlefield Trust preserves America’s hallowed battlegrounds and educates the public about what happened there and why it matters. We permanently protect these battlefields for future generations as a lasting and tangible memorial to the brave soldiers who fought in the American Revolution, the War of 1812, and the Civil War.

Good impersonation of Daniels as Chamberlain. As a Mainer, I can assure you that Daniels studied his Maine accent by sticking his fingers in his years and repeatedly screaming "I can't hear you!" whenever he encountered someone from Maine.

@@M80Ball If you have every been to SA, the city built up to the Alamo. They even sold pieces of the wall at one time. All that is left is the long barracks and I am not sur what the place were the gift shop was. Point is only about a 1/3 is left

I appreciate what you guys are doing but don't you think it would be better to present each video in a bit more serious manner since many men desperately fought and died and being permanently maimed right there leaving their state and families destitute for decades. I hope you will have another James Earl Jones type production one day.

Nah, this spot, Redoubt #1, is located on the Confederate left flank on the first day. (Not the extreme flank, but in that sector)
She's Hill is further south and was the scene of fighting the next day.
