Yeah, those original kit instructions were horrible; I vastly improved the instructions now and the pictures are in color with better contrast. I *really* appreciate your video because we're trying to make a kit specifically for 2nd-gen and this is a big help! Thanks from Lextreme
Super helpful video! I just did it on my LS400 because of a cracked EGR pipe causing a rattle. I’m now getting code “P0401 Insufficient EGR flow”. I don’t mind the check engine light, runs so smooth now it puts brand new cars to shame.

I appreciate the effort you did to make this vedio happen, fixing , filming and editing, it's not easy thing , I really know what's that mean . I have advice to you , and its very important, some times when i start my car ( when its cold ) a punch of white smoke comes like from 20 to 30 seconds, then disappear, not just only this , also I realize the feul consumption is very very bad . I changed so many things , but the problem still there 😢. Finally I discovered that the power steering upper air valve is broken, you can find it directly under the fluid filler ( rezevur) . Also the hose come out from the valve it self going to the air intake was have air leaking ( same spot you mentioned its broken , its very easy to broke. Great info.... Thanks for sharing... Question for you is My SC400 when I first start is not doing what the normal high idle in the beginning of the day ..do I need to chance the cold injector valve ?
I did end up with a permanent “incorrect purge flow” code. Probably due to my charcoal canister and vacuum valves all “falling out” of the car during this. Other than that, no codes and no issues that I have seen from these mods.
I bought it off of eBay. Listing title is: “Lexus (SC400 or LS400) 1UZFE EGR Delete Kit” It’s basically the same kit that used to sell on lextreme, in fact the instructions look identical to what you find in the old “how to” on the Lextreme website.

Hi, I currently have a similar SC 400 (1992), and my Coolant Reservoir is leaking at the Low Coolant Sensor...I watched your video, and found out that your tank does not have this sensor, but it has a cover on top of it....is this an original resevoir tank ? or you modified to bypass that Sensor ? please let me know. Thanks.
Might be something they changed for the engine modification for the 96 model year. Mine did not have any sensors on the stock reservoir, and it was not modified until I removed it from the car for a different setup.
@@elementalcivik , I tried to look for the reservoir without the sensors same as the one installed in your car, but I can not find this one ... For me really, just simplifying and cleaning up the engine bay. The more space and ease of working on it, the better. That rear pipe on these is a known failure point and repairing the system gets expensive in a hurry. So basically just avoiding future repair bills and ditching the whole system.
Removing the front VCV doesn’t throw any codes? Just leave it unplugged? And did you need to use the small vacuum line that was with the kit? And what did you use to block off the back EGR pipe?
If I recall from back when I did it, I used vacuum line to basically bypass some of the components that were removed. Basically connecting vacuum straight over to other components without the VSV’s or anything in between them.
@@diszruptiveent3634 Stock ECU should be able to compensate for any airflow differences. Other than a purge flow code, it hasn’t caused any issues with the computers.
