Jacob, thank you for this behind the scenes walkthrough! Your videos always have this chill, ethereal quality so it was awesome to see how the 'magic' was made. You made it look so simple, but I think it's clear the many years of dedication and trial and error that go into producing such high quality videos. Love this series, and hope you continue with it!
Hej jacob! UP THE GOOD WORK JACOB!❤❤😊
I follow your first Channel for a long time, and it's really really nice to share your production's process on this new channel. With a very clear and simple way, without pretention. Thank's a lot for this.👍😀
Jacob. Thank you for the information about the piano that you are playing. I see you play piano smoothly and very beautiful. It seems that It doesn't feel pain on your wrist and finger joint (knuckle). Could you please share tips on how you practice your finger position in your up coming video? I am sure you will help so many people improve their skills on playing piano. Again thank you very much Jacob. Warm Regards.
Thank you Rusdi, Inspired by your comment, I just sat down and wrote a full script for such a video. I think it's a very good idea! I don't know when it will come out, because I have many videos in the pipeline, but I'm pretty sure it will be there at some point :D Cheers, Jacob
Jacob. Thank you for sharing your full production process. I appreciate so much since I discovered your channel. It's really amazing and unique, beautiful arrangement and beautifully played. I hope you will continue doing this amazing job. I love this high quality videos. Anyway, I am planning to buy a keyboard/piano. What keyboard/piano are you playing? (Brand and series). The sound is brilliant and clear. Thanks a lot for this 👍🏼😊
I love your work, I´ve followed you for years and it´s always a joy to watch your music! I want to learn how to record as you do but I don´t know if my piano is too old or something because it creates a lot of lag while it´s hooked up to the computer making it impossible to play. :(
I just finished watching the video and I love it! Can´t wait to get home from work and try some stuff! What program do you use to edit everything? And is it a different program you use to making the piano sounds? Or how do you say it, record it?
Hi Eak! Thanks for reaching out :) I use Logic or Cubase to record my music using MIDI. I suggest you take a look at my course here: jacobspiano.com/course/jacobs-piano-production-course/ You need to figure out if your old keyboard supports MIDI. If it does, then you can follow my course and record sounds like me using that keyboard :) The first step for you is to see if it has MIDI input/output on the back of the keyboard. If not, then check if there's a USB port. If not, then your keyboard likely doesn't support MIDI :(
Jacob, I'd be interested more in how you developed the light hand touch you have on the piano. It feels as if you don't even use arm weight. I'd love know more about that. I am a film artist...so I am not here for the production bits haha.
I also consider that "touch" my most important skill on the piano :) Unfortunately, there's not really much to say about how I have achieved this. It has come natural to me to play this way. I think playing the right type of music is important - for instance, music from Ludovico Einaudi allows you to put a lot of "feeling" into your performance but if you play something more rhythmic I think you naturally develop a harder touch :)
Great and useful video! What program do you use to edit yoyr videos? and where did you learn all this? i mean all blurring effects, transition and editing at all? Have you learnt it from somewhere or it's just your own experience which you got via working with piano?
It's almost completely through own experience over the years working with the Jacob's Piano project. I do ocassionally use online courses to expand my knowledge on certain areas 😊

Great video and setup
Hi Jacob! thank you for this video, could you please tell me which camera and function you use for recording?
Thank you!
I use a Sony A7sIII (A7s3). Just set to manually. Iso 640, aperture 2.8, and shutter 1/60.

I'm playing the Roland RD-800 but I produce with software instruments as you see in the video at 03:14 :)

@@JacobsPianoVlogs your “touch” is very evident on your Chopin op9 nr1. My fav cover in UA-cam. You manage to keep natural curvature throughout.
