Thanks buddy, glad you got to enjoy my R for a bit. 👍 I spent a lot of time making her pretty, but ripping with your buds and sharing the experience is what it’s all about. 😁🤘
Honda needs to get back into the sport quad game. Would be nice if they brought back the 250R 2 smoker. That and the TRX400EX. I have an '07 400EX. Love it!
These were the most comfortable bikes I ever road . They do ride very light it was very noticeable esp on trails . I love that healthy Honda 250R sound.
I wonder if there was ever a serious rider of dirtbikes and quads that didn't have at least 1 or 2 machines in the past they wish they still owned? Usually that machine became rare all of a sudden ,overly expensive at the same time! I miss many machines I have let go. In the late 90s I had a mint 86 atc 350x bought in pcs for 900 bucks. Sold it for 1500 after many years of fun. I see lesser bikes now selling for 3500 if you can get one. Another one and one that hurts as bad is every cr500 I have owned. Mine were beautifull machines! After the second to last one sold to some dip shit cart racer to strip apart for its engine I couldnt hardly believe what I had done. Then I couldn't find them all of a sudden for a normal price.
That thing is super clean very nice 250R! I've never ridden a fourtrax 250r. The first I learned how to ride clutch on was an '86 ATC 250R my cousin had.
@@BrewerOffroad Hahaha.. For real. I love my 87 (the bike sitting directly next to Shaun's) and have just as much time in mine, but the OEMs are absolutely the stand out feature on his. I was trying to restore my OEMs, but it was insanely hard.
Inarguably the best race quad in history. Honda set the bar for standards in race quad technology and nobody has ever been able to beat this design. Only copy it or make little tweaks for minimal improvements in durability. Right now ESR and LED are making top end kits and big bore kits that are truly amazing. Last weekend I rode a 1986ATC250R with a LED 265 national moto top end, with their big bore pipe, intake and recommended carb mods. It was amazing. It was so awesome and I’ve ridden many modified stock motors. The LED cylinder allows porting that couldn’t be possible with a stock cylinder. My friend also has the LED 370ceo kit. And that…was…sooooo violent and so powerful I couldn’t believe it. If I’m not mistaken he’s carrying 3 teeth more on the front sprocket with that top end. And it pulls hard in every gear, and breaks loose on anything including pavement lol wow. And right now we’re building a ESR 363 stroker for the TRX. Can’t wait
I had a 1986 trx 200 sx. I paid 2000 bucks for it at Boca Raton honda when they first came out. I wanted a 3 wheeler but changed my mind when I saw it. After 2 mos. Of riding clutch started slipping. Put a barnett clutch in and it ripped. Then a supertrapp pipe upped the jet to a lot 110. It was awesome........then doing jumps broke my leg. End of fun sold it but still miss it but would like a 2 stroke.
@@rapidtransit8373 oh man, that sucks you broke your leg! But I get it, I don’t know how I made it past those times unscathed, because I actually started catching some crazy air with mine too... I probably wouldn’t be as crazy on one these days as I use to be...
Ah, the 250Rs. We used to beat the CRAP out those back in high school, and damn thing would still run. Honda really made strong engines on their elder ATC and ATVs. These things are stupid amounts of fun. The only problem these days is OEM parts are hard to find. But other than that, BRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP!
Yes. It. Is!!! I have an ‘87 frame that I need to build, but DAMN it’s expensive. I’m about to just save my pennies and buy one outright so I can ride. I’m impatient, and trying to spend $30k to build one when I don’t even have engine cases is going to take a WHILE... 🤷🏼♂️
No no haha I WISH! This is a build by Shaun McKee. He built it as if they were to build one in 2021 with all the upgraded technology we have these days.
Let me know if you ever want to ride in Tennessee. I’m in Clarksville TN and we have Turkey Bay which is like 2,500 acres and Wild Donkey which is like 1,000 acres. Both parks are within an hour from my house.
@@SkitzoFPV true, I hear ya. probably because they still had handle bars, I don't know for sure, or maybe we were just to embarrassed to admit we were on quads, LOL
It's so dangerous with just straight foot pigs. If your foot slips off it goes underneath the back tire and you do the splits and it can hurt you really bad.
I agree I prefer atleast heel guards if not nerf bars as well. However, this is not my build I just had the privilege of riding it. I will say the footpegs are super large and aggressive compared to any others I've seen!
Totally different riding styles. You don't counter steer a quad like a dirtbike. At full turn on a quad a thumb throttle is more practical and ergonomic.
In long whoops sections on a quad you wrist would lock and your get stuck whiskey throttle with a twist. On a bike you standing up above ND that font happen.
