You guys are fascinating. I'm marketing graduate that has made a career switch to Nursing because I was looking for something fulfilling in terms of a professional career, but I swear, if life ever brings me back to the marketing field, I'd try to join a company such as yours.

Don't be fooled. They are indeed great at marketing and make beautiful inspiring videos, however the reality is that their financials are really terrible, have been around since 2015 and have zero products to market. In other words, smoke and mirrors, heading straight to bankruptcy.
One small advice for the ride hailing car: wireless charging.
Wtf is arrival doing? Thought it was the prototype they’re dropping today?!!!! The delay better be for just waiting for appropriate timing- this video hasn’t showed us anything new we didn’t know about. Spend time building not making videos pls

There is an arrival factory in the US already that's being made ready - in Charlotte N.C.
I applaud that you are creating a bespoke "Car share" vehicle, but partnering with Uber is partnering with the devil. They want to get rid of their drivers as soon as possible. They'll use your platform to push Autonomous Vehicles as the vehicles of choice for their service. No drivers, and they get all the money. Partner with Lyft and other car share services and don't deal with Uber.
That doesn't sound bad, not having to deal with weird drivers or pay enough so that someone can eat makes traveling expensive. NOBODY owning a car and just owning a subscription to self-driving cars is the future. Self driving cars will still need to take themselves to locations to be charged, cleaned, inspected, etc. where someone can work if you need a job, but without fuel costs, car insurance, car payment... everyone in the western world will have more money in their pockets if they aren't too having to pay >$2-3/mi to get places.
Not to be a party pooper but if you want an amazing but also very economical car get a Tesla Model 3 SR, you start saving money after 5k miles

There's no way on earth the arrival can build a car cheaper than the legacy makers. And with there micro factories, there's no way to build economy of scale. They should stick to vans and buses.
Why is there no way?
Doesn't have to be cheaper. Average taxi might do 40,000miles a year and prices in the UK are around £6/gallon (US$8/gallon).
You would save a few thousand every year on fuel, even more if you're swapping away from a diesel taxi that would be charged for every day it drove into a Low Emission Zone (up to £12.50/day).
Add in the fact that it will need less maintenance and spends less time off the road being serviced and allows you to charge premium fares for "being cool" and you could easily save £5,000/year.
The question isn't in regards to total cost of ownership. The question I have is will Arrivals product be cheaper to purchase than those manufactured by VW, Skoda or MG. These models are already available in the UK. Actually there is a Chinese manufacturer that is already building a car for the Didi ride hailing service. I just doubt that Arrival will be able to complete on price.
they will compete on price IF they launch it in 2025 when battery prices drop by another 30-40% by then, lol
They aren't completing necessarily with large makers, they competing with companies like LEVC, who produces less than 10,000 vehicles a year, an there vehicle cost 60k.

You guys should reach out to James May and see if he would be willing to explore your products. He is a geek for tech and vehicles.
Look at the Fully Charged Show channel. They have been following Arrival for at least a couple of years, and have had a chance to talk to some of the test drivers from UPS who already have some of the vans in service, and to bus drivers who have tried out the bus. There are a few early production buses in service already. Their secret is that the micro-factory concept means no production line! They can be very agile.

When can we see technology and cars? The video should give shareholders a process to give them trust. However, this video does not appeal to the Arrival company introduction.

would it make sense to do 3 full size seats in the back? cos your man sitting there alone looked quite cramped already. Think this should be opp for using the full width of what is possible in terms of space, I know they call it a car, but is UBER really mostly carrying 1-2 passengers? would be interesting to know more on these stats. Also I hope it will have safety shell between pass and driver and self open/close doors for not only touchless operation but also safety of moto/cyclists.
LEVC already makes a purpose built taxi that is comfortable for four passengers easily. Arrival is just attempting to reinvent the wheel.
I think getting 5 passengers in (once there is no driver) is more important... sure they could change the form factor when they get to that, but 2 adult sized comfortable seats up front and 3 for children or cramming in a large party is probably most functional for this size car. Now once you can make a small van size maybe without a hood or much trunk space you can fit 6 in roomy seats or 9 in a cramped configuration and maybe we'll opt for 9 if the carpooling AI is very efficient and makes the ride cost almost nothing.
@@havek23 sounds like 20 years from now. Tesla and others been at this for more than 10 years with real world data and testing and we are still at glorified cruise control, tss
@@JoeDobias Being 5 years away has become kinda a joke but I think we're actually there if you can eliminate all human-steered cars from the road. So in some countries they'll make dedicated lanes or roads that only autonomous cars can go on and if you have a short wave communication layer where the cars from different makes can coordinate their acceleration/deceleration then you could have swarms of fast moving cars with no traffic and no accidents! It's just where human meets machine you're gonna have trouble with for another decade or two (unless we outlaw humans driving)
A 4 seater would not qualify for many types of Uber rides. No shot they do that. You clearly are not a driver.
And Uber does have carpooling options, even if they are scaled back right now due to the pandemic.

Arrival still hasn’t developed a fleet of working cars. I’m excited for their future but until they actual make products en Maße, its just a dream. Also, Uber is the worst transportation company; they will get rid of any partner they can if they can make more money. They don’t care about environmental stuff; they just care about $$. Oops, I meant ££.

The opportunuity is to replace the current taxis/ride hailing cars however that will take a lot of time and the car needs to make sense.
