- Hi guys welcome back to my channel and today in this video i will give a tutorial on how to clean ur bike chain and lube it. I will tell the right way to do it at home without any mechanic at a reasonable cost.

Guys never clean the chain while engine is running,,, don't take risk, you will loss your fingers..

Last time I was cleaning my bike chain with a toothbrush while the engine was running for easier cleaning and the toothbrush got sucked in into sprockets and it was crushed,
I thank God that my fingers were not part of that

I'd say Use an old soft toothbrush with kerosene and then use Castrol scooter gear oil(coz it comes in a tube like pack with a long hose which helps to keep your hand away from chain) Rs-75 only and can be used for at least 4-5 chain cleaning cycle. Don't use old engine oil it may end up damaging your chain coz sometimes they contain metal shards of engine

Petrol sirf 100 ya 110 cc wali bikes ki chain mein use ho skta hai but 150 ya uske upar wali bike ki chain mein 0 rigns hote hai to usme prob krega .. but lubrication ke liye main purani pulsar mein kapde wali machine ka oil use kr leta tha .. acha kaam krta tha wo bhi

While cleaning the two wheeler chain don't put vehicle in gear it's very risky.. You may get hurt
All other things apart, never ever do anything to a chain/sprocket with engine on. There are easier and less painful ways to reduce the number of god given fingers on your hands.

I am using Gear 90 oil for past 1 year for royal enfield.. it will enhance chain sproket life..1 litre of Gear oil will cost you around 250 to 280 rs... 30ml is more than sufficient to lube the chain which brings to a cost less than 10 rs for lubing.. comming to cleaning you can do it with 80ml kerosene or diesel which will cost you 10 rs or less.. so overall cost will come down to 20 rs per use which is done at 500km intervals.. this is pretty cheap... if you use motul lube and cleaner it will cost you close to 100 rs per use... Also the excess 90 gear oil will drip out easily which is safe for the chain unlike motul..

Don't use diesel, i accidentally sprayed near rear break mechanism and break shoes got damaged.
You should have kept other parts hidden with paper or cardboard diesel is best for cleaning chain
Dont ever try to clean chain with bike engine on...... i hav bad experience with loss one finger...... so dont ever think...u can clean chain by putting bike switch off also

He is not technically sound. Saying many nonsense things. And NEVER EVER LUBE THE CHAIN WHILE ENGINE IS RUNNING. It's for personal saftey. Stupidity that he is doing it with the engine alive. Chain lubing is not that big deal. Find a better and more informative video than this.

Moped gear oil (90 gear oil) is good for chain lubrication... Even un-used ... New engine oil(any grade) is good for chain lubrication ... The last option WD-40 is also a good option ... You are welcome! And do clean your chain with kerosene ... Not diesel or petrol! Only kerosene!!!

Don't use water or soap to clean a chain. It will damage soon. Wd 40 or diesel is best even though they're little costly
Never wash your bike chain by putting bike in 1st gear, it can accidently put your finger between chain and chain socket and it may leads to amputation of your fingrt. Rather put bike in neutral only and manually rotate rear wheel to clean all chain... Little bit more time consuming but better than to lose your your fingers.

First use an old toothbrush to give it a rough and quick brush & then use normal water to clean the chain thoroughly.
Wait for 10 mins
Use a cotton cloth to again soak the excess water and then use a chain cleanser on your chain properly. Again wait for 15 mins and then use your brush to clean the chain thoroughly again in case of some extra dirt and debris. You can now finish the cleaning process with a cotton cloth.
Wait for 15 mins max
Now comes the most quick and satisfying & rewarding part of the process. Simply use a chain lubricant on the chain, Use a cotton cloth or a piece of cardboard behind the chain so it doesn't spread on the alloys or Sprocket much.
Wait for 15 mins and then you're good to go.
