Our family Laptop has had a number of bad keys for years. I thought it would be hard and would need to send to a tech group to fix. After watching this and finding the replacement keyboards on line it is VERY inexpensive AND very EASY to switch out. Thanks for 'messing up' a couple times because it tells us to WATCH OUT for on a couple key issues. Good Job. Norman...........
Thanks a million for making this video! Saved me a bundle on a new laptop! And thanks for not editing out the bits where you made a couple of mistakes, as that really helps to be aware of as well. Nice to know what can go wrong and how to correct. Really appreciate you adding this specific model. This was my first attempt at getting into the guts of a laptop. I was really nervous about botching it but you made it seem very doable, and it worked! Can't thank you enough!
Thanks Astro! You saved me the time and embarrassment of going the "obviously I have to take the whole damn thing apart to replace the keyboard" route.
Thanks for the informative video OP. You sure helped me replacing my inlaws keyboard. Issues was sticky keys. Thought it was just dirty keyboard but replacing the kb did the trick. Thanks for posting the video
I've got a P750, my keyboard is also partly broken. It's acting a little odd, first some keys on the left side ('q' 'w' a' 'e' 'z' 'x' '1' '2' and caps lock (with no light) are dead, now each time I start, it seems to be pressing control and F continuously! I'll give the connector a wipe and check nothing's sticking. Otherwise I'll be ordering a new one.
I just swapped out a keyboard for my mother on her laptop and saved her well over $100 by doing it myself. She was going to have some overpriced technician do it. This video was exactly what I needed for the exact model and I got the job done for the price of $16 for the keyboard off of Amazon. Thanks for posting!! The keyboard I used is: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Y4L4FTS
Just replaced mine on Toshiba Satellite P775, it was not the exact same cover on the bottom, and it only had the 2 screws on the top of the keyboard to remove it. Also i had to push the tabs down and reseat the keyboard cable connection 3 times before all of the keys would work right. The 3rd time i used my fingers to push the tabs on the keyboard connection until i could not feel them move anymore.
Its done, thanks! I learned that 1) you have to take off that thin paper strip on the back of the keyboard, for it to work correctly :-) and 2) go back in if it don't work correctly the first time, cause now -- its a gem!
Thank you for your help. Really made my life much easier knowing what screws to go after. Nicely done!
@The FatherMind. Your Welcome. The feedback is greatly appreciated!
