I just discovered the Al Maghrib Institute. Sr. Yasmin Mogahed is just outstanding. I learn something important every time I hear her talks.
It's interesting. It was habits I had picked up during lockdown that pushed me to consider Islam. I ultimately decided to revert and did on August 18. If you open your heart, Allah will lead you in the right way.

Summary of Talk:
What do we chose to focus on in any given moment. Dunya is ups and downs. At every moment there is good and bad things. What you focus on grows.
People who focus on problems always see problems. You can become paralysed by problems.
What meaning do you assign to what you experienced? Do we say why me?
The lens a believer sees life through is ‘life is all good’, for the believer there is khair in every situation.
It’s not what happens to you, It’s how you deal with it.
We get stuck physically and emotionally.
We focus on negatives in the past.
The past is a place of reference not residence.
How can we get out of toxic habits?
Keep a gratitude journal to focus on the positives. Focus on what you have.
When u focus on negatives u notice them more.
Fill your hearts with dhikr of Allah. It spreads positive vibes.
1)Our 5 prayers r spiritual oxygen.
Take it like medicine on time.
2) Adkar during the day
3)If u can’t do all actions do some but consistently. Don’t give up if you can’t do things regularly, every good deed matters.
4) keep connected to Quran
May Allah increase your knowledge.

If you are single just cause you don't have money, then be greatful to Allah for it. Allah doesn't want anyone to marry you for the wrong reason. Anything done for the wrong reason won't last.
