@@UMichiganBassoon It would be great to see some of the slow ones, like Seldom the sun, Such a tender night, They needed no words or Footnote to a summer love. Those are absolutely lovely.
@@UMichiganBassoon I looked that up just now and holy MOTHER, someone should be in jail for the prices of the charts on that site, Wilder's included. Absolutely criminal.
Very interesting music-----but Piano would be much better. Cant hang with the harpsichord! Also, whoever was miking the harpsichpord should be fired. (You cant even hear it!)
Wilder's original arrangement called for harpsichord. However, I do agree that the miking of that instrument was poorly done; perhaps the person in charge of the mixing (if there was someone in that role) was unaware that the harpsichord's sound cannot be augmented by the player...limitations which helped to promote that newfangled instrument, the pianoforte. 😉
I've been looking for modern performances of Wilder's octets for a while now. Thank you, and wonderful playing!
Thanks very much. These pieces are so great, we hope to record more of them soon.

@@UMichiganBassoon PLEASE DO!!
Lovely job! Especially great on Jack, This is my Husband. Somewhere in Musical Heaven, Alec Wilder, The Guys and Raymond Scott are smiling!
This is really fun and unique music! I am absolutely bewildered as to why he used a harpsichord rather than a piano.
Pleasantly bewildered, I hope.
Great playing!
Great Wilder!
this is fantastic!
Is this music still in print for purchase or is it a library find only now?
It is published by a company called ejazzlines.
