Uhh wow ok. I woke up from a reoccurring dream where I always go back to New York. I understand what this dream symbolizes and it’s horrible. Been dreaming about it more after my partner and the love of my life died from a terminal illness March 2022. I had to go to the lyrics just to see and yeah, this is exactly the intangible feeling. We all thought we were invincible. We all fucked up so bad. Depression got the both of us. But when he got sick, that changed everything. He couldn’t choose the way he went. I won’t either. But he didn’t want to go after all. And I’m still here. I don’t want to go back to New York. I miss him so much. Thank you for the beautiful music (even when it’s devastating).
This convinced me that art is not dead yet , i can't even describe how great the music video and the music are ❤ , blonde redhead still one of the best bands until now and i don't know even how they do it their way until now❤

I feel like this song encapsulates everything we felt in the before times of the COVID pandemic, to the loss we felt of our essential selves in endless lockdowns and then the unspoken about traumatized ways we pretend to not be traumatized by the whole ordeal. So beautiful. I've been really struggling to remember how I felt before the pandemic killed a major part of my heart as part of my trauma therapy. I don't know if that was your intention at all, but that's how it hit me. Thank you so much.
Traumatized by covid? Those were the best days of my life! Lockdown gave me time to rethink my career, enjoy being together with my family, enjoy my garden, read books, watch movies, play lots of music, spent time cooking, take things slowly. I wished it stayed like that the rest of my life, but the stupid ratrace has started again. But it’s always nice to listen to Blonde redhead as a way to relax and enjoy after a long day of working and commuting :)
I miss the times before covid too. I wasnt that worried, then got it and it gave me heart inflammation (very painful, like fire pain) and palpitations for 6 months. It was unexpected as I am "young and healthy". I was actually thinking that I might die at 35. After that traumatic experience I have to realize that getting it again might do even more tissue damage, because it is cumulative. I miss the days when I didn't go to a concert or somewhere and worry about catching something. It was a totally different and carefree time, indeed. F that nasty virus.
Anybody hear of Damo’s and Trefor’s recent passing? Two musicians who informed these guys for sure…thank you Blonde Redhead, still love you’re named after that DNA song…👍🏽🕊️🙏🏽🤘🏽
